Glommer for Don't Starve

Glommer

Overview

How to take care of your Glommer!

Glommer!

Glommer is a non-hostile and tameable creature found in the new Reign of Giants DLC, and passively restores sanity while continuously following you when you’re in the possession of a Glommer’s Flower. To find yourself a Glommer, listen to this simple guide on how to look after your new pet!

How to find Glommer…

To tame your Glommer, you first need to find the Glommer’s Flower conveniently appearing on the Glommer’s Statue. This Statue is usually only found in a Deciduous Forest, which in itself is a forest of Birchnut Trees. However, the Glommer Flower is only found here on the night of a full moon, where it is safe to roam away from your base. This will occur on Day 9 and Day 10, giving you early opportunities to find this animal.

The Glommer Statue is surrounded by Birchnut Trees as well as a Pan Flute, which can be used at least 10 time to put most creatures to sleep. By mining this Statue, you also recieve blueprints for the Old Bell, which we will come onto later. Take the Glommer Flower which should be on the pedestal of the Statue, and very soon Glommer will follow!

Glommer’s Perks

Glommer will follow the player, while they have the Flower, and restore 6.25 sanity per minute. Therefore, by standing near the creature, you can negate the sanity draining effects of night. And unlike Pigs when they’re are tamed, it will not move away from you.

Every 2-4 days, Glommer will drop Glommer’s Goop, an item that has the same fuel value of boards on a fire and can also be used as fertilizer. It works as food as well, restoring 40 health and 9.375 hunger, but drains a massive 50 sanity straight away!

When killed, Glommer drops 2 Monster Meat, Glommer’s Wings and 2 Glommer’s Goop. This is not wise, since it raises the player’s Naughtiness by 50, spawning Krampus suddenly! The Glommer’s Flower will begin to rot, but it is still useful.

By mining the Glommer’s Statue, you will recieve Old Bell Blueprints. If you learn it, and have the Glommer’s Flower + Glommer’s Wings from killing Glommer, you can make the Old Bell. It has 3 uses and deals 1,000 damage everytime Bigfoot is summoned.

So overall killing Glommer has its benefits, but you have to feel sorry for this creature!

Have fun with your New Glommer!
