Overview
if your just starting or you have survived hundreds of days on world 5 you should listen to what i have to say to increase your odds of surviving
getting started
*make a save of your entire game folder befor starting incase you go over bored or the developers change some of the core code. i am not liable if you break your game*
ok befor you start playing the game what your going to want to do is open your dont starve game folder and go to data then scripts.
when your there open recipes with notepad (dont let the lua file designation fool you its just a fancy text file) then your going to want to change one of the vest recipies since 16 hound teeth for daper vest is unreasonable or one of the koalaphant trunk vest since those things dont realy exist its just a bad developers joke. i would suggest finding the winter vest at the bottom and changing it to this :
Recipe(“trunkvest_winter”, {Ingredient(“beefalowool”, 4),Ingredient(“silk”, 4)}, RECIPETABS.DRESS, TUNING.RESEARCH_COST_EXPENSIVE, 2)
its a fair recipy since youll probably find beefaloo befor winter and a razor is easy to construct
now befor i continue i know what your thinking “omg bro da game ish guna update wut i duz than?” well the game can only update IF you have steam in online mode when you double click the icon/exe for it. soooo play in offline mode and have a back up of what you have done to make the adjustments to updated files easyer when and if you decide to “update”
now if you have survived for a while you know those damn hounds are a problem some times. 8 hounds chasing you to beefalo hurds is demasculating . your a man damn it act like one (FACT:if your on the internet you are male) open up the hounded file in components folder that is in the scripts
and as you look through the file you will see here and there :
self.attackdelayfn = self.attack_delays.
self.attacksizefn = self.attack_levels.
any time you see these change what follows to :
self.attackdelayfn = self.attack_delays.frequent
self.attacksizefn = self.attack_levels.intro.numhounds
now those dirty hounds guna pay and you can start to make a small collection of teeth to line your property as tooth traps
you get the picture befor long youll get the hang of it and have a magical fire staf that will do 150 base damage befor fire dot damage each hit and will never expire and deerclops will think twice befor running up on your base
