My Discord Server

People that use my guides have ask me a lot to make a discord server, so I finally got around to doing it [link], so if you need help, have questions, or just wanna be apart of a modding server and hang out with like minded people that adore these Bethesda games and modding, come join

Friend Requests
I get so many friend requests because of my guides, it is impossible for me to accept all of them, my steam friend list has a limit and as time goes on I would get confused as to who everybody is, so I just don’t accept any, it’s nothing personal against anybody, if you have questions or need help use the comment section of the guide, or join my Discord to reach me faster

First Things

Clean Install
When modding a game it is always best to start with a clean install, especially if you have modded the game before, its always best to start clean, you must boot the game one time after install, and for some of the mods in this guide you need all the dlcs and the HD Textures pack is recommended for best visual

Do Not put the game in the Programs File Directory
When you are modding games you can not have those games installed into the Programs Files directory, when the game is installed here it will be under the control of the Windows User Account and Windows will block any outside programs from making any changes to any program in the Program Files Directory, so when you install a mod or any file that makes changes to the game.exe or any other file in that game, Windows will not allows this, some files might work fine, others will not work at all, it’s Modding 101, you don’t put your games here.

[link]
KCD has texture pop ins and having it on your ssd will help this problem to an extent but not completely fix it, if you are going to put it on your ssd then you must do the following to get Steam, out of the Program Files directory, Steam only allows one game folder per drive, so as long as Steam is installed in the Program Files Directory, you can not simply make another folder on your C Drive outside of Program Files you must move Steam out, and this is how.
First you have to exit Steam, not just close it out, Exit out from the top left corner, then go to
C-Drive/Program Files (x86)/Steam and Delete all of the files and folders except the SteamApps & Userdata folders and Steam.exe, now move that main Steam folder to your C-Drive, once it is done, boot Steam from the Steam.exe in the new folder, your desktop icons or start menu icons for steam will no longer be any good, you can make new ones, all so all of your desktop icons for games will disappear, to fix this before you delete all the old steam files out, save a folder inside titled steam/games, inside it you will see all of your desktop icons, back it up and drag it in afterwards, if not you will have to verify the contents of the games in order to get the desktop icon back, and if any of those games are modded you do not want to verify them, after you boot from the exe, let Steam update and then login in and you are good to go, to make a new desktop icon just go to that steam folder and right click the Steam.exe and select create shortcut then drag the shortcut to your desktop, while steam is open, right click it on your taskbar and select pin

Update your Drivers
Makesure all your drivers are up to date, I run a Nvidia/Intel sytem so i use these for my drivers For Intel- [link]
For Nvidia- use Nvidia’s App called GeForce Experience
For my audio drivers and other drivers I use device manager, just type in Device manager in the windows serach box
If you use AMD hardware and do not know how to update your drivers just google it

How to Use Vortex Mod Manager

Making a Nexus Mods account
Go here [link] and use your email to make an account, a Nexus account is free, just do not select any of the pay options when you make your account, just select create account, if you decide to pay on Nexus then you will get uncapped download speeds and no ads, its about $4 a month, for free accounts you only get to use capped slow downloads

Setting Up Vortex
Vortex Mod Manager- [link]
Download the first main file titled Vortex, click the Manual Download
After it is downloaded go to your downloads folder and double click the Vortex executable and let it run, then launch Vortex,at the top right corner click the account circle and then click log in on Website, then Authorize Vortex, now you can download mods. For Vortex to find a game you have to have it installed and booted the game at least one time, in Vortex open the Games tab on the left, at the top click scan and do a full scan, let the scan complete, your game should now be in the Unmanaged section, click on it to manage and after it is done you should get a notification in the top right corner on the bell icon, that mods can’t be deployed, select fix, select next, then select apply fix, then its going to bring you to the settings page at the mods tab, at the mod staging folder select suggest, then select apply. By default your mods archive folder will be on your C Drive where Vortex is installed, if you want to change this then in Vortex, open up settings, select the downloads tab at the top, under Download Folder select the folder icon and place it on another drive and create and name a new folder, I keep everything, Mod Archive Folder, Mod Staging Folder, Modding Tools Folder, and My Games on my D/Drive

this is a video showing you how to do everything i just told you, it might help you more to watch someone, in the video the games tab will look a little different don’t be alarmed, that is because the video is a year old and Vortex has been updated since

If you do not know how to use Vortex then watch this video

This is a link to Gopher’s Beginners guide to Vortex tutorial

Tools

File Archiver
You are going to need a program to help you extract compressed files, i have used several and in my opinion this is the best one and it is free called Any Zip
[link]
Just go to the microsoft app store and type in Any Zip
If you want to use another or already use a diffrent one that is fine my second choice would be [link] 64bit

Peformance Tips

KCD is a demanding game, it looks absolutely beautiful, but cost some frames, this mod list is not demanding, its the game itself that is, to use an ENB you have to use all settings on at least Very High or the enb will not work, I play on Ultra, with everything maxed out and my frames are never constant, I go from 40 to 60 all game long, but I have never gotten a micro stutter, just frame drops, I play on a Nvidia RTX 2070 Super and an Intel i7-9700f with 16gb ram on a 1080p monitor

Nvidia Users
Open up Nvidia Control Panel, and select manage 3d settings, on the right side of the screen select the Program Settings Tab, then select the Add button, Then select KCD, and scroll down and enable the following
Max Frame Rate- 60fps
Power management mode- Prefer Maximum Performance
Triple Buffering- On
Vertical Sync- On
After make sure and select Apply at the bottom

ENB and ReShade

The enb and the HD textures pack are the main visuals of my video
I use Rudy Enb on every game he makes an enb for, I love his taste, it looks great, just in case you don’t like it, here are 2 other suggestions for Enb, just follow there instructions to install and they are lots of reshades on nexus for KCD as well
Apex ENB[link]
Photorealistic Beauty[link]

enb binaries[link]
Click the box with the arrow pointing down to download the latest version, then go to your downloads folder and create a new folder name it kcd enb binaries, then extract the download to that folder, after open it up, go into the ExperimentalVersion/Bin/Win64 folders inside copy/paste the d3d11.dll and d3dcompiler_46.dll to this directory in your game folder steamapps/common/KingdomComeDeliverance/Bin/Win64, you paste them in here with the games executable

– You need to use Very High in-game graphic setting, otherwise ENB will not work properly
.
-Some ENB effect will not work with “Optimized Graphic Presets”mod, so, you can’t use it with Rudy’s Enb
-If you want a good looking contact shadows (especially in the interiors), lighting must be set to Ultra.

Rudy ENB for KCD[link]
Download the main file by clicking the files tab, then the manual download button, after go to your downloads folder and extract the download, inside open up the !ENB folder, open the [ to the KingdomComeDeliverance folder ] folder, inside copy/paste all the contents, 4 things here enbseries folder, enblocal.ini,enbseries.ini, and user.cfg to your main game folder steamapps/common/KingdomComeDeliverance, not were we but the enb binaries, just in your main game folder

!!!IMPORTANT!!!

right click Kingdom Come Deliverance in your steam library and select properties, at the bottom you will see launch options in that box copy/paste this
“+exec user.cfg” you must do this to get the best look, Rudy tweak some values for Screen Space Directional Occlusion and Voxel Ray Tracing Global Illumination for shadows and he binded keys (8 and 9) for hiding the game HUD, while in game if you press the 8 and 9 key and it does not hide your HUD then you did it wrong

If you want Rudy’s Depth of Field effect then he has provided that in the enb folder, but you must install reshade to use it, DOF is not possible with KCD enb binaries, so just do this

ReShade- [link]
Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click the Download ReShade button, at this time it says Download ReShade 4.9.1, when reshade gets updated those version numbers will change, either way this is how you will always download it, once it is downloaded run the downloaded executable file, then go open up Rudy’s Enb folder we extracted and open up the ! If you also want to use ReShade folder, then open ! Installation steps folder, and click the first screenshot, now you can use your mouse wheel to change the screenshots as you go, just follow Rudy’s pictures when setting up Reshade, only the first 4 pictures apply here, reshade has been updated since Rudy made these, so you want have the option to choose those individual standard effects, it is already done for you now, so after the first 4 pictures it will say you are done, close it out

Now go into Rudy Enb folder, open up the ! If you also want to use ReShade folder, then open up the [ to the Win64 or Win64MasterMasterEpicPGO folder ] folder, and copy/paste all the contents here, 3 things, !_ReShade_Screenshots folder, ReShade.ini, and Rudy_KCD.ini to this directory inside the main game folder,
steamapps/common/KingdomComeDeliverance/Bin/Win64, after pasting select replace when prompted

Then boot the game and once it loads and you are at the main menu, click the home key to pull up the reshade menu, once its up, at the very top underneath the tabs you will see a box that says reshade preset, click it and go down to Rudy_KCD, then underneath click these 2 effect so they are check marked
ADOF [qUINT_dof.fx] and CinematicDOF [CinematicDOF.fx], the at the very top, click the Settings tab, then click the box to the left of Effect toggle key and click your end key, then go back over to home and click your home key to cloce the reshade menu, now when you click the end key it will turn DOF on and Off, so you can see if you want to keep it or not

To uninstall reshade run the reshade.exe, direct it to Kingdom Come Deliverance.exe, then click uninstall. after go to this directory steamapps/common/KingdomComeDeliverance/Bin/Win64 and delete these 3 things !_ReShade_Screenshots folder, ReShade.ini, and Rudy_KCD.ini

Read Me

The first thing you need to do when you reach a mod page is read the description and the requirements for the mod, all so check out the comments, most of the time authors will pin instructions in the comment sections or other users will report problems here

For all the mods in this guide, once you follow the link and read about them, make sure you want to use them, you click the files tab beside description tab and download the file I say or the file you choose with a mod manager download

ENDORSE THE MODS
These mods listed in my guide should be Endorsed, they all deserve it and an Endorsement shows some appreciation for all the hard work the Authors put in for FREE so we can play KCD in a better condition, so please hit that ENDORSE button, it cost you nothing, just a click of the mouse

Mods

A lot of these mods got deleted from Nexus, so I shared them through a google drive link, on all of them, you download the google drive, then take the packed download file and drag and drop it into Vortex at the bottom of the mods page, in the box titled Drop Files, then install and enable, Simplified Archery and Alchemy Rebalanced came with multiple files, so I packed them all into one archive, so you must extract that archive to have access to those multiple files, you can’t just drop the whole archive in, it will not work, extract it, then pick what files you want and drop those into Vortex
