Overview
Easter eggs and how to find them
The Destiny Lootcave reference
From the safe zone at the docks (in the North-East corner of the Slums), follow the inlet of water just above the safe zone.
Follow the stream of water past an overturned boat until you reach a makeshift wall made out of plywood.
Hop the wall and dive into the pool, then swim through the cave and come up in the cavern beyond. You’ll recieve a notification reading:
“Your destiny is to build your legend (and get loot).”
Zombies will continuously spawn for several minutes – if you can manage to eliminate them all, you’ll get another message reading:
“Enough! Patch 1.0.2 activated. Better do some quests.”
There is also a Zombie Statue (as well as some other loot) in this cavern

The Korek Machete
I’m sure everyone already knows how to get this, but incase they don’t here’s how:
The blueprints to this weapon are located on the top of an apartment complex that houses the Parking Garage Quarantine Zone, and you can get to the top by jumping on an air conditioning unit and parkouring your way up.
Once you get to the top, there are three doors that are all locked, so look around the back of the door in front of you. Look around several boxes and crates for an odd picture of a pink bunny rabbit.
Jump over the boxes and barrels to find a hidden box.
Trying to press the open button won’t work the first time. Try to open the box 50 times and which point you gain the “Korek Machete” blueprint.

The EXPcalibur
You can find the sword on a tiny rock in the far southeast area of Harran’s Slums, south of the fishing area.
Swim out all the way to the rock to find a golden sword impaled upon a zombie.
You’ll need to hold down the grab button for quite some time as the orange bar slowly fills all the way around button prompt.
Shortly after taking the sword, the corpse the sword was embedded in will start to burn up. After it burns, you’ll find the blueprint for the blade in its place.

Plants vs Zombies
After descending a bit and staying left, you’ll come to a small valley area.
As you enter you will see a zipline too tall to use.
Continue a bit until you can reach it and ride the zipline which will take you straight to the cenote.
Stay on the high ground and follow the rocks to the right until you look down and see the toxic lichen.
Drop down and you’ll notice it says Use and not Take.
Use the lichen to see some Plants vs Zombies.

Super Mario World 1-1 & Pyza Suit (Wingsuit)
In the bottom left hand corner of the Old Town map, on top of the buildings, you’ll find a chimney with a Super Mario green warp pipe. Go up to it to see a prompt, and then you’ll be able to go inside! Once inside, you’ll find a recreation of Super Mario Bros. World 1-1! Completing this area will yield 3,250 XP towards your survivor skill. Addtionally, there is a secret pink cube, the exact spot of the invisible box from Super Mario Bros. on NES. If you jump and hit this cube, you can then climb on top of it to find a Blueprint for the Pyza Suit which is a craftable wingsuit that always you to glide across rooftops!

The Master Sword
In order to open the chest that contains the Master Sword (Twilight Phantom) blueprint you need to grab a hacking device. This item is collected through the side quest for the two brothers as you help them build their rocket train. Once you’ve completed the quest chain to the point where the train goes through the tunnel, search the nearby table for the hacking device.
After that you need to head to the location marked below and search underwater, it’s exactly where the blue icon is on the image. Open the chest underwater and you’ll find yourself the Twilight Phantom blueprint.
(Couldn’t find a video guide for this one so good luck!)
(Also thanks to Wolf and Stuff N Things for letting me know!)
Misc Easter Eggs
During the side quest The Launch, on the back of the submarine there is a Live Long and Prosper hand salute along side the boats name which is Prosper.
While on the Bunker mission in Old Town, head into the Town Hall and immediately go up the stairs. Position Kyle in front of the elevator and wait for it to open. Out pops a zombie that resembles a Clicker from the awesome PS3 and PS4 game, The Last of Us.

On the left side of the Slums you can check in to the infamous Bites Motel in Harran. This is a zombie pun based on the Hitchcock classic “Psycho” and the motel where the events take place, the Bates Motel.
At the beginning of the game in the room you wake up in above one of the beds there is a Jade “The Scorpion” Aldemir poster.
On the bottom right corner of the poster is a QR Code.
If you get your character close enough to the poster (crouching down helps) you can actually scan the code with your phone and it will take you directly to [link]
This easter egg can only be found in The Following DLC
On the southwest side of the map in The Following, there is a T-shaped home, north of a safe zone and just south of a Bolter feeding ground.
Conclusion
That’s pretty much everything, if you find anything else or think that another easter egg should be added to this list leave a comment!
