Entering the Inactive Lava Zone And Leaving From There Alive. [outdated]

Overview

This guide will tell you the easiest way to get to the Inactive Lava Zone and Active Lava Zone and even get out from there! All that is required is a close confrontation with a Reaper!

So I’m standing on my emergency pod, watching the sun rise…

So! You’ve decided that it is in your best interest to explore the curious inactive lava zone and the active lava zone connected to it! You’ve heard that the entrance is located in the second blood kelp zone, the grand reef or the crash zone probably. We’re going to take the crash zone entrance, because it is in an extremely simple location.

We’re going to the hi-tech looking wheelie thingy in the front end of the Aurora, from there I must warn you, there is a Reaper 50 meters below you. If you’re not afraid, proceed to make your acquaintance to her. If the Aurora has blown up, go to the ripped-apart section of the ship that is burning and looks dangerous.

Are you sure you’re ready to face the reaper? Alright we’re going to where the reaper usually patrols. Before we do that, we’re going to press F3 and enable ‘Visualize Depth’ by pressing 7.
The screen will turn into white and black.

With this supervision we can see distance. As you can probably figure, the whiter the color is, the more distance there is. With this we will make your first time venturing down the cave easier, so you can do it with much more confidence on later times. This includes meeting the reaper every single time, unless you use another entrance (with crabsquids..)

There’s that cute lil’ fella making her rounds. We want to go to a tunnel below her!

The more you venture down the hill, you notice something happening, ground is generating while the walls are not. This is the cave entrance.

So we’re past the reaper and are making our way down the cave. The cave is big enough for a skilled cyclops captain

Go towards the light at all times, you are not likely to get lost. Sometimes we have pillars going through the cave, but they shouldn’t cause any problems.

This ridge is after halfway the cave. There are two crevices left and right of it. You should go into either one of them, because the ridge is going to conjoin with the roof of the cave and block any further progress. The two crevices, however, will still lead you forward. I took the left one.

Here’s where it joins with the cave roof, we’re getting very close.

just a bit more, this part is very linear and we’re getting to the entrance.
You can see funny rock formations in the distance, these distinguish the Aurora entrance when we’ll make our exit, but that’s later.

Woah.

We got here, very cool! I mean, hot!

Right beneath you, the moment you get out from the cave and enter the massive kingdom of the Dragon Leviathan, you can see some holes or smaller entrances BELOW you.

These are entrances to the Active Lava Zone

These are a bit harder to navigate, but if you use the depth visualizing, you shouldn’t get lost, disappear from the map or anything.

If you’ve learned about white being good and black being not good, you should see something like this after some time. Using the supervision, you can find many entrances into the Inactive Lava Zone. You can explore around, welcome to the Lava Zone!

It’s getting hot, I gotta get outta here!

If you’ve explored the throne room of the Lava Castle, discovered all the secrets and collected all the plants, it’s presumably in your interest to find your way back to your base. There are three different entrances out from the Inactive Lava Zone, one that leads back to the front end of the Aurora, one that leads to the Secondary Blood Kelp Zone, north from Lifepod 5 and one that leads to the dangerous-for-Cyclops tunnels of the Grand Reef. Below I will list what entrances take you where.

This is what the tunnel to SECONDARY BLOOD KELP ZONE looks like!

This is what the tunnel to GRAND REEF looks like!

This is what the tunnel back to AURORA looks like! if you can’t find this one, be sure to check all three entrances to the Inactive Lava Zone for the one with the smaller tunnels to the Active Lava Zone in front of it!

Just follow the same advice, use the depth visualizing. Inside these tunnels there are even more secrets to uncover. It is your own decision which tunnel you want to take, but don’t forget the crabsquids and the reaper!
