Do grenades and other explosive spawn 2 feet to your right when you throw them? I may have the solution.
Fixing The Issue (Hopefully)
As many of you may know, grenades and other explosives (MP5 Grenade Launcher, Satchel Charges, Snarks) are completely broken in Black-Mesa. Instead of being viable weapons, they often spawn a few feet in front of the player and to the right when they are used.
I have found that, at least in my experience, this issue is caused by a number of Add-Ons. Specifically, any Add-On that alters the default HEV Suit’s hand models, or default Grenade models.
Below are the Add-Ons that I have found which cause this issue. Feel free to comment any other Add-Ons you have discovered which cause similar problems and I will happily add them to the list.
1) HD Pack Styled Sleeves

This Add-On has been known to cause this issue for some time now, but many make the mistake of thinking this is the only Add-On to cause the problem. It isn’t.
2) HD Hands+Animated Handpads

As well made and nice as this mod is, it causes the explosives to act unpredictably.
3) Mk. II Frag Grenade

I feel this is somewhat ironic, and also very obvious. A grenade modification breaking grenades? Wild.
Yeah, that’s it.
