Overview
If you’ve tried placing -dx9 into launch option, running the game in the compatibility mode for Windows Vista SP2 and it didn’t work try this:
How to?
1) Download this application: [link] and extract content to some folder
2)Start the game and go to settings
3)Change to Windowed mode
4)Exit game
5)Start Borderless gaming application
6)Start BioShock 2
7)Alt+Tab then right click on the app here:
and click on “Add window”.
8)Go back to the game,and press F3
9)If you see white borders change resolution by few pixels in Borderless Gaming application for that game
10)After this you’re never gonna need to do these steps again. You just need to start the application every time before you start the game
11)I am not sure if this is true, but people say that uninstalling this update KB2670838 helps. Since I didn’t have that update installed I can’t say if that helps, but what I do know is that before doing these steps I had crashes, and after doing them I didn’t have crashes at all. Hope it works for you too!
P.S. This may also work for people experiencing crashes in BioShock 1 or in games in general(without step 11). Also possible fix for stutters in some games.
