DiRT Rally Guide

Great Mods for DiRT Rally for DiRT Rally

Great Mods for DiRT Rally

Overview

With Dirt 5 in the works, and Dirt Rally 2.0 already released, I still thought I’d show the original some love with some good mods.

Notice

I never created any of these mods nor do I create these mods, I am just trying to show other people that these mods exist. So support the original creators of these mods. I either got these mods from Race Department or other sources. If ANY of these mods break your save game, which it shouldn’t, it is not my fault.

Introduction

Last guide I made about Dirt 3 mods, I got over 9,000 views and 139 favorites, and since I own a copy of Dirt Rally, why don’t I make another guide for it too?

Dirt Rally still has a good modding community to this day, so let’s see what they have done.

Skin Mods, and a convenient way to install them

Skin mods are one of the best mods you can get. The ability to have a custom livery that wouldn’t have been in vanilla is a great thing to see, especially when theirs a lot of them to download.

You can get a good amount at RaceDepartment, but if I listed every single one, we would be here forever, so I’ll just leave the links below.

And to install them, I would recommend Dirt Rally Mod Manager, it’s like Content Manager, but for skins.

Visual Mods

Visuals make a game look good, and with mods, you could make it look even better.

Reshade
Reshade is a post-processing injector that can make games look amazing. If you want to know more, here’s the description from their website.

“ReShade is a generic post-processing injector for games and video software developed by crosire. Imagine your favorite game with ambient occlusion, real depth of field effects, color correction, and more … ReShade exposes an automated and generic way to access both frame color and depth information (latter is automatically disabled during multiplayer to prevent exploitation) and all the tools to make it happen.

The possibilities are endless! Add advanced depth-edge-detection-driven SMAA antialiasing, screen-space ambient occlusion, depth of field effects, chromatic aberration, dynamic film grain, automatic saturation and color correction, cross processing, multi-pass blurring … you name it.”

No Yellow Filter
This mod is self-explanatory, it aims to remove the yellow filter the game sometimes has, giving it a clear tone that it needs. Note that in the video, they are using an outdated Reshade.

This mod adds back the anti-lag that was in a earlier version of Dirt Rally but got cut in the final release.

The End

Well that’s all of the mods I covered, and I want to say, thanks for your support on my Dirt 3 guide 4 years ago, without that, I would have probably not made this guide.

And not only that, this talented community is the reason that these mods exist, so give them your best support and download some mods!

Again, thank you guys for reading my guides, and thank you to the modding community!

If you want to support me, you can join my group, which I just created, a GTR2 Guide could be on the way!
