Overview
This guide was made to determine the best lower-tier elite infantry in the game.
So what is lower-tier elite infantry????
Lower-tier elite infantry is elite infantry that is not the best of that nation, but is better than ordinary line infantry.
How this Works
Ok, due to some complaints about my previous guide, Each match was fought 5 times to prevent a unit winning from a single lucky blow
Match 1: Black Watch vs. Infantry Vieux
I was a bit suprised here. The French Infantry Vieux cost 1200 to the Black Watch’s 1180. They both platoon fire. The Infantrie Vieux won the first fight, but the Watch won the next….and never stopped winning. I didn’t play a 5th match because the Watch already won 3
Black Watch 3-1 Infantrie Vieux
Match 2: US Marines vs. Cairo Jannisaries
Ok, I personally think marines are awesome despite having only 90 soldiers. They also are one of the few American units who can platoon-fire. Cairo Jannisaries are classed as “elite infantry”
How do they stack up?
Marines took every match. The Ottomans didn’t even rank fire. OO-RAH marines!
US Marines 3-0 Cairo Jannisaries
Match 3: United Provences Swiss Infantry vs. Swedish Superior Line Infantry
At first glance these units look like different colored versions of each other, but there’s a major difference: Swiss fire by rank, Superior Line fires by platoons.
The result? A sweep by the Superior Line. There was also at least one bout of melee in this round.
Swiss Infantry 0-3 Superior Line Infantry
Match 4: Royal Ecossais vs. Prussian Superior Line Infantry
Ok, I want to go on the record to say that the Royal Eccosais look like French Black Watch.
Also, the Prussian Superior Line fought valiantly, and although the Frenchmen took it, the Prussians won a battle.
Royal Ecossais 3-1 Prussian Superior Line Infantry
Round 2 Match 1: US Marines vs. Swedish Superior Line Infantry
Ok, I was disappointed with the Marines, but I guess numbers matter sometimes. Despite better accuracy and reload speed, the 90 marines couldn’t match up with the 120 Line.
However, I was pleasantly surprised when the Marines won a match. Furthermore, I think its fair to say that even though they lost, marines are a good buy, and can hold their own.
US Marines 1-3 Swedish Superior Line Infantry
Round 2 Match 2: Royal Ecossais vs. Black Watch
Ok, I KNOW everyone is looking forward to this match, and these two fearsome units did NOT disappoint. In the first match, the Watch won just by volleys. But in the second match, something utterly crazy happened:
The Black Watch charged after less than 2 full volleys, and at this time the Ecosais were ahead in damage caused. BUT within SECONDS of them closing, the Watch laid out 40 plus frenchmen, and won!
The Ecossais won the 3rd match which also ended in melee. In the 4th match, the Watch charged at the start again, also the Ecossais had more men again. The two sides furiously fought, but to my surprise, the Watch passed the Ecossais, and forced them to retreat with around 30 men left.
The Black Watch 3-1 Royal Ecosais
Championship match: Swedish Superior Line Infantry vs. The Black Watch
Ok, if anyone was surprised that superior line lasted this long, well so am I.
However, the Black Watch put them in their place with a wash. All these matches were fought at max range, and although the Swedes got ahead a few times, the Watch always prevailed.
The Black Watch 3-0 Swedish Superior Line Infantry
All hail the Black Watch, ETW’s deadliest lower-tier elite infantry!!!!!
Results
Well there you have it, the Black Watch are the best, and the top 3 would go:
1. Black Watch
2. Swedish Superior Line Infantry
3. Royal Ecossais
