Overview
In this guide I will explain how to unlock essential features in the game and give an explination to how every mechanic in the game works to make it easier to get further in the game.
Basic Explinations of the games features
How to unlock content – All content is unlocked by completing dreams so the more dreams you fulfill the more content is available for the game.
How radiating works – When ever you encounter anything new in the game you will unlock the option to radiate it in either the Monsters tab or the Gifts tab. When you radiate a gift you will unlock a description/story about the gift/monster and stats that go along with it. You will also be able to see what the monster/gift will be when you encounter it in story mode instead of a question mark.
Quickplay – This is a gamemode that allows you to practice and hown your skills with certain gifts and monsters. how you unlock monsters to fight and gifts to fight them with is by radiating gifts and monsters. Quickplay is also a major part of the completion of the heart on the save file page as there are over 200 medals to get between all the monsters and level variances and all the achievements that you unlock by completing.
Karma – When in story mode you gain karma by how well you defeat a monster and what level the moster is or through gifts that you earn. What it does is its basicly a luck statistic for the run. The higher karma you have the higher chances you will have more monsters to choose from, more gifts from the monsters you will fight, What the star quality of the gift will be, if the gifts from the monster will be locked due to a challenge, and increase the chances of all events happening excluding the radiate tetrids event. The event to encounter anomaly is actually based inversely so the lower amount of karma you have the higher chance of its appearance will be.
Motes/Tetrids – Motes and tetrids are the basic currency of the game there is green, red, yellow, blue, orange, purple, and radiant. The first 5’s order is based off of the order of colors in guitar hero. There are 2048 motes in a tetrid and you earn motes by defeating monsters in quick play or story mode. However radiant motes can only be earned in story mode by facing event bosses and final bosses like Anomaly, Nix Polyps, Tox Polyps, The Void, and Totaria. They are used to radiate monsters and gifts and to expand the synapse inventories.
Synapse – The synapse is a tool used to give away a gift in the middle of a run so you can use it at the start of another run. There are two seperate banks you can fill 6 stars of cards each, one for Boiler, and one for Scrambla. you will only be able to put in gifts into a synapse one boss after you fight one of the bosses to trigger it (in story mode). When in it you can add as many gifts and delete as many gifts that are currently in there as you want. You also have the option to permanantly upgrade it up to 6 star’s of storage. The last thing you can do in there is give it tetrids so at the end of the run you can encounter it again to put more end game gifts into it. how ever you can only take out gifts to use from the synapse at the beginning of a Story mode run.
Focus Shot – Most people think focus mode does absolutely nothing besides slow you down. Your half correct there but your also half wrong. Focus mode is used and has use when you get gifts for it that will increase your fire rate and damage dealt when in focus and it will decrease the arc of which your bullets fire IE when having feather shots or multiple hearts being fired from your charactor. Another use for it is if you have helpers for bullet firing they will stay in place and possibly also increase a stat with their shots In the future there will also probably be a gift that turns it into a shield so you take less damage when in focus. Some people like me also like to spam it at the end of a fight because it makes your charactor flash and releave stress from a difficult fight.

Motes
How motes are calculated is a weird thing and there’s too many variables and unknown equations to say exact numbers but i can list factors to help you get an idea on how to increase what you get
-Getting a long combo will give you more motes as the scale for it is exponential for example getting 3 33% combos will give maybe 400 motes total where as getting 2 50% combos will give 600 motes total or a 100% combo giving 1200 motes total
-Breaking pieces of the monsters (this is especially important for quick play radiant medals) it varies a lot between monsters to love but each piece broken in a monster will give a set number of motes ranging from potentially 6-300 dependent on monsters piece and level.
-you can tell the color of the mote by the card of the monster at the bottom right corner’s color of the symbol within (check section 2 of the guide if you haven’t radiated a monster)
-at the beginning of the round you will start with a 25% mote bonus until you get hit then it will reduce to 10% and if you get hit a second time the bonus will reduce to 0
———————————————————————————
How to calculate what karma you will get
-Loving the monster +2 karma
-Golden mote score +1 -> Radiant mote score +2 karma
-Did not panic +1 karma
-only got hit once +1 karma -> Did not get hit +2 karma
-50% combo +1 karma -> 100% full combo +2 karma
-for the bonus of the level of the monster it will be the same karma as the monsters level. however in heavy rain it’ll be -2 of the level and in torrential rain it will be -4 of the level for the karma you will receive

I will try to update this with more info as the game updates and if there’s anymore things anyone would like to know about the game mathematically and post it here rather than FAQ
Frequently asked questions
I will attempt to update this section if something is ever asked in the discord or in the comments of this guide and is not covered in this guide and post the question and answer to it.
Whats the discord invite? – [link]
Will you post a list of all achievements, what gifts are unlocked with them, and a list of all the gifts? – No because that is roughly 500 images and aint nobody got time for that.
Will you post a list of the diologue – No but i will eventually tell you the file locations of all the diologue if anyone is seriously wanting it.
Hey you made a typo/gramatical mistake in this location – if i see this anywhere ill fix it if i feel like its a bad error.
How do I get the finely scrambled achievement? – This was a pain even for me to get. main issue was dealing too much damage to it, i used paper cut for +1 heart damage and then a lot of health boosters for gifts. with that small damage boost it allowed me to kill the spawn i call mines that explode into bullets after they are destroyed with only one charged shot. then i just dodged everything else on the screen. you can kill a few of the other spawn but hardly any. dont worry about the combo.
