Foxhole Guide

FOXHOLE: DAY 1 for Foxhole

FOXHOLE: DAY 1

Overview

The most basic of the basic, for all the new comers to the game.

Prologue

After just two days of helping people personally on the fronts, or back in the supply chain. I’ve decided to give guide making a shot. This is a very basic guide for someone who just bought the game and is looking for some help!

Making Basic Materials

First off, youre going to need scrap there are other ways of making Basic Materials (Bmats for short)
but they are really unconventional. If you’re new to the map and dont already know how to open the map. Press m and look for a near by scrap field the have this icon
After arriving at the scrap yards bash those bloody piles of rubble with your glorious Soviet hammer until your hearts desire. Once you have as much as you’d like take to the Manufacturing Plant. Where is that you may ask. Well kiddo’s if you open your map again you will find something like this.
(Pro-Tip. A map legend is in the top left corner of your screen when you open the map)
Once you have arrived, slap your scrap on in and refine that garbage into something useful for the team! Now you have a multiple of options to do with said scrap, Give it to a supply truck. For them to give to the fronts. Make weapons and then give it to a supply truck (Im seeing a pattern here). Or goto the front yourself and build defenses for your team.

Construction

Ah, Construction. Foxhole’s second best cookie clicker, next to scraping. Anywho after you think you’ve found the most cheeky spot in the middle of the woods for a Foxhole you want to start building.

But hold on partner, Don’t go yelling into All chat asking how to build just hold on a damned minute and I’ll tell ya. First off you’re going to need a hammer. Remember that filthy communist tool you spawn with but soon threw away because a rifle was more important for a builder to have? Yeah go run back and grab that.

Once you’ve ran back and got your hammer you need to equip it and then press B You’ll get a popup with all the structures you can build in this case we will be using a foxhole after clicking on the foxhole it will be ready to place the build site where you want but a message (Or not depends on your situation) is saying there its not connected to a tunnel network! No worries kiddo you can still build your Foxhole and whatnot but the AI will not work unless you be a good ol’ chap and build a network down to that one foxhole in the woods.

To build a network start for the closest tunnel you can find. If you can’t find any goto your closest Town Hall and start from there. (All tunnel networks start from a town hall) each Tunnel node extends out 40m and can supply AI structure within that 40m. Now you get the basic’s build that mile long stretch of tunnel nodes to your foxhole and there you go any filthy Colonial that takes a calm walk through the woods will get a sharp pain in the side all thanks to the might of the Warden craftmanship *Cough* Wardens best faction *cough*

Making Weapons

Now time to make your tools of war, The tools needed to rip the souls from the damned Colonials over the bridge over ‘Yonder. First look at your map, Im not giving you a Icon this time. Use the map legend in the top left of the map screen (See, forcing you to learn instead of feeding ya). Find a Weapon Factory (This system will also apply to the Workshop, Medical Lab, And supply station).

Now rememeber when you were scraping eariler and those weirdthings called “Tech Parts” Popped in your inventory and you threw them out just like that hammer? Yeah go pick thoses back up because they are VERY important. At the Weapon Factory, Workshop, and Vehicle factory there are these things known as “Tech Levels”. Its a basic limiter on what you can build with what ever level that said building is. Its just to keep high level weapons out of the battle until late game. Seeing a bloody tank on day one is not something you want to fight.

After you have the Tech Parts, put them into the inventory of the Weapon factory and press that good ol’ button “Submit Tech” you can see your team’s progress on that specific building on the left of the UI. Now that storage is just for storing items. You do not need to put your Bmats inside the building unless you are leaving them for others, Leave ’em in your inventory when you need to make stuff. When you’re ready to start production click the “Place Order” button after having the correct ammount of Bmats in your inventory and a timer will start on the right telling you when your order is complete.

After the order is done. It will come in a crate, How can you use all those great Soviet rifles if they are in a crate? Frist throw them in your personal inventory and run to the nearest Outpost or Townhall (Im 90% This doesnt work with Barracks but if it does some do please tell me in the comments below). place it inside and click “submit to stockpile” And there you have it! You have done something bloody productive! Alot better than asking in chat how to make something of yourself and just hearing crickets.

A Quick and Basic Section on Combat

Combat can be fairly easy topic to understand and its quite simple. I will not get in depth here for all you combat medic and sappers. But for all the infantry running into battle and dieing constantly for the cause. This is for you.

Just saying. You most likely wont survive some assualts. If you die with metric ♥♥♥♥ tons of stuff on you. You most likely just gave supplies to the enemey. My recomended loadout is this.

Rifling
1 Rifle (Yes I’m pointing this out. I’ve seen people die with two or more)
About 5 clips of ammo (Maybe even less)
1 Or 2 Bandages (Depending on if you plan on getting hit and medics are not nearby)
And if your team has surplus and you’re feeling cheeky get a grenade or two. And not the damned HE get a normal god ol’ Frag. The HE is for Sapper’s.

SMG
1 SMG (Same point as before)
6 Magazines (Usally what I get but hell, Even then sometimes too much or too little.)
1 Or 2 Bandages (Same as before)
And the grenade situation same as for rifling

To fire is pretty simple. You aim with your right mouse button and shoot with your left. Crouching and going prone makes you have less mobility but a slight incress to have a bullet fly by you and hit your mate instead of you. Also you know, You have more accuracy.

-=PRO TIP=- Aiming on or slightly behind your target greatly increases your chances of hitting them

Feel like you’ve been hit and cant find your health bar? Look at your character model. Are you covered in red? That means you’re damaged. Are you covered in red and you see little slashed of red coming from yourself. Cry for a medic or patch yourself up with bandages. Bandages dont heal but stem bleeding). Are you laying on the ground with this sweet timer below you? Yell for a medic, because when that timer runs out. Oh boy are you in for a cold dark end.

Epilogue

Alas, this is the end of the guide. I hoped I help with some pointers on how to start the game with just the pure basic of basics. I will be making a more advanced guide later on covering vehicles, the HMG, Tanks, Field machine guns, Medic and Sapper roles, Along with supply. And loads of other stuff I feel I cant put into a basic guide like this one.

This was my first guide I honestly hope I helped you all out and if you ever need hands on help, and you just so happen to be in the same server as me. Give me a call, I’ll most likely come and help ya out.

Please do point anything out if I have a mistake, or something you just have to comment on. I hope you all have a good day, and see you on the battlefield!
