H&G economics 101 (Updated Garman!)

Overview

Hello guys! I am here to teach you some about the basic economics and how to earn yourself a living in Heroes and Generals. Some tips for saving, how handle your income and spendings and more!

The basic income! How do you earn it?

From level 1 to level 17. You’ll get paid for every battle that you participate in. No matter how long or how well you perform in the battle. Even if you’re doing bad, you’ll still get paid. The longer the battles the more money you’ll make. But also the more money you’re going to spend! Longer battles will result in more weapon use and thus more costs for repairment. You start with a salary of 8000 c. per hour. The average (Assault) battle lasts for 30 minutes. So just devide your base salary by 2 and you’ll get your salary that you’ll probably earn for a 30 minute match. 8000/2=4000 credits for an average battle. You’ll also earn more if you capture points, destory tanks and help out teammates.

Everything costs credits.

Everything is going to cost you money, from ammo to mods to knifes. So what you want to do is spend as less as possible yet still be able to do an effective job. Well here are some tips that might help you to save up some money!
1: Mods.
Mods are sneaky, they give you a good adventage over people yet these will consume a lot of credits because the repair bill on these are quite high.
As I always say if you can’t afford the mods don’t take them!
Look I have a a few mods on my DP-28 and they all need repairment, that is quite expensive
As you can see, I need to repair the trigger. That trigger will cost me almost 5000 credits!. That’s more then you’d make as a level 1 soldier! So disable your mods if you’re spending too much on them! I’d recommend disableling autorepair so you know how much you’re spending on repairment if you are in a tight budget.
2: Overuse through bad aim.
Bullets can be expesive when you have a bad aim. If you use special ammo even more.
Shooting causes damage to the gun itself (and mods on the weapon) what will result in even more expensive repair bill.
With a better aim you have to spend less on bullets and your weapon. A 50% accuracy is way cheaper than a 15% accuracy. Try only shoot the target if you know you can hit them, or when you have enough credits. (Duh!)
3. Jumping into battles that are ingame or nearly finished.
We all had it. You join a game which is almost to its end and you are still trying your best to push forward but it just won’t work. You’ll spend more than you earn because you use your weapons a lot but you there isn’t much you can do!
Here I came in the game that finished a few minutes later. I made almost 600 but my expenses were more than 700.
I lost money, so try to see what you can do and how it is going to end. Play more carefull maybe?
Then again it depends on your weapon and mods what you are using.
4.Threeway battles.
You probably know them, every faction against the other two. Those are known to take longer then normal games because of the 2 factions attacking one Objective or three objectives and three facitons has one. Those are great way to make money but are also quite sneaky because they will cost you quite a lot.
The games here take mainly longer because everyone is well dug in trying to defend their point while the other two want to take the their point or they want to drain the enemies recources.
So you’ll be using your gun and vehicles a lot but there is also a big oppertunity to make some money by destroying tanks and planes.
Some battles last more than an hour and some even more than 90 minutes!

How to save and keep control of it.

Saving, it just means you still have money left after all your payments and save it for any future costs or things you want to buy.
How to save? Make more money then you spend on things that are needed for repairment.
Like you make 6000 but you have to spend 1200 on your car, nothing more.
6000-1200=4800. That’s the amount you have left to do with what you want.
There are things that are cheap and easy to maintain but somethings are more expensive. Like mods for weapons or heavier class tanks. Warning: Planes are expensive to maintain!.
For everyone who is buying (with gold) any high class tank or plane. I must inform you that the costs are high and that’s why you unlock them later, they’re big expense point. You unclock them later because then you’d making enough money to take care of them, as you’re a higher level and thus more experienced and a bigger income.
Another tip of saving on your own weapons is picking up other people’s weapons.
They are as effective, sometimes even better then your own. Think of OHK rifles, LMG’S, SMG’s etc. There are no costs bound to you for using the weapons. Bullets don’t discriminate. So shoot the enemy with their own guns!

[Optional]I’d recommend to use the auto refill on your things so you can easy see after the match how much you’ve spend on your weapons because it’ll add everything into 1 price to see. [/optional] You can just check your earnings and see if you made more money or less than you have spend.
If you did not make more than I would check the soldier that you played as, their level in that match (and how long the battle lasted and your money) and if your weapons are using any expensive mods or you died a lot with your tank/plane or any other vehicle.

Long battles: Everyone knows them, it seems like they take ages while you keep rushing in and in.
Think about it. Is it worth it? When you come in such a long battle I’d suggest you sit back and defend (If you’re a defender) and let them come for you. If you’re a attacker you might disable some mods or just take it easy also and just go for the captures (Not everything is about getting kills, it’s about taking points) As a wise men once said: “The one thing in war that’s more important than killing, is surviving.”
You just need to take a guess if it’s going to take long or not. (If they/your team don’t have tanks or planes. It could end in a long battle)
