Overview
This is used to help the faction 3 lovers of reassembly to get on their feet and destroy anything, even ships from faction 5.
Introduction
Faction 3 is considered one of the hardest factions there is. There is many more disadvantages than there are benefits, but if there is a will, there is a way. With this guide I’ll show you the basics of how to start off with faction 3 then the end game (my game more specifically) of what faction 3 can become later on. Please give any criticism for this guide where criticism is due and I’ll try to fix this and make it any better if needed be.
Weclome, to what I call the ‘zergling’ faction.
I would like to thank Incinarator for help giving me the ideas to bettering this faction.
Starting off
One of the few benefits to faction 3 is:
-Powerful starting allies (research centers are surprisingly powerful allies)
-Quick regeneration
-Cheap, really cheap parts (a laser can cost 3p and a gun can cost 6p)
Now right off the bat, press 1 and change your ship as your ship is worth around 100p and the max limit is 300 and design it any way you want
Tip: Mobility is a great friend when starting off so you can get out of bad situations quickly.
Then stick around your allies and farm R and C from them and liberate or recover any research centers with them
But be warned you will die… a lot…
A lot…. a lot of dying…. especially from the start
Hard work pays off
After enough farming, enough recovering and so on so forth, you’ll have a lot of money and you’ll need to know what you should get so here are the requirements for your major ship build:
-Factory
-Bigger thrusters
-Tempest
-Drone Launchers
Once you buy all of those and get close to 1000P, you’ll be able to start your war en massing ship of destruction
Here’s my design to give a good basis of how it should turn out. It doesn’t have to be the same build but you’ll want more than one factory and you’ll want drone launchers. Imagine this faction as the zerg faction, you are the queen, and your drones are your spawnlings.
Quick tip: Design your ship hull to have penroses connecting throughout the whole ship, basically making the skeleton. This will allow your ship to regenerate faster and never use your guns to be main connector pieces.
This may sound confusing, but your other pieces can’t renegerate until the ones they are connected are already regenerated.
Extra: I usually have drones all set to the right mouse button, tempest and phasers I bind to left mouse button, and the lasers I have bound to point defense, even the regular lasers.
After you make your ship, start gathering some more resources around your allies and within safety, with enough resources you an start your army.
[Insert evil laugh]
Now it may seem small but this is just the beginning of becoming powerful.
End game and basics for your army
Here’s my ship that I made within lots of playing hours with faction 3
Sadly I could not make it so the whole made a skeleton due to the amount of generators that will be needed to en masse drones. Drone launchers, tempests, anti-missile lasers, and generators are your biggest friends for making this kind of ship
BASICS FOR YOUR ARMY:
Here are all of my creations, a lot of which are due to trial and error until I found the right ones (again, this is a hard faction and you need the right creations
You’ll want:
-1 blueprint of a big, somewhat tanky ship with weak guns, this is your tank or your ultralisk (minus the damage) and it’s designed to take hits for you and prevent ships from bullrushing you (since it’s to big to get through)
-3 blueprints of smaller ships with guns, these are your zerglings, they are super cheap, should be fast, and you will mass these more than the other ship. These guys will do most of the damage for you and they will swarm the enemy. Don’t worry about them dying as all of these ships are cheap and you’ll get more resources from the ships you kill.
-and for an extra bit of dps, 1 blueprint of a ship covered with guns, like the whole body is just GUNS, this ship will be a big help to decimating agent fleets. You wouldn’t want this in your child spawning order list, but every now and then you’ll want to spawn these to help destroy other ships as quickly as possible as your zergling like ships only have so much DPS
This is a picture of what your fleet could look like, but don’t be fooled, I could make fleets with over 200 ships and 400 drones, just I’ve been having quite a lot of bad luck and could never get a good picture.
End game tip: Once you start getting around to 50-70 ships, save the rest of the resources and only spawn ships when you are in fight with agents. By this time you should be powerful enough to take on the basic enemies you’ll come across.
Why save the resources? Once you start going over 70 ships, ships will start getting lost along the way fairly easily, even at a VERY SLOW SPEED. So it’s best to just make the rest in the times of needs (like fighting agents) instead of crawling along and always having to head back when you lose 30 ships.
Also remember to stick with your ships and use them as protection at all times, they can’t work without you because you are essentially the hive mind, plus you are too fragile even for a big ship to take a lot of hits anyways.
BE WARNED, LOTS OF LAG WILL HAPPEN TO THE AMOUNT OF SHIPS AND DRONES YOU WILL HAVE, SO BE PREPARED.
That’s it…
Please notify me if I have missed anything, enjoy your play with faction 3 and know…
-Lag is pretty imminent with the amount of ships and drones you’ll spawn
-Death is pretty common, it’ll take time, trial and error, to make a grand ship unable to die and a grand army that’s able to conquer everything.
-This guide may not be pristine, even though I feel I have mastered the faction, I feel like some points are left out.
Thank you for reading, enjoy.
