Overview
A tier list for all mercs currently in the game.(Javelin patch)
Introduction
This is a 4 tier list:
Tier 1: Very good mercs in almost any scenario. Often included in many different comps.
Tier 2: Overall good mercs that can fit in certain comps or mercs that absolutely dominate on certain maps.
Tier 3: Average mercs that fill some unconventional role or are included as an occasional tech choice.
Tier 4: Overall bad mercs that cant keep up with others and rarely see any play.
Tier 1
Fragger: like always the best assault merc who has very good 1v1 potential and can open up pushes with a good nade.
Aura: The only merc with a health station. good movement and the most reliable healing in the game, although she forces a more defensive playstile.
Sawbonez: more of an off medic, but very good in combat and single.target health supply. Also a very safe pick
Arty: Very efficient fire support, good airstrikes and fighting. A monster on EV maps like Chapel
Kira: Very difficult to play right but some really good ammo and AoE damage. the best mulikill potential in the game. on maps like underground she can stall the C4 aswell
Javelin: Super high single-target damage, best ammo supply in the game. She doesnt really have any downsides
Fletcher: High skill ceiling but when played right by far the best engineer. Hard counters squishies
Tier 2
Sparks: Super good for reviving but her lack of healing hurts her. She should always be played as a second medic
Phoenix: efficient AoE healing but gets kind of outclassed by sawbonez. Not a bad medic tho. worth picking up
Stoker: Very good at area-denial in smaller maps or in stalling out a C4. Completely dominates Underground but also good on other maps
Redeye: The best sniper in the game. Very good fragging potential and has a lot of utility with his smoke
Proxy: very fast engineer who can get a few kills with good mine placement.
Tier 3
Bushwacker: A pretty slow merc who forces a really defensive playstile. really difficult to make work on attack. has some use tho
Turtle: also forces a defensive playstile. His shield can be taken down or played around pretty easily and he doesnt offer anything beyond his shield. in a really defensive comp with aura, stoker etc. he can work
Skyhammer: A merc who has an overall good kit but is mostly outclassed by Arty
Aimee: a sniper who can work if the player is very good but if you have a player that good he should rather play fragger if you want something to get kills
Tier 4
Vassilli: is pretty much a more noob-friendly version of aimee but lacks mobility.
Thunder: good 1v1 potential. his flashbangs can be a good setup for a push but you need alot of coordination. his flashes are more annoying than helpfull tho. needs alot of coordination to maybe make work
Rhino: The Meme-Maschine, good close range damage but not really good for anything else. he is too slow for dirty bomb
Nader: Good for spamming generators but hasnt really anything going for her besides that. gets hugely outclassed by fragger
Phantom: Annoying for Engineers but not really anything else he can do against anyone. Pick any other assault really.
