Fix Oblivion for Lenovo laptops for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Fix Oblivion for Lenovo laptops

Overview

A quick tip on how to start playing on a Lenovo laptop (usualy you can’t).

So your Oblivion doesn’t go further than intro videos

If you are trying to play TESIV: Oblivion on a Lenovo laptop, and you are not able even to start a new game (a freeze at the main menu or earlier), this quick tip will (in most cases) help you.
The problem lies in the Lenovo apps, gratefully preinstalled on your laptop. And the source of all the problems is Corel DVD studio. It uses certain sound libraries, so when a game (i.e. Oblivion) is trying to use them, it just goes to a halt.
To start playing the game, you will need to uninstall this software.

P.S. It actualy might fix some other sound related problems.

P.P.S. It can sometimes be IDVault too (thanks to jonbravo2 for this tip)
