Overview

Our launch event, which is no big deal seriously. But it starts at 11:59p May 1st with a tiny beta world. Wow right? Anyways this is the start of how to opt in, more coming later today. We have 10 hours left to get our ducks in a row and upload the darn thing.

[DRAFT] The fun way or the easy way?

To opt in to beta on linux – here SteamOS – follow the steps below to get ready and have console turned on.

In SteamOS (Screenshots coming) Big Screen goto settings and then interface.
Check allow switch to desktop (i forget the exact wording)
when in desktop, click activites in top right
then click the show all applications
then launch the terminal app
(if terminal never launches let us know we know how to fix that)

[coming soon] tell you command to enter to opt in or launch steam with console option.

the easy way.
to do this make sure you have disabled big screen by pkill steam
then just right click > properties and and ” -console” to the end of the Command: area as seen below.

Now you will have your Steam Console and when we announce how to opt in you will be ready.
