Overview

A description of what Glitch Extra Alien mode enables, and how to make super holes.

Glitch Encore Alien mode

Glitch Encore Alien mode, 41381, is a mode where the only difference between it and the standard 3671 mode is the ability to make Super Holes. Super Holes were originally a bug discovered during development. The creators decided they were interesting enough to become their own game mode.

Super Holes

Standard Holes are dug once, filled with a single alien, and then buried over. A Standard Hole can kill at maximum one alien. They do not emit rainbow particles.

Standard Holes are destroyed when they are buried over, or when an alien escapes from them, with or without help.

Super Holes are dug once, instakill any alien that walks into it, and then remain open. A Super Hole can kill an unlimited number of aliens. They periodically emit rainbow particles to remind you that they are, in fact, Super Holes.

Super Holes cannot be destroyed except by intentionally reburying dirt in them.

How to Dig a Super Hole

This is going to sound a little strange, but this is how it is done.

Basic Details:

  1. Play the game on 41381 Glitch Encore Alien mode.
  2. Place a candy.
  3. Wait for an alien to begin eating the candy.
  4. Dig a hole directly under the alien while it is eating the candy.
  5. Once the alien is done eating the candy over its hole, the hole becomes a super hole.

Advanced Details:

  1. Play the game on 41381 Glitch Encore Alien mode. Make sure this setting is set with the cyan “Yeah”. If you are playing standard 3671, and you try to dig a super hole, and you die as a result, it will be funny, but it will not help you meet your goals.
  2. Place a candy. Each life, you start with 1 candy. Intentionally dying is a good way to give yourself more candy, but you can also find candy in one of the two item spawning spots. The candy will remain on the ground once placed, and you can’t pick it up again.
  3. Wait for an alien to begin eating the candy. Aliens who see placed candy will begin to sing musical notes (I imagine they’re singing “Holy Diver” by Ronnie James Dio) and head directly to the candy. Do not stand directly between aliens and candy; you will still die if they touch you. Once an alien begins to eat the candy, it will no longer eat you until it is done eating candy. It will continue to sing.
  4. Dig a hole directly under the alien while it is eating the candy. You have to finish digging a full hole before it is done eating.
  5. Once the alien is done eating the candy over its hole, the hole becomes a super hole, because why not.

How to use Super Holes to your advantage

Because you may have an infinite number of Super Holes, and they kill aliens very fast (much faster than you can with Standard Holes), you can accrue an excessive number of points by using Super Holes. Even without a decent placement strategy for the Super Holes, you can rack up a score of around 500,000 very easily. You can reach levels like Level 222.

Place a Super Hole, and then intentionally die to give yourself the candy you need to make another Super Hole. You’re going to want to do this several times. Dying is not so bad, except for the delay… and the scream. That scream haunts you.

Choose where you place your Super Holes carefully. You do not want to lock yourself in and impede your movement with Super Holes. You spent all that effort to make them, and having to cover them up would fill you with regret.

Don’t overdo it. You still want to find the buried treasures, don’t you? If you create so many Super Holes that green aliens are getting killed before you have any chance of finding the treasures, you will be filled with regret.

Consult videos in other guides by Primoslide and others for better details on how to use Super Holes strategically. The guidance is written in Japanese, however. You can figure it out from the video.
