Overview
This guide is all about different resources that can be automatically mined. We are gonna talk about some information about the items, including prices.Note: Prices change system to system. We are gonna talk about how farms work. This guide is not about exploits.I hope you all will enjoy. Thanks for clicking on this guide.
Getting started
To make a farm, you need to get the Mineral Extractor, Gas Extractor, Supply Depot and the Supply Pipe. Those can be bought for Salvaged Data in the Anomaly.
You also need to get a Visor Upgrade, for your Multi-tool, to locate hotspots of power, gas and minerals. To get the Visor upgrade, buy the Survey Device blueprint, at the Anomaly.
You pay Nanites clusters to get the Survey Device.
If you dont know how to get into the Anomaly, do this:
You need to go to space, press X, then go once to the left and you can see “Summon the space anomaly” and just press Enter.
Just fly inside and go to the back of it and you can buy the things you need, inside the anomaly. There’s some sellers.
A little more help, on the right side if you look from where u landed, you can walk up and talk to some people. If you have done some exploring, and scanned a lot of things, you can get a nice reward of Nanites depending on how much you scanned.

Find the correct planet
You know what you wanna farm? great! if not, then i recommend Activated Indium, its good money. Best farm you can make, if you just go for money.
Inside your space ship, look towards a planet, press C and scan the planet.
You can see, as you can on the picture above, a list of resources on the planet.
If what you’re looking for is there, then go land and search for the hotspot.
If Its not on any planet inside your current solar system, then go to another one.
Remember that Copper, Indium, Emeril, Cadmium and their Activated isotopes are only in special kinds of systems.
Copper can only be found in orange systems.
Indium can only be found in blue systems.
Emeril can only be found in green systems.
Cadmium can only be found in red systems.
Find the Hotspot
Alright, you found the planet.
You step out of your space ship. Use your visor with the new upgrade.
Hold F and then you have the options to switch between some options.
You switch between the options, by pressing 1 and 3 to go left and right.
Now you go search for what you are looking for.
There’s S class, A class, B class and C class Farms.
You can see the class before you scan the hotspot.
If you aren’t within 450-500 units of the hotspot, then you will be out of range.
You can listen for sounds, if you use headphones with surround sound.
If you should go left, then you will only hear sound in your left ear.
If you should go right, then you will only hear sound in your right ear.
If you are going the right way, then its both ears.
When you are in range of the hotspot, then you dont need headphones.
You can now see which way to go. Its pretty easy to figure out. Same concept as the sound thing above, go left if it only displays on the left, if its straight then it will display on both sides, if its right side, then it only display on the right side.
when you arrive at the hotspot, then press E where you are, so you can see where the hotspot is.
Now you switch to power so you can find a cheap way to get a lot of power to your machines.
How to build
I have pretty basic designs, but they produce a lot resources.
I have my farm inside a square base, with a short range teleporter inside.
I always start with the power.
Hold E while you hold F and had the visor HUD up, as i recommended, while looking directly at the icon for your mineral or gas hotspot. press E while having the visor down (hold F for visor) while looking at the ground at the Electromagnetic power so you know that distance. Build small buildings with only Short-Range Teleporters inside. Each short-Range Teleporter.
Now that you got the teleporter building, press E and look at the teleporter thats gonna get you closer to the mineral or gas hotspot. Repeat this until you are at the hotspot.
A short-Range Teleporter can teleport 200 units.
the marker doesnt count height, so if it says 200 exactly and you cant, its because one of the teleportation buildings might be on a hill. i usually go for 190 units distance.
My Mineral/gas farms are basically the same as my power farms.
small base around the farm. I do the bases because storms are annoying and then no more life support consumption.
Then i just make a giant tower of depots, because they have to be placed somewhere.
Remember to connect all your things with power and a supply line.
All depots are extractors need a supply line connected.
I usually put in one line of extractors or electromagnetic and then connect it with power and supply pipes. It makes it much easier to make sure everything is connected and running.
My personal tips
1) when you have found both power and your gas or mineral farm, then build a base around the farm.
2) have a Square Room or a Cylindrical Room nearby, for shopping and selling.
You can only put Galactic Trade Terminals in those kinds of rooms.
3) Be able to teleport between your power hotspot and mineral hotspot. Its not often you go there, but i always just make them, if needed for some reason. This is not at all needed.
4) you will need a lot of ferrite dust for this, since the Extractors and the Supply Depot require Metal Plates. Buy the ferrite dust and Metal Plates from Galactic Trade Terminals and npcs at Trading Outposts and Space Stations and Freighters. Therefore, look for the race of aliens that is in the system, before you travel to a system. If it doesn’t have a race, then find another system so you can get your resources easily and fast.
5) Start with getting a copper farm. Refine the copper and you will get Chromatic Metal. You need Chromatic Metal for Base Computers, Gas Extractors and Mineral Extractors.
6) I usually have enough storage for 20k, because its not always that a stack is enough but 99% of the time you don’t need 2 stacks. However for my copper farm i have 46k storage, so i wouldn’t run short Chromatic Metal.
Mineral Extractors and Gas Extractors have storage for 250 resources.
Supply Depots have storage for 1000 resources.
7) Get a Base teleport module, so you can get back to the farm fast and easy.
8) For your Activated Indium farm, i recommend getting a lot of storage and a lot of extractors so u can make a lot of money and fast!
