Tutorial & Basic Controls
Since it features very specific instructions on certain vehicles & units (Heavy Rescue Vehicle/Ambulance/Tow Truck/Police Car), I will not be providing any information on the tutorial.
You will get to deal with a minor fire, a road accident, and an unarmed criminal.
However, there are several basic things you need to know:
- Left mouse button allows you to select units and/or vehicles. Dragging it allows for multiple units in an area to be selected. Be careful not to select the wrong units in the wrong time – You need to make all the differences in the world. Left clicking on blank space will deselect them. If you also hold shift, the square will only select personnel and ignore vehicles.
- If there are units within a vehicle you can use the right mouse button and click on the vehicle again or left click at the vehicle-arrow button, so they can leave and begin their work. The same goes for returning, as you just need to right-click on the corresponding vehicle.
- Right click can also be used to send units to a certain location if they cannot perform a certain action.
- The Heavy Rescue Vehicle, Turntable Ladder Vehicle, Decontamination Vehicle and Water Tender all come with two FD personnel.
- Paramedics and Emergency Doctors may scan for nearby casualties and perform their specific actions but you should keep a tab on casualties all the time since they have limited range. They might also run into hazardous locations such as damaged electrical cables and nearby fires. The same could be applied to Firefighters as well since they can swarm nearby fires.
- Similar to all past Emergency games, you may need to prioritize blazes and other threats that obstruct or harm units vulnerable to them.
- Units vulnerable to flames will have a fire icon above them, meaning that they should be returned to their respective vehicles. On the other hand, a sufficient reduction to fire intensity would prevent fires from damaging them.
- EMS vehicles that transport Paramedics/Doctors have interchangeable slots, such as allowing two doctors to be carried on a single ambulance.
- Firefighters need the Heavy Rescue Vehicle to equip things. They can also drag casualties manually, which is useful if they are close to environmental hazards that the EMS personnel cannot endure.
- When trying to arrest an unarmed criminal, equip one of the officers with Pepper Spray then other with handcuffs. You could also do it with just one officer, but you’ll have to be quick.
- Most vehicles that come with their crew will function normally even if they are absent. For example, Water Tender can still douse flames and the Turntable Ladder Vehicle still rescues people on higher locations normally. Examples may vary, but if some first responders are to return to their vehicle, (Paramedics with a casualty/Police Officers with a prisoner), it is possible to move the vehicle to them and speed it up. This is strange, considering that European vehicles’ steering wheels are placed at the right.
- Police Officers can only arrest criminals if they have equipped themselves with handcuffs, and provided if the suspect is not paralyzed they will attempt to fight the officer. If the officer’s health is too low they can be injured, so be sure to disable a suspect beforehand. It is also possible to break a fight by paralyzing the suspect. If lethal force is used the suspect would require medical attention, and is therefore generally not advisable unless they are fleeing or if they pose significant danger to law enforcement personnel.
- While the Heavy Duty Tow Truck is lifting something, you can specify a second target. The vehicle will automatically proceed when it’s done with the current task.
- Water tenders are critical against larger blazes with their mobility, so make sure they’re free to respond most of the time. Their crew should be unloaded and equipped with firefighting equipment, however. Also, if there are no nearby hydrants, firefighters may plug their hoses into the back of the vehicle and use it as they see fit. This comes at the cost of disabling the truck until the hoses are removed from it, although otherwise it works normally.
- Most of the time, don’t fight fires with the turntable ladder vehicle. Their turn rate is horrible and as such they can’t even take out a burning house until the entire city is scorched. They can, however, hold their own on larger structures while more mobile units take out nearby fires.
- Units may be temporarily or prematurely damaged by a variety of sources such as gunfire from criminals or excessive heat from nearby burning entities such as a car. All non-critical damage done is restored if the unit is sent back to base and provided if they are not injured, they will regenerate slowly. However, if Firefighters are returned they will automatically be disarmed of whatever they have at hand and must obtain equipment from the heavy rescue vehicle again.
- Place your units and vehicles carefully – It might take you dozens of precious seconds to spot and notice blocked units. If they can’t reach their objective they’ll say “We cannot access this location, we should find another area and position ourselves!”
- As difficulties increase, the health level of casualties will drop faster, emergency units take more damage, and in some missions you will have less units to work with. Be sure to plan your rescue appropriately. If at least 1 casualty is at 20% health the game will say “Warning, we need to treat all injured people at the scene as quickly as possible before they die!” However, this alert can only play once, and future notifications are not applicable even during missions where new casualties can appear.
- All units have three resistance values – Against Heat/Gunfire/Melee. If the unit is 100% resistant (firefighter vs. fire) they will not be injured at all. All vehicles are immune to damage, so if a fire is threatening an idle paramedic team you can send them back to an ambulance. Explosions, however, can still wreck vehicles and blow up whoever’s inside it.
- Paramedics are really, really buggy, so expect them to cause issues with other units. To compensate for this, however, in EM20 they move much faster. It is still worth noting that carting away casualties would not be a priority since when stable their condition can no longer deteriorate.
- Some vehicles have crew slots which draws from the group of its corresponding first responders, (I.E. Police Car carries police officers), and you can remove them so these units are not brought to the scene. This is useful if some of your personnel are left at the site and need a ride back.
- You can dismount crew members one at a time by left-clicking on their icon while they are in the vehicle.
- Missions will fail under the following circumstances – [Casualty died], [First Responder Disabled], [Extensive Fire Spread]
- Activate unit automation in settings. This will significantly assist in your efforts.
- When a mission is available, you can watch the backstage video to see the Developers’ logic & reasons behind it. You also get a glimpse on the original counterpart of the remake. These people are German so better turn on subtitles if you want to comprehend at least 1% of it. (Yes, obviously I know nothing about that language) No matter how hard a mission is, I always loved the logic behind it.
- If the situation becomes unsalvageable or is out of control then don’t waste your time waiting for mission failure. Just restart.
Brief Overview of Units
Overview of each unit’s capabilities. I’ll also list the missions they can appear in too.
Note that this only applies to Hardcore. In lower difficulties, you might have additional vehicles and any corresponding units.
- Heavy Rescue Vehicle – Transports 2 Firefighters. Firefighters need it to obtain their equipment. (Appears in all missions)
- Water Tender – Blasts away at fires with its powerful monitor. Can also act as a fire hydrant with 4 attachment points at the cost of mobility. Transports 2 Firefighters. (Appears in all missions save for Mass Collision, Avalanche, and Train Crash)
- Turntable Ladder – Performs high-angle rescues with its ladder and can also use its integrated monitor to take out blazes. Transports 2 Firefighters. (Appears in Arsonist, Avalanche, Train Crash, Fireworks Factory, and Meteorite Impact)
- Decontamination Vehicle – Used by Firefighters with HAZMAT Suits to sterilize contaminated people. Also carries 2 Firefighters with suits. (Appears only in Nuclear Disaster)
- Motorboat Transport Vehicle – Transports a motorboat to the scene which can be deployed at piers. (Appears in Supertanker and Train Crash)
- Motorboat – A fast-moving watercraft that can transport the diver and up to three casualties. All crew and other occupants are unloaded upon docking. (Appears with the Motorboat Transport Vehicle only)
- Diver Transport Vehicle – Brings the diver to the scene. Diver is slow on land so he’ll need it to move around. (Appears in Train Crash and Hurricane)
- Fireboat – Fights fires from water with its monitor. (Appears only in Supertanker)
- Firefighter – Can use a variety of equipment to their advantage (Fire Axe – Break open locked doors. Chainsaw – Cuts down trees that aren’t burning to prohibit fire spread. Fire Extinguisher – Used to fight smaller fires. Hydraulic Cutter – Breaks open wrecked vehicles. Fire Hose – Used to suppress larger fires but requires a nearby hydrant/water tender) and are immune to fires. They can also carry away casualties manually to Rescue Services personnel. (Appears in all missions save for Nuclear Disaster)
- Firefighter with a HAZMAT Suit – Essentially a Firefighter with immunity to hazardous materials. Can use decontamination vehicles to cleanse people of contaminants. (Appears only in Nuclear Disaster)
- Diver – Can locate sunken subjects with bubble trails or carry drowning casualties. Can also ride on the motorboat if there’s some distance to the target. (Appears only with the Diver Transport Vehicle)
- Emergency Doctor’s Vehicle – Transports the Emergency Doctor to the scene. (Role replaced by Ambulance/ICTV. Appears only on loading screens).
- Ambulance – Transports a Team of Paramedics and an Emergency Doctor. Can hold one casualty. Once there’s one inside, you’ll only be able remove the casualty if the Ambulance returns to base and the paramedics can’t exit until then. (Appears in all missions save for Supertanker and Nuclear Disaster)
- Intensive Care Transport Vehicle – Transports 2 Emergency Doctors & 2 Teams of Paramedics. Can accept up to 6 casualties but they must be loaded by deploying the vehicle’s extensions first. (Appears in all missions save for Street Race, Arsonist, Mass Collision, and Nuclear Disaster)
- Rescue Transporter – An Ambulance with ICTV’s model and a capacity of 6 casualties. (Appears only in Nuclear Disaster)
- Search and Rescue Dog Vehicle – Transports the Search and Rescue Dog & its handler to the scene. (Appears in Avalanche, Supertanker, Train Crash, Fireworks Factory and Hurricane)
- Emergency Doctor – A medic that heals casualties and prepares them for transport. Slightly resistant to fires. (Appears in all missions save for Nuclear Disaster)
- Team of Paramedics – Transports a single casualty on a stretcher, which can only be emptied if the vehicle they’re on has been returned to HQ. Slightly resistant to fires. (Appears in all missions save for Nuclear Disaster)
- Search & Rescue Dog Handler – Directs the dog to locate missing people. Dog is immune to most damage sources. (Appears only with the Search and Rescue Dog Vehicle)
Law Enforcement
- Police Car – Transports 2 Police Officers & 2 criminals. (Appears in all missions save for Supertanker, Train Crash, Meteorite Impact and Nuclear Disaster)
- Evacuation Transporter – Transports 6 civilians. (Appears only in Nuclear Disaster)
- Police Officer – Maintains public order. Also has several pieces of equipment but doesn’t require returning to their vehicles (Pistol – Used to shoot armed criminals if you need to neutralize them quickly, but they’ll then require medical attention. Pepper Spray – A highly irritant chemical that paralyzes a criminal for several seconds. Handcuffs – Allows the officer to arrest a paralyzed criminal. Megaphone – Used to direct civilians away. You don’t need to use the other things in his arsenal.) (Appears only with the Police Car)
Technicians
- Engineer’s Vehicle – Transports the Engineer. (Appears in Mass Collision, Avalanche and Train Crash)
- Heavy Duty Tow Truck – Lifts heavy obstructions. (Appears in Avalanche, Supertanker, Train Crash, Fireworks Factory, Hurricane and Meteorite Impact)
- Tow Truck – Transports wrecked vehicles from the scene. (Appears in Street Race, Arsonist, and Mass Collision)
- Recovery Helicopter – Uses its hoist & winch to access people trapped in locations inaccessible to most other units. Can transport up to 6 non-casualties in its hold which must be released by landing. Has a stretcher that can grab a single casualty at a time, but prevents landing or further use of it while occupied. (Appears only in Supertanker)
- Engineer – Repairs mechanical defects. (Appears only with Engineer’s Vehicle)
Street Race
Type: Road Accident/Building Fire/Manslaughter/Speeding/Explosion
Despite the objectives, you will never get to halt the street race. When any first responder is close enough, the race will start anyway. Deploy all Fire Department Units first. (It seems weird that any siren from any emergency vehicles could scare them off even if the police aren’t there.) (In the original cut-scene, the vehicle that crashed was scorched entirely and only needs to be removed by a Tow Truck without a Firefighter breaking it open, so the driver likely died.)
Cut-Scene: Two sedans, one blue and one orange (which teleports back to its position), begins to heat up their engines. A person between them waves a sign several times at start. However, several seconds into the race, the orange car veers off to the right and rams several pedestrians before crashing into and rebounding from a wall. The impact created an explosion that ignited several nearby buildings. The orange vehicle lies overturned on the ground, while the blue vehicle zooms past normally.
Dispatch all Fire Department Units at the scene (if they were not already summoned) as well as all those from the rescue services and a police car. You can also summon the Tow Trucks from the Tech Department though this should not be a priority. While they are on their way, the racer in the blue vehicle would be escaping from the Northwestern corner of the map to the opposite direction. The culprit’s location is marked on the map, and can be easily accessed with the police car. Unload the officers slightly ahead of the perpetrator. The suspect is unarmed and not aggressive, so use of lethal force is not advisable. Simply douse him with pepper spray (right-click after equipping an item to use it) and then arrest the racer with handcuffs. Afterwards, send the police car near them and it will zoom back to the base.
At the wreck scene, there will be three visible casualties, with a fourth one trapped in the orange car. Order the water tenders to tackle the fire closest to them – Upon extinguishing it, check around for more blazes and suppress them. Unload firefighters from the heavy rescue vehicle and equip one of them with hydraulic cutters to rescue the orange car’s occupant. Vacant firefighters should also assist in tackling the blaze with nearby hydrants. The rescue services units should be unloaded with some distance from the fire. Send the Doctors to treat the injured immediately and keep an eye on the orange vehicle. When the doctors are done with one casualty, quickly send them to the next.
At this point the situation should be mostly under control. Dispatch two Tow Trucks (if they are not present already) just ahead of the burning building and confiscate both vehicles, as well as any wrecks from the building fire’s resultant heat damage. The process should be relatively straightforward. The ambulance would be usually returning to HQ with the casualty on board and they must be dispatched again to transport the other two casualties. If there are any active blazes, try to suppress their spread with the water tenders by tackling newer minor blazes while slowly cornering them with the help of firefighters.
Arsonist
Type: Building Fire/Arson/Murder
Always remember that the arsonist wears a grey coat/shirt. This can help in identifying and arresting him. While casualties will last for only two minutes during the mission, the mission area is quite small, allowing better response times (Practically the only mission I could get a gold medal).
The fire may randomly begin in one of the city’s buildings with one person in mortal danger while standing on a balcony, so firefighting may be easier or harder depending on the quantity of nearby flammable objects – make sure to take them out quickly, as otherwise they may spread to nearby vehicles, requiring Tow Trucks to remove them. Dispatch two water tenders to suppress the blaze while the turntable ladder vehicle should rescue the trapped person. The police car and ambulance will also need to be on standby, with the doctor ready to treat the casualty. The turntable ladder vehicle can also be used as a makeshift water tender in this mission – despite its slow operating speed, there is only one rescue requiring it.
During or after the initial blaze, a second fire will spawn somewhere else in the city. The arsonist will not be far from the scene as the blaze begins, so the Police Car should proceed to his relative location. If identified by any unit, his icon will be displayed on the map. Quickly intercept and detain him. If done successfully, a Warbler pop-up (reference to Twitter) appears, which says “The arsonist has been arrested” along with an image of the officer holding the criminal. Put him back into the police car and they’ll take him into custody.
The second building will have people trapped inside. The door may or may not be sealed shut, but if it is, a Firefighter needs an axe. Either way, send the remaining heavy rescue vehicle and bring out the casualty. A second ambulance should also be dispatched to the scene. Due to the casualty’s proximity to the flames, you should order the firefighter to move the casualty some distance from the fire so the doctor can safely treat them, unless your other fire department units have weakened or took out the blaze blaze already. Regardless, suppress all remaining fires and attend to the casualty, then take them away.
Mass Collision
Type: Road Accident/Vehicle Fire
At the scene of the accident, there are 9 wrecked vehicles and 8 casualties. Several clumped vehicles are burning. The 2 heavy rescue vehicles should be dispatched first near the burning vehicles, followed by two ambulances farther down the highway and one police car near the break – It should not block other emergency vehicles. Optionally, deploy the Engineer’s vehicle near the switch box and the tow trucks in the rest area.
Equip 2 firefighters with fire extinguishers (there are no hydrants on the autobahn) and start tackling the small blazes, while the two others should begin to break open wrecks with hydraulic cutters. Prioritize the smaller vehicle as the tanker doesn’t have any people trapped within At the same time, unload the ambulances – Three casualties were thrown from their vehicles during the incident, and they should be urgently treated. To remove the four onlookers, a police officer needs to be equipped with a Megaphone. After a right-click, it will remain active until manually dismissed, and onlookers exposed to its area of effect will follow the officer, who can then lead them away from the scene. If the engineer has arrived, instruct him to work on the switch box, as the lengthy repair can take up to several minutes.
After extinguishing all burning vehicles, equip the remaining two firefighters and send them off on unchecked ones. If there are no tasks requiring them, move the firefighters to clear a path for other units. You can also choose to gradually clear the scene with Tow Trucks at this moment by selectively removing vehicles that are easy to access. Remember to constantly check on the doctors and send them to nearby casualties whenever they are done or if there are just too many injured people lying around. Park ambulances near casualties and manually move paramedics to reduce response times. Make sure the ambulances and Tow Trucks don’t clog up the highway and are sent back as soon as they become avaliable again.
Avalanche
Type: Natural Disaster/Malfunction
With the roads blocked, the heavy duty tow truck will have to remove a piece of concrete lying on the ground, so other rescue vehicles can pass. Dispatch 2 rescue dog vehicles, the engineer’s vehicle, the heavy rescue vehicle, and the turntable ladder vehicle.The Turntable Ladder Vehicle needs to rescue a person trapped in their house, though after that it’s safe to return it to base.
Once the crane removes the debris, send the engineer’s vehicle into a parking lot. He needs to leave the vehicle and proceed on foot to repair the electrical defect and the closest road to it was blocked off by exposed wires, ready to obliterate anything upon contact. If not attended to, it will eventually start a building fire and injure three more people. One rescue dog vehicle needs to be deployed at the break in the middle while the other further down the road – Dogs are slow, so if the handler is placed at a convenient location it could drastically reduce search times – of the 12 casualties in the mission 6 are missing and they need to be quickly located. When the dog finds someone the game will play a chime, so pay attention to that.
With the dogs onto work, the firefighters should grab hydraulic cutters and start breaking open the three vehicle wrecks, and the heavy duty tow truck needs to remove two obstacles trapping people underneath them. The ICTV (Intensive Care Transport Vehicle) should be summoned no later than this point. Deploy it in the parking lot and send its personnel to work. Two ambulances should also be called in – They are useful for picking up distant casualties that the search dogs will eventually locate, while the ICTV’s crew can handle those closer to it.
Send the doctors after the injured, and continue your surveillance on the rescue dogs – They need to be dispatched and returned at speed. Once revealed, get the doctors to check on multiple casualties and ensure their survival. After discovering and attending to all casualties, the mission becomes less than a chore – The only task left is to arrange their transport.
Supertanker
Type: Naval Accident/Building Fire/Vehicle Fire/Malfunction
The supertanker has caused a fuel leak, setting fire to a nearby warehouse and some other industrial facilities. Three crew members have jumped into the water, while some dock workers are missing. Deploy one water tender to cool the middle of the tanker, one to cool the nearby chemical tanks (prevent the fire from spreading to nearby industrial facilities at all costs), and another to the bottom-left corner of the warehouse. A heavy rescue vehicle should be placed near the second and third water tenders. At the third location, unload the firefighters and try to hold off the blaze by cooling these sections, and don’t forget to use help from the water tender. For other Fire Department Vehicles deployed here, simply unload all crew, give them hoses, and let automation take over for now.
Dispatch two fireboats to the starboard, and focus on extinguishing the burning ship first while the first water tender buys time for the recovery helicopter to close in. Keep an eye on the ships and direct them manually if needed to take advantage of their immerse stopping power. Meanwhile, deploy the Search and Rescue Dog Vehicle and Heavy Duty Tow Truck near the bow of the ship – two casualties are missing while buried under heavy slabs of concrete, so they need to be located and rescued. With the Water Tender preventing fire propagation, the three stranded crew members would not jump into the icy waters, and can be safely rescued by the Recovery Helicopter. The water tender should be directed to tackle other blazes only after all three have been rescued.
Send the motorboat transport vehicle and the ICTV to the pier at the north and unload all personnel. Deploy the motorboat and guide it to the drowning crew members, while the ICTV needs to have its extensions ready. If the Recovery Helicopter is vacant, grab the nearest casualty and drop them off, then repeat this process. (The helicopter leaves a huge, yellow H beacon on the ground in case if it is hard to locate). Remember to check on the Search and Rescue Dog as well as the Heavy Duty Tow Truck so you don’t miss a single casualty – They will die after around 6 minutes if no medical attention has been given to them. After dropping off the casualties, land the helicopter and use the unload button so the rescued ship crew can leave. Be sure to check on the doctors as they might miss casualties placed too far from them. If done correctly, there would be only six casualties, which can all be shipped away with the ICTV in one go. At this point, non-firefighting units should be returned to the base.
With the rescue work done, it is time take over the firefighting. The tanker should be extinguished at this point, and Fireboats should be ideally directed to tackle warehouse sections and cool them if necessary. Contain all the fires near the port of the ship and begin to encroach on various corners. Focus your forces and trap the blaze from two directions as the water tenders push onward and remember to leave firefighters to cool extinguished sections.
Train Crash
Type: Rail Accident/Malfunction
The mission isn’t about firefighting. Instead, it heavily challenges the rescue services personnel and the units assisting them.
A high-speed bullet train has collided with a fallen passenger bus, smashing it to oblivion and scattering 18 casualties everywhere – 4 in danger of being washed away, 3 trapped inside a submerged train car, 1 constricted by damaged power cables, 1 buried by a heavy object, 1 stuck on a bridge beam, and the rest are locked in their cars. If that happens IRL, First Responders would sweat all over the place trying to save people and wail at the huge loss of life.
You need to get many things deployed at the start of the mission. Place an engineer’s vehicle near the fuse box, a heavy duty tow truck to free the buried person, and an ambulance near the truck. Get the Motor Boat Transport Vehicle deployed near the pier as well as the Diver, who can head off to search for missing people immediately. The Turntable Ladder vehicle should start rescuing the suspended person, while its crew will need some Hydraulic cutters-There are five carriages in the vicinity which they can break open, and they will need the items from the heavy rescue vehicle. While they get to work the heavy rescue vehicle to the bridge and drop one firefighter there, as there’s a dangling train car and needs to be urgently broken open. Put another ambulance on the bridge. If the Engineer isn’t doing his job already, he’ll have to disable the fuse box to free the casualty.
At a scripted period a cut-scene plays: The dangling carriage creaks and wobbles for a few seconds, before eventually succumbing to gravity. It plunges into the river and is briefly carried by the current before it comes to rest at a protruding rock. If not broken open early enough the mission will fail. When this happens just send the firefighter back inside the vehicle and move it to the other two carriages at the end of the bridge.
The region surrounding the pier will be a hotzone due to the high amount of casualties it must accept. Quickly set up one Intensive Care Transport Vehicle in that place and get its doctors to work, while the other must be deployed just north uphill. The ICTV must be carefully placed so that its extensions will not prevent doctors from treating casualties, which may happen when a motorboat delivers the to shore.
The Motorboat will require two attempts to rescue all four drowning people as it only holds 3 at a time. Although they will drift away over time, the boat’s velocity is sufficient for the task and can quickly reach them. With all brought back to shore, move it close to the diver and get him to bring the rescued people on the boat.
As night falls, remember to keep a constant eye on all casualties with the help of doctors, and the rest of the mission is relatively straightforward. Try to take advantage of the ICTV’s large capacity whenever possible. The casualties in the edges should still be conveniently removed by individual ambulances.
Fireworks Factory
Type: Building Fire/Explosion/Manslaughter
The lack of safety precautions led to the explosion of the factory (In the EM4 Cut-Scene, a short circuit from a handling mishap ignited the hazardous materials nearby. Its real-life Dutch counterpart’s cause is impossible to determine since whatever evidence that could help was nuked in the blast), with a total of 14 casualties – Four occupied traffic vehicles were caught in the blast and damaged, 3 are next to a damaged house, 1 person is trapped under a piece of industrial machinery, with three more invisible ones stuck under concrete slabs, 1 is lying in the open between two wrecked warehouses, and 1 more is located on a high structure and needs to be rescued. The entire mission is fast-paced, just like the rest of ’em. Just imagine if this happened again……
Send all the water tenders near the center of the map, and they shall do their work against the fire. The Ambulances (which should be used to retrieve casualties conveniently), ICTV and search dog vehicle must be placed near the north of the map, close to the road. Send two heavy rescue vehicles near the ruined house in danger of collapsing, and turntable ladder vehicle to the high structure. The Heavy Duty Tow Truck should ideally arrive at this point too, while the search dog should be assigned to detect casualties. Keep an eye on the dog from time to time.
Within 3 minutes, the wobbling structure would collapse and kill everyone too close to it. Two of the three are obstructed by debris, while 1 is not. Have firefighters remove them before carrying the injured to the rescue services personnel if they are in the way. If the EMS crew are not unloaded, they should be at this point. Meanwhile, the crew in the turntable ladder vehicle needs to grab hydraulic cutters and break open the four damaged vehicles.
The water tenders, if they are done, should be tackling blazes within the parking lot and beyond if they spread too far. Otherwise, send them near the warehouse with a casualty lying nearby and extinguish it. The crane is required to remove the industrial machinery covering the person, as well as three stone slabs. If the turntable ladder vehicle is done with the rescue, order it to cool the structure so the doctors will not be endangered. All emergency doctors may need to move around from person to person often and heal them. When the firefighters are free, equip all of them with fire hoses and try to extinguish the spreading blaze while it begins to eat away things in the eastern corner of the map. Water Tenders should stay near the factory and suppress all the fires. When all casualties are stabilized, remember to get the paramedics to retrieve them.
The last objective is to arrest the factory’s CEO for negligence & manslaughter. He will be static for most of the mission, so dispatch one police car near him, but not too close, as he is equipped with a pistol. Ideally, he should not be able to attack the officers when they exit. Be quick about the arrest with careful positioning if you do not want to incur police casualties. Use lethal force if you’re not confident, though he’ll require medical attention afterwards.
Hurricane
Type: Natural Disaster/Building Fire/Road Accident/Explosion

In this scenario you are tasked to respond to a variety of incidents while not losing track of the main task and divert your forces accordingly.
A residential area has been ravaged with two fallen trees, people stuck in vehicles and those missing are buried by debris. Dispatch a single heavy Rescue vehicle, 2 Search & Rescue Dog vehicles, and the ICTV there. Be mindful of the ICTV’s placement since the Heavy Duty Tow Truck may be obstructed by it. Meanwhile on the North of the map where a crashed tanker rests, dispatch a heavy rescue vehicle, a diver transport vehicle, an ambulance and another heavy duty tow truck. Send a single ambulance to the casualty lying just in front of a house and let them handle that.
Send the search dogs to work immediately and keep an eye on them once in a while. Recall them as soon as a person has been found. The first heavy duty tow truck should be assigned to clear the two trees, one trapping a casualty directly and another blocking access to a parking lot where two casualties must be broken out of their vehicles (alternatively, you can equip a Firefighter with a chainsaw to do so and free up the trucks, but this means they will have to return to a Heavy Rescue Vehicle to change equipment afterwards). A third vehicle is just north of them. The tanker truck must also be broken open and hoisted. If you find any casualties, prioritize rescuing them first. Don’t forget to unload your EMS personnel and administer medical aid. Also, be sure to make use of the Heavy Duty To Truck’s “Task Queue” feature (Assigning it to another object while it is currently occupied) for maximum automation.
First Accident: An SUV approaches the tanker’s crash site, only to be disoriented by the burning wreck of a falling sedan (which is empty). In an effort to avoid it, the vehicle veered off the road and sank.
The diver is needed to locate the sunken vehicle, which can be salvaged by the Heavy Duty Tow Truck and broken open with the firefighter’s help. If the Doctor isn’t attending to the tanker’s passenger, manually assign him to do so.
At this point, you might have discovered all the casualties. Remember that 4 are trapped under debris that need to be removed before they can be accessed. Combined with the other tasks, there are a total of 8 hoisting missions, so leave no crane vacant. The singular doctor not far away should also join the fray by now. Also, in the lower-left of the map, there should be two massive, red fuel tanks. Dispatch a water tender there and allow it to cool the house nearby.
Second Accident: Due to the strong winds, a red fuel tank rolls off its pedestal and into a nearby house. Upon impact, it ruptures, sending heat everywhere while igniting several nearby objects.
The single water tender is sufficient in holding off these small fires. As an added bonus, if you’re cooling the house when the tank struck, it will not catch fire.
Usually, at this point the situation is mostly under control. In the south-east corner three civilians are working on a cargo truck carrying hazardous materials. Send a police car there and order a police officer to evacuate them clear of the truck.
Third accident: A tree weakened by the winds finally succumbs to the storm’s battery and collapses. Its trunk strikes the truck, causing the barrels on board to detonate, setting fires to dozens of nearby objects.
If the workers are not evacuated, they will be injured by the blast. While they will not die and cause the mission to fail, the fires would seriously hamper rescue efforts, especially considering the scarcity of FD units during this mission (6 firefighters and 1 water tender). Make use of the water tender’s integrated hydrants to assist in firefighting.
The quote at the beginning of this section is directly taken from an in-game audio line which usually shows up minutes after the truck’s explosion.
Meteorite Impact
Type: Explosion/Celestial Disaster/Building Fire
Hypothetically one of the of the most unsettling, disastrous, terrifying and complex scenarios while rivaling other natural disasters when it comes against the First Responders and the thousands of senseless deaths that follows. Even the worst terrorist attack is a joke by comparison, and censors shatter on themselves whenever they try anything funny. You could try thousands of world wars and none will beat a single meteor strike.
The two impacts might refer to the 2002 cut-scene of the mission which depicted a meteor breaking into 2 before the final impact.
A meteorite has crashed into the city, obliterating everything within a small radius while setting a whole ring of buildings & other objects on fire. In the second minute, the game will alert you that an additional impact will occur exactly 12 minutes after the first.
Dispatch all water tenders to tackle the blazes at the southern buildings and prohibit their spread. In the meantime, send a heavy rescue vehicle to the two wrecked vehicles and the ICTV to handle the casualties. The Heavy Duty Tow truck is required to remove 2 concrete slabs trapping people beneath them, one of which is located northwest of the site. Once done, demobilize it so other first responders aren’t obstructed. Another ICTV should also be sent there, but its personnel should not be unloaded due to nearby fires threatening them.
Crack open the two vehicles with firefighters’ help. Unload every firefighter from the water tenders, equip them with hoses and suppress fires in the northwestern direction. Water tenders should also join the fray if the southern building fires have been taken out, although they should instead extinguish buildings on the southern end of the west street. The Fire Department’s strategy is to close in onto the blazes from both directions and eventually take out the entire block, minimizing the fire’s spread in the process. The northeastern corner’s flammable objects are mostly trees which will burn out eventually, but the fire must not spread to other structures which would take a huge amount of effort to take out.
To the north of the crater there is one wrecked vehicle, one casualty lying in the open, and one person requiring rescue from a balcony. Send a heavy rescue vehicle, one ambulance and one turntable ladder vehicle. A firefighter must drag the rescued casualty to the doctor while the other cracks open the damaged car. The turntable ladder vehicle must then be relocated to another site, while a second should also be dispatched to rescue a third person. All three casualties can be handled by a single doctor so when you’re about to dispatch more ambulances, remove the doctors from them before they’re sent to the scene.
In the west wing three people are trapped by the blazes in their houses. The doors are unlocked by default, so a firefighter can simply enter and rescue them. Drag any suitable casualties to the doctors and use the vacant ICTV’s help if you’re running short on medical aid. The heat damage may randomly injure pedestrians so be on the lookout for that too. (Ironically they should not even be here in the first place, since whatever military in charge would be wise enough to initiate lockdown and only allow access to emergency personnel) With all casualties secured (not counting random heat injuries where you only need 1 ambulance) you should be around 7-8 minutes into the mission. Get every firefighter back to their vehicles, and send every EMS personnel along with their vehicles back to base – you’re gonna need them later. Also, keep all units away from the south-western corner.
At exactly 12th minute, the second meteor strikes, generating another massive explosion that shocks the entire map. Two more people are trapped on balconies, 2 under heavy objects (get the Heavy Duty Tow Truck ready), and 2 stuck in structures. Again, the South-western corner’s streets as well as a large building just north of the impact site will have the most intense fires, so firefighters & water tenders should split and divert. The priority is to send EMS vehicles in advance but only unloading its personnel if the surroundings are safe. Be quick about the firefighting. One ICTV needs to be positioned just south of the person trapped under a small object while the other north of the site. For people trapped on the balconies, do not hesitate to use the turntable ladder’s monitor to take out the blaze (unlike the water tender, they aren’t needed after the rescue) and send individual ambulances to treat them. Cycle your doctors between casualties to assess their conditions & get more help if the ambulance’ crew are done with their work. The fire won’t get to spread too much this time, so focus on getting all casualties out before anything else.
When the casualties are all stable, concentrate on taking out the remaining fires with the help of Water Tenders.
Nuclear Disaster
Type: Explosion/Radiological Contamination/Forest Fire/Building Fire/Meltdown

Probably only second to a celestial entity and a nuclear war. (EM4 Deluxe commentary suggests that it is based on the Chernobyl incident, so the large amount of Fire Department/Facility Personnel deaths could be attributed to the rush in firefighting and compromising safety standards.) They call it a smear campaign of their enemies, but perhaps they themselves are the very demons they freed……
In this scenario, multiple units have been modified for the purpose of the mission:
- Police Van – Renamed “Evacuation Transporter”. No longer transports Law Enforcement personnel. Used to transport contaminated people that are not sufficiently injured. Also this is the only time it appears in EM20.
- ICTV – Renamed “Rescue Transporter”. No longer transports EMS personnel, and loses its speciality action, allowing it to load casualties without deployment. Used to transport injured and contaminated personnel to medical facilities.
- Heavy Rescue Vehicle – Firefighters are replaced with their HAZMAT counterparts.
- Water Tender – No longer transports Fire Department personnel.
The explosion distributed dangerous radioactive particles everywhere. Due to this, regular EMS personnel can no longer enter the vicinity. Only Firefighters with HAZMAT suits can wander around safely. This is not helped by the fact that only eight firefighters are available.
Your first objective would be to deploy 2 Heavy Rescue Vehicles some distance south of the burning trees. Deploy 1 Decontamination Vehicle to the casualties within the nuclear power plant and instruct the firefighters to grab the injured. The Rescue Transporter needs to be ready too. One water tender should ideally be cooling Reactor B to prevent its ignition. The two other water tenders can do very little, so just get them working on some burning structures.
Right after the Heavy Rescue Vehicle’s arrival, get everyone out and with a chainsaw equipped. Use the fire’s spread to your advantage when you cut down trees and bushes that would have propagated fire spread. You only need to create a barrier strong enough to insulate the blaze and they’ll burn out over time anyway. In the meantime, get the other firefighters to grab contaminated people – while they will not automatically reach out for the contaminated those holding onto one will eventually walk to the decontamination vehicle on their own and do their job. Don’t forget to manually load the casualties too. Unlike paramedics, they don’t enter when loading casualties and so take much less time. If no casualties are nearby, send that decontamination truck to the city too and begin sterilizing contaminated personnel while getting the Evacuation Transporter on your side. If the firefighters are done cutting trees, get them equipped with fire hoses and start taking out blazes.
If the initial 5 casualties are all loaded, just click on the unload button or use E and the Rescue Transporter automatically speeds off to a massive medical tent, unloading them instantly. Also if people remain contaminated for too long they will be injured, so you’ll need to find and relocate the vehicle. Your priority is to save all lives and evacuate endangered people.
When no civilians are around, get the firefighters & the heavy rescue vehicle back, then gradually close onto the fires. 8 Firefighters & 2 water tenders will eventually overpower the blazes anyway if you’ve paid attention to the mission map.
When this mission has been completed, you’ll receive the achievement “Saving the world since 1998”, the sole evidence of your fight against the headwind. Well done!

- 用鼠标左键选择人员和车辆,拖动可以让你选择一个范围内的单位。切记不要在需要某个单位的时候时候选错 – 一点偏差可以在任务中可以决定你的成败。左键点击空白的地方会取消选择,而按住SHIFT可以允许你仅仅选择人员并忽略车辆。
- 如果有一台车辆里有人员你可以右键点击一台车辆或者左键点击“卸载乘员”的按钮,这样他们就可以下车开工。如果要返回车辆,请选择相关人员,然后右击相关车辆。
- 如果某个单位右键点击不会涉及自己的技能,这一般只会让所选单位移动到你选择的位置。
- 重型救援车,云梯车,洗消车和泵车都有带车俩消防人员.

- 警官需要装备手铐才能逮捕罪犯,而如果嫌疑人没有被瘫痪他们会攻击警官,导致他们扣血甚至被瘫痪,所以务必确保目标已经失去反抗能力。如果他俩打起来了,你仍然可以通过瘫痪罪犯结束打斗并立刻将其逮捕。如果你要使用致命力量,嫌犯会需要被治疗送医,因此不到万不得已(如嫌犯即将逃跑或者对执法人员造成巨大威胁时)不要开枪。
- 当重型吊车正在搬运某个东西时,你可以给该车辆提供第二个目标。一旦它完工就会试图进行下一个任务。
- 泵车拥有强大的灭火力量和高机动型,因此你应当确保这些大家伙能够随时被调度。至于里面的消防员应该下车拿出消防工具。如果周围没有消防栓,消防员可以将水管插入泵车的后方,不过这会导致泵车在所有水管被拔下之前无法移动,但不影响其他功能。
- 强烈建议不要用云梯车灭火。它的转速非常差,会间接导致火灾疯狂蔓延。但如果配合泵车和消防员这些更灵活的单位的时候自己的灭火效率会大大增加。
- 单位可能会因为各种伤害来源(罪犯枪弹,肉搏攻击和周围燃烧的物体等)掉血甚至被瘫痪。如果该单位没有被瘫痪并被送回基地,会自动满血,但手里的装备会被移除 – 这意味着消防员需要再去通过重型救援车获取它们。
- 谨慎部署你的单位 – 如果被挡住你可能要花不少时间注意到并解决问题。若无法到达目标,单位会说“我们无法访问该位置,我们应当选择另外一个区域进行自我部署!”
- 随着难度增加,伤员掉血速度更快,应急单位受到的伤害更高,并且在某些任务中可用的应急单位会更少。如果有一个伤员只有20%血系统会说“警告,我们需要在现场伤员死亡之前迅速抢救他们!”注意的是这个提示只会播放一次 – 哪怕任务中会出现更多的伤者也一样!
- 所有的单位都有对火焰,枪击和肉搏的抗性。如果拥有100%抗性(举个例子:消防员的火焰抗性是100%),它们不会受到伤害。车辆免疫这三种威胁,所以如果医护团队被火焰威胁的时候你可以将其送回救护车。当然,爆炸仍然可以摧毁车辆并伤及内部人员。
- 医护团队漏洞百出,因此可能会妨碍其他单位乃至整个行动。不过在急难先锋20里他们的移动速度被大幅度增加,自然运输伤员也更快。不过,相比于其他的威胁,运送伤员可以后面慢慢来,因为伤情被稳定之后伤者不会死亡。
- 有些车辆的载员是从相关相应人员的群组里抽出(如警官乘警车)的。如果你需要空车搬走人员,你可以在发车之前将其手动移除。
- 左键点击一个成员可以让其独自离开车。
- 如果有伤者死亡,应急单位被瘫痪或者火势失控,任务会失败。
- 在设置中激活单位自动化行为可以帮你个大忙。
- 一旦某任务被解锁,你可以看下配套的幕后视频。该视频包括开发者对这个任务的设计思路以及一些其他细节。你甚至可以看到原版任务的游玩过程。当然这些家伙都是德国人,因此建议开下字幕。当然我的确欣赏这帮德国人的逻辑。
- 如果任务局势无法控制别等到失败,赶紧重开。
单位简介
这些是单位技能的描述。我还会列出它们在哪些任务中露脸。
值得一提的是这只会描述困难模式。难度低的时候你可能会有更多的车辆和对应单位。
- 重型救援车 – 运输两个消防员。消防员需要从该车中获取装备。(所有任务中出现)
- 泵车 – 用它强大的水枪对火焰一阵喷。可以被至多四名消防员的水带提供连接点,但会接水管会导致它无法移动。运输两个消防员(出现于除了连环车祸,雪崩和列车事故的所有任务中)
- 云梯车 – 可以用云梯进行高空救援,也可以利用内嵌式水枪灭火。运输两个消防员。 (出现于纵火犯,雪崩,列车事故,烟花工厂和陨石撞击)

街头赛车
种类:道路事故/建筑火灾/过失杀人/超速/爆炸
虽然话说在前面,你其实无法阻止竞赛。如果任何应急单位靠近它们就会开赛。先部署所有的消防单位(奇怪的是任何警笛都能把他们吓跑,警察叔叔在不在都一样)(原版中失事车辆被完全烤焦,不需要要消防员切开车辆而只需要拖吊车运走,所以可能司机其实已经被炸死了)
过场动画:一台蓝色和橙色的轿车(在莫名其妙的瞬移之后)发动了它们的引擎。一个赛车女郎在起跑线多次舞动一个标志。但在竞速开始后几秒内,橙车突然转向右边,撞击了数名行人以及一堵墙后被反弹。碰撞导致的爆炸点燃了周围的建筑。橙车被倾覆,而蓝车无所事事的从它旁边经过。
部署一切消防单位(如果你之前没有这么做的话)以及所有的救援力量和一台警车到现场。你也可以选择现在召唤拖吊车但这并不是首要任务。当应急车辆在路上的时候蓝车司机会从西北到东南逃跑。他的位置地图上有,且警车可以轻松到达。让警官在罪犯前方一点点的位置下车。罪犯没有武器,也不会主动攻击,因此强烈不建议使用致命力量。直接用辣椒水喷他(装备一个物品之后右键点击到可用的目标上使用)然后铐住司机。随后,把警车停在附近,然后它会带着他们冲回基地。
车祸现场有三个可见的伤者,而第四个被困在橙车里。命令泵车熄灭距离伤员最近的火焰 – 完事了之后检查下周围的火焰并扑灭它们。让重型救援车里的消防员下车并让其中一个拿起液压切割器以救援卡在橙车里的司机。没事干的消防员们应该拿起水管用附近的消防栓协助灭火。救援人员应该在距离火焰有一定距离的地方下车。迅速让医生治疗伤员并顺便监视下橙车。当医生治好一个伤者之后赶紧把他们移动到下一个。
现在场面应当处于可控状态下了。在燃烧的建筑前面部署两台拖吊车(如果他们目前不在场的话)并没收两台涉事车辆以及任何因为火焰受损的载具。这应该很直白。救护车这时候估计已经带着伤员回到医院而之后它们必须被再次派出接走剩下的两个。如果还有火苗,先用泵车进行压制,并同时让消防员缓慢的进行围剿。
纵火犯
种类:建筑火灾/纵火/谋杀
注意:纵火犯必定穿一件灰色的大衣/衬衫。这可以方便你辨认与逮捕此人。虽说伤员这个任务中撑不过两分钟,该任务区域较小,故而优化了反应时间(我本人唯一一个金牌任务)。
火灾会在城市里的一个随机建筑里出现,而有一个处于生命危险的人会被困在阳台上,因此灭火难度根据周围的可燃物体会有所变化-切记速战速决,否则火会蔓延到车上,迫使你派遣拖吊车移除它们。部署俩泵车镇压烈焰,云梯车则需要救下被困人员。警车和救护车也需要在旁边待命,而医生需要做好迎接伤者的准备。云梯车也可以在这个任务中当替补泵车 – 虽说迟缓,但你只需要它进行一次救援。
在第一次火灾燃烧时或者被熄灭后第另一起火灾会在城市里某个位置出现。纵火犯在刚起火之时不会走太远,因此警车应当被派遣到他的相对位置。如果被任何单位发现,他的标志会在地图上显示。迅速拦截并逮捕他。如果他被捕,一个瓦布乐消息(类似推特)会出现,写着 “纵火犯已被捕” 和一张警官捉拿他的照片。把他放进车里然后警官们会送他进监狱。
第二个建筑会有人困在里面。门有可能会被上锁,所以消防员可能需要一把斧。不管怎么样你都得把把剩下的一台重型救援车派遣到那里让消防员救出伤者。第二台救护车也应当被派遣到现场。因为伤者距离火焰太近,你应当让消防员将其拖行一段距离,以确保医生可以安全进行治疗,除非火焰已经被其他消防单位扑灭。总之,剿灭剩下的所有火焰,治愈伤者并将其带走。
连环车祸
种类:道路事故/载具火灾
事故现场有9台车辆残骸和8个伤者。一些堆积的车辆在燃烧。将俩重型救援车部署到那些燃烧的车附近,两台救护车应该出现它们前面,而警车应该在隔离带那里停下 – 它不应当阻挡应急车辆。此外你还可以将工程师的车放在电箱那里,而拖吊车应该出现在休息区。
两个消防员需要拿起灭火器(高速路上没有消防栓)并开始扑灭那些零散的小火苗,而另外两位需要开始用液压切割器撬开残骸。优先选择小车,因为油罐车没有被困人员。同时卸下救护车的人员-有三名伤者被甩出,而他们需要立刻被治疗。若要移除四名旁观人员,让一名警官带上喇叭。右键选择警官之后直到被手动取消之前,周围的平民都会跟着将他们引走的警察叔叔。如果工程师到了,让他先去维修电箱,因为这可能要花去好几分钟。
熄灭所有的燃烧车辆之后,给剩下的俩消防员液压切割器并检查之前被忽略的车。如果目前没有需要消防员的任务,把消防员挪走以便其他单位通行。你也可以通过选择性的移除容易拖走的车来清理现场。记得保持对医生的监视,如果有太多伤员或者他们治疗完成的话赶紧送到下一个那里。将救护车停到伤员附近以减少响应时间。确保救护车和拖吊车不堵塞高速路并且在可用的时候被立刻派遣就好。
雪崩
种类:机械故障/自然灾害
因为道路受阻,起重机得移除躺在地上的一块混凝土以保证其他单位能过去。不是俩搜救犬车,工程师的车,重型救援车和云梯车。云梯需要救援一个被困在屋顶上的人,但之后可以直接送回基地。
等起重机移除残骸之后,把工程师的车部署到停车场。他需要下车步行维修电气故障因为最近的道路被裸露的危险电线拦住了 – 这东西可以秒杀任何碰到它的一切。如果电线没修好,它会导致一场火灾并伤到三个人。一台搜救犬车需要放在中间的隔断中,另一台则需要在马路更远的地方部署 – 狗跑得慢,因此如果驯养员得放在一个方便的位置以便大幅度减少搜索时间 – 12个伤员中有六个不知所踪并需要被快速找到。注意狗找到人的时候系统会放提示音。
狗开工的时候,消防员需要拿起液压切割器并开始破拆3个残骸,而起重机需要吊起两个困住伤员的障碍物。重症监护运输车最晚需要这个时候登场。把它放停车场里然后让人员开始干事。两个救护车也应该到这 – 它们可以方便的搬运被搜救犬找到的偏远伤员,而大救护车可以对付那些近一点的人。
派遣医生治疗伤者并持续监视搜救犬 – 它们一定得快去快回。一旦找到人,让医生检查多名伤员并确保他们可以存活。当所有伤者被发现并治疗后,任务变得非常简单 – 剩下工作就是把大家拉走。
超级油轮
种类:航海事故/建筑火灾/载具火灾/机械故障
超级油轮泄露的燃料点燃了附近的一个仓库和其他一些工业设施。三名船员已经跳水,而其他一些码头工人不知去向。用一个泵车为油轮中间降温,一个对付周围的化合物容器(以一切代价避免火焰蔓延到周围的工业设施那里),还有一个对付仓库的左下角。第二和第三附近各需要一台重型救援车。第三台泵车附近的消防员需要全部下车并对建筑区块降温以避免火焰扩散(别忘了让泵车也来帮忙)。对于其他的消防载具来说直接让大家下车,拿起水管,然后让系统帮你做事吧。
将两个消防艇部署到油轮右边并趁第一台泵车为救援直升机争取时间的时候熄灭燃烧的船。紧盯着那两艘船并在需要的时候进行手动干预以便发挥它们强大的实力。与此同时将搜救犬车和起重机放在舰首 – 两个伤员不知去向并被埋在沉重的混凝土碎块下。由于泵车阻止了火焰扩散,三个被困的伤员不会跳进冰海里,并可以被安全的用救援直升机拉起。只有在当他们登机之后泵车才能去对抗别的火灾。
将快艇运输车和重症监护运输车放到北边的小码头并卸下所有人员。将快艇丢水里并手动引导到溺水穿园附近,而大救护车需要部署它的扩展件。如果救援直升机目前没事干可以让它抓起一个伤员,丢下(到救护车那里),然后重复。(找不到直升机的请注意,它会在地上留下一个巨大的H光标)。记得关注搜救犬和人起重机以防止错过任何伤员 – 如果没有被治疗,他们六分钟内会死。当伤员都被放下后,降下直升机并使用下车按钮让船员离开。别忘了看下医生,因为伤员很有可能会被放太远。如果成功的话则只会有6个伤员,大救护车可以一波带走。这个时候不涉及灭火的单位可以回家了。
救援完毕后就可以开始接管灭火了。油轮这个时候应该没有明火了,而消防艇最好需要扑灭燃烧的仓库区块 – 如有需要可以降温。熄灭船头的所有火灾并开始侵蚀边角。将你的单位都集中起来并从两个方向夹击 – 泵车打前锋,消防员断后。
列车事故
种类:轨道事故/机械故障
在向各位读者献上我的战术之前,我将为2021/4/2台湾花莲列车事故的遇难者表示深沉的哀悼
两起事故如出一辙 – 一台重型车辆从高处跌落至铁道,并随后被高速行驶的子弹头列车撞击。前者被摧毁,而后者脱轨,导致了重大伤亡
此任务与救火无关。反之,它将一个巨大的挑战摆在了医疗人员和任何辅助他们的单位面前。
一台高速列车碰上了一辆坠落的客车,将其撞了个粉碎,并将18名伤员撒了一地 – 4个人即将被急流冲走,3人被困在一节沉没的车厢里,1人被损坏的电缆包围,1人被重物压迫,1人卡在桥梁钢筋上,而剩下的都被困在其他车厢。如果这种事件出现在现实生活中,应急人员看到满地伤员估计会汗水泪水汇流一地。
任务开始的时候你得部署不少东西。在电力箱那里放一台工程师的车,被埋人员那里放一台重型吊车,而救护车也弄一台在起重机那里。把快艇和蛙人的运输车各自进行部署,并让蛙人立刻开始搜寻失踪人员。云梯车应当开始救援那个命悬一线的人,而其车组需要一些液压切割器 – 有附近有五个可以切开的车厢,而他们需要重型救援车获取装备。等他们拿到工具开始的时候重型救援车需要上桥-有一个摇摇欲坠的车厢需要立刻被切开。把另外一台救护车也放那里。如果工程师没有开工,你得让他关闭电源以解救伤员。
在一个特定的时间点会有一个过场动画:挂在桥梁上的车厢在数次摇摆之后最终被重力拉下水,并被急流冲到一块石头上。如果没提前撬开任务会立刻失败。当它坠河之后把消防员放回车里然后把车移动到桥另外一端并开始破拆。
因为要接受大量伤员,码头周围会是一个重灾区。迅速部署一台重症监护运输车并让其成员开工,而另外一台得被放在北边的小山上。小心部署该车,并确保它不会妨碍医生进行医疗工作,因为快艇送伤员的时候这事可能会发生。
因为只能装三个人,快艇需要两次出动才能将四个溺水人员救回。他们会随着时间慢慢飘走,但快艇的速度可不是吹的。当他们都上岸之后,把它放到蛙人附近,并让他把被救出的人员放上船。
随着夜幕的降临,记得监视所有伤员并派医生治疗他们,而该任务剩下的部分也自然变得简洁明了。切记一定要充分利用重症监护运输车的大容量,而边角地区的伤员仍然需要救护车将其方便的接走。
烟花工厂
种类:建筑火灾/爆炸/过失杀人
工厂由于安全措施不到位导致爆炸(四代动画里是操作错误导致的短路点燃了周围的危险材料。恩斯克灾难的真相由于爆炸摧毁所有证据不得而知),并导致了14人受伤 – 四台交通车辆被炸毁受损,三个被困在受损房屋附近,一个人卡在一块工业机械下,三个隐形伤员被困在混凝土下面,一个在两个燃烧的仓库中间,还有一个在高楼上需要被救援。正如大多数任务一样,该事件节奏飞快。如果再次发生,后果不堪设想。
把所有的泵车放到地图中心让它们慢慢灭火。大小救护车(小的可以用来慢慢搬运伤员)和搜救犬车得放在地图北边靠近马路一点。在那东岌岌可危的房子附近放2台重型救援车,云梯车部署到高楼那里。这个时候最好再派遣起重机。让搜救犬开始寻找伤员并时刻保持对它的关注。
三分钟之后那个摇摇欲坠的建筑会倒塌并压死周围的所有人。3人中2人被残骸挡住,需要消防员移除之后才能拖走。如果医疗人员没下车,他们应该开始行动。与此同时云梯车的团员得开始用液压切割器打开被损坏的车。
如果泵车们完工了得去停车场并在烈焰扩散之前将其压住。如果火灭了则把它们放到有伤员的仓库那里开工。起重机需要移除压住那个人的工业机器以及三块大石头。如果云梯车完工你得让它为建筑降温,以免医生受到威胁。所有的医生可能要不停移动并治疗。如果消防员们都没事干的话还是拿起水管并趁烈焰吞噬地图东边的建筑之前将其扑灭。泵车需要待在工厂附近。当伤员伤势稳定之后赶紧拉走。
最后一个任务就是以过失杀人与玩忽职守罪逮捕工厂的总裁。他整个任务中基本上不会干啥,所以最好放台警车在旁边,但别太靠近 – 这家伙有手枪,因此得确保警察叔叔下车不会被立刻打到。无伤亡逮捕需要你眼疾手快。如果你实在是不相信自己的实力那么还是直接开枪,然后把他也当成伤员送医院。

在这个场景中你需要在正常处理主任务的同时对抗多个事件并合理分配你的力量。
某居民区被大肆破坏,两颗树被吹倒,多人卡在车里或者被埋在残骸下。在那里放一台重型救援车,2台搜救犬车和A residential area has been ravaged with two fallen trees, people stuck in vehicles and those missing are buried by debris. Dispatch a single heavy Rescue vehicle, 2 Search & Rescue Dog vehicles, and the ICTV there. Be mindful of the ICTV’s placement since the Heavy Duty Tow Truck may be obstructed by it. Meanwhile on the North of the map where a crashed tanker rests, dispatch a heavy rescue vehicle, a diver transport vehicle, an ambulance and another heavy duty tow truck. Send a single ambulance to the casualty lying just in front of a house and let them handle that.
Send the search dogs to work immediately and keep an eye on them once in a while. Recall them as soon as a person has been found. The first heavy duty tow truck should be assigned to clear the two trees, one trapping a casualty directly and another blocking access to a parking lot where two casualties must be broken out of their vehicles (alternatively, you can equip a Firefighter with a chainsaw to do so and free up the trucks, but this means they will have to return to a Heavy Rescue Vehicle to change equipment afterwards). A third vehicle is just north of them. The tanker truck must also be broken open and hoisted. If you find any casualties, prioritize rescuing them first. Don’t forget to unload your EMS personnel and administer medical aid. Also, be sure to make use of the Heavy Duty To Truck’s “Task Queue” feature (Assigning it to another object while it is currently occupied) for maximum automation.
First Accident: An SUV approaches the tanker’s crash site, only to be disoriented by the burning wreck of a falling sedan (which is empty). In an effort to avoid it, the vehicle veered off the road and sank.
The diver is needed to locate the sunken vehicle, which can be salvaged by the Heavy Duty Tow Truck and broken open with the firefighter’s help. If the Doctor isn’t attending to the tanker’s passenger, manually assign him to do so.
At this point, you might have discovered all the casualties. Remember that 4 are trapped under debris that need to be removed before they can be accessed. Combined with the other tasks, there are a total of 8 hoisting missions, so leave no crane vacant. The singular doctor not far away should also join the fray by now. Also, in the lower-left of the map, there should be two massive, red fuel tanks. Dispatch a water tender there and allow it to cool the house nearby.
Second Accident: Due to the strong winds, a red fuel tank rolls off its pedestal and into a nearby house. Upon impact, it ruptures, sending heat everywhere while igniting several nearby objects.
The single water tender is sufficient in holding off these small fires. As an added bonus, if you’re cooling the house when the tank struck, it will not catch fire.
Usually, at this point the situation is mostly under control. In the south-east corner three civilians are working on a cargo truck carrying hazardous materials. Send a police car there and order a police officer to evacuate them clear of the truck.
Third accident: A tree weakened by the winds finally succumbs to the storm’s battery and collapses. Its trunk strikes the truck, causing the barrels on board to detonate, setting fires to dozens of nearby objects.
If the workers are not evacuated, they will be injured by the blast. While they will not die and cause the mission to fail, the fires would seriously hamper rescue efforts, especially considering the scarcity of FD units during this mission (6 firefighters and 1 water tender). Make use of the water tender’s integrated hydrants to assist in firefighting.
