Door Kickers: Action Squad Guide

Doorkickers: Enemy Guide for Door Kickers: Action Squad

Doorkickers: Enemy Guide

Overview

Getting destroyed by a specific enemy? Accidentally shooting ANOTHER hostage because you didn’t know what an enemy does? Have no fear! This guide will attempt (poorly) to give you the info you need to bust the bad guys!

Introduction

This guide was made in EARLY ACCESS, which means if something is seriously outdated or missing, feel free to yell at me and I probably won’t fix it. This list may also be missing some enemies because they’re new, or I’m incompetent.

The enemies in this guide will also be sorted by my personal opinion on their threat level, so if you don’t like it, I guess I can’t help you.

Okay, time to actually make the guide!

Easy Money Tier

The Pistol Guys

The first goon you meet. Does nothing except walk in a straight line and shoot innaccurate shots at you. Does pretty garbage damage and has to reload after about half a dozen shots.

Deal with them however you like, they should never be a actual threat to you with their awful damage unless they accidentally shoot a hostage ten times or you have stroke while playing.

The SMG Dudes

The first actually threatening bad guy you meet. Walks menacingly towards you and blasts you with a hail of bullets if he gets in a medium distance to you. Reloads rather often after each spray of his gun.

If you’re stading directly in front of this guy when he shoots, you will definitely die; his low damage and bad aim are pretty much negated if he hits you 30 times at point blank. Other than that, the individual bullets he shoots are really inaccurate and do pretty bad damage. Just stand halfway across the room and let him come to you. Or just shoot him, as he has rather low health.

The Shotgunner

Bigger, beefer version of the SMG dudes. Walks up very slowly to you and only fires when you’re basically touching his gun. Does a lot of knockback and damage if he hits you.

Does the same thing as the SMG dudes, he kills you pretty hard if you’re close to him. If you have armor, you can usually afford to tank one shot from him, unlike the instant death from the SMG spray. Just stand anywhere not in front of him and he won’t shoot you.

Stabby McStabberson

The first melee enemy you fight. Sprints directly at you and stabs you, dealing a medium amount of damage. Much faster than other enemies.

Doesn’t deal that much damage, but he can still usually kill you in about 6-7 swings from full health if you aren’t paying attention. Most of the time, he just blocks shots for the people behind him. Just shoot him if he runs at you, and make sure you don’t get killed by the people behind him.

Somewhat Threatening Tier

Mr.Machete

Does the same thing as the knife guys, except he does about three times the damage per swing. Can kill you in 1 or 2 hits, but has a small windup before he swings.

Same general idea as the knife guys, he generally just blocks bullets for the people behind him. However, if he runs up while you’re distracted, he can insta-gib you. Try using flashbangs if you’re afraid of getting caught off guard in a tough room.

Molotov Gals

Throws a molotov that deals decent AOE damage, sets you on fire dealing damage over time, and also sets the ground on fire for a short time, dealing damage if you step in it.

Pretty rare enemy, but the damage they do is pretty high if you get directly hit by a molotov. They can also set off explosive barrels, and if they take cover behind something, they can throw molotovs at you without you being able to shoot them. Generally, you can just outrange them, and they have a windup to throw molotovs; giving you time to run if you have to.

Hostage Takers

Similar to the regular pistol guys, but deals a LOT more damage per shot and can use hostages as human shields. Can alert other enemies to your presense.

Doesn’t really pose much of a threat except for the fact that his “taking a human shield” action has no animation, so you might shoot a hostage by accident when he grabs one. Generally super easy to bait by running into a room to aggro him, then running out when he chases you away from the hostages. Flashbangs are also great if you don’t have room to bait him.

Riflemen

Looks super cool, I mean shirtless AND a cigar?
Has a big gun and does big damage. If he spots you, he charges up a shot for about a second before firing; very similar to Assault’s aimed shot, but with a green laser instead of red. Can kill you in about 3-4 solid hits.

Other than having a lot higher damage than the other guys, not much is special about him. If you time it, you can jump over his shots when you see the green laser. If you’re Shield, he can shoot through your shield unless you use the Rifle Resistant shield.

Armored Boys

The first armored enemies you meet. If for some reason. you aren’t taking AP weapons all the time, they become really, really annoying, and super hard to kill. So if you don’t have AP weapons when you start seeing them, you really should take them.

Unlike other enemies which face hug doors when you kick them, these two stand back and wait for you to open them, meaning you can’t cheese them as easily. Otherwise, they’re pretty basic, they just shoot their guns at you at full auto and do a lot of damage.

Just take cover or back up when you fight them so you don’t die instantly. The only difference between the two is the one with the green vest occasionally hucks grenades at you, which are really obvious to spot. The grenades do kill you pretty good though, so don’t ignore them.

F$#% I have to restart for the eighth time Tier

Hostage Killer / The f#$k who keeps taking my three stars

Similar to the guy who uses hostages as human shields, except this guy just walks up and shoots them in the head. Does nothing else except be as humanly annoying as possible.

If this guy sees you in his line of sight, he will walk up to a nearby hostage and execute them after a short delay. If you can’t see him (he’s in a blacked out room you haven’t checked), but he hears you, you can hear his voicelines threatening to shoot hostages. Flashbangs and sniper support are your best friend against him, although you should ALWAYS look to flank him if you can.

Always remember he won’t shoot hostages if he can’t clearly see you.

“I told you I’d do it!”

Suicide Bombers / Free Restart

This guy. I hate this guy.

Runs directly at you at an increased speed like a melee goon, except he explodes duh when he gets close without a delay and kills you instantly without fail.

Chances are, he’ll kill you and you’ll have to restart so you can prepare a flashbang for him in advance. Always kill this guy first, because he will absolutely destroy you. He won’t explode if you kill him regularly. However, he will explode if lit on fire by barrels, Breacher’s Dragon Breath, or even if you toss a flashbang directly on top of him. Yes, flashbangs can make him explode if you toss them right on top of him. Just try to make a lot of space, flank him, or sniper support him if he’s behind a lot of guys, and pray you don’t accidentally walk into one beside a staircase.

Too Dumb To Live (Bomb Hostages)

Not technically an enemy, but boy do I wish I could shoot them!

Will occasionally run directly at you with a bomb strapped to them if they spot you, soaking up bullets for all the bad guys behind them. Imagine suicide bombers you aren’t allowed to shoot.

Generally not a problem if you just take out the trigger guy, but that leads to the next enemy…

The One Holding the Trigger (Bombers)

Hostage Killers on steroids, this guy is 100000 times worse. When it’s just the bomber along with a bomb that isn’t near a hostage, these guys are pretty much useless. But the fun part is when you add the Bomb Hostages. If he sees you, he’ll trigger the bomb vests on the hostages after some time. Well, that sounds easy, right? You’re wrong.

If this guy sees you and you kill him, sometimes he’ll trigger the bombs on the level or the bomb vests on the hostages right before he dies, as a final gift to end your 3 star runs. If you see this guy, please either flank him and kill him quickly, otherwise your perfect runs will go up in smoke.

Too be absolutely sure he doesn’t trigger the bombs as he dies, you can gib him. I believe flashbanging him and killing him while he’s stunned also prevents him from detonating, but I’m not 100% sure. Chances are, no matter what you do, he’ll end at least one run.

Conclusion

Well, that’s all for now on this trash guide with terrible tips on enemies. I hope it taught you something, or at least wasted some time for you. I might update this when more enemies come out, but who knows if I’ll care enough then. Thanks for reading.

(P.S. If you know where some of the rarer enemies are that I am missing on the guide (such as the miniboss enemies), feel free to leave a comment on what level they’re on.)

Changelog:
??/??/????: Guide released. Wait, when did I release this again?

1/12/19: I remembered I had this guide. Added the bomb hostages, the guys with the bomb detonators, and the two armored rifle enemies. Too lazy to add the rest of the minibosses and ♥♥♥♥ at this time so…
