Equipments for Total War: ROME II - Emperor Edition

Equipments

Overview

In this quick guide i will tell you something about equipments that you can deploy in city assault/defend

equipment for attackers

The attackers need siege equipment to get in a fortified city or port, im gonna tell you something about these equipments.

Siege tower: this siege equipment is used to climb walls of a city, when you drive the tower to the wall the units inside the tower are protected with a leather or iron wall

Battering Ram: this siege equipment is used to break down walls and gates of a city. however, when you have broken down a gate and walk inside, oil will fall on your people so i recomend you break down walls instead of gates and avoid the oil.

Gallery: this siege equipment provides protection from archers. it cannot break down walls or gates, it is just for the safety of your men.

Ladder: this siege equipment is used to climb smaller walls. it is fast but the people behind it are unprotected.

upgrades: the gallery, battering ram and siege tower can be upgraded. you have light, medium and heavy protection for your equipment.

The attackers can also use catapults or ballistas to shoot down walls or archer towers.

equipment for defenders

When you are defending a city you can deploy usefull traps.

fireballs: this equipment is a hay ball that rolls down the hill while on fire running over all the units that comes in its way, but you need one unit to set the balls on fire and roll them down the hill.

sharp stone beds: this equipment is very effective at a small place where enemy troops have to go through. if they walk on the stones there speed is greatly reduced so they become a easy target for archers.

Spike traps: this trap is hidden under the ground. when a soldier steps on it the ground will collapse and he will fall on spikes that kills him. only 1 unit dies and there are 10-15 traps.

Sudes caltrops: these sharp caltrops kills mounted units from every angle, most usefull in big area’s

Stakes: these sharp stakes are almost the same as the sudes caltrops but only do damage from one angle, its a good trap to put archers behind them out of the range from horses. most usefull in small area’s.

Barricade: this is a simple wooden wall that the enemy need destroy first before able to pass through it.

Brimstone pits: these are fire pits that can be ignited with fire arrows and set the enemy on fire. they can also be activated with a unit nearby that set them on fire.
