Lore

The H1Z1 virus devastated mankind and left nothing but death and destruction in its wake and a world nearly empty of human life where the remnants of humanity are in a fight against extinction against those infected with the virus. It’s been month since H1Z1 was first encountered and what’s left of the world before is overrun with the Infected. Humanity has been reduced to hiding in the shadows, searching desperately for food and water and anything that can help to survive even for another day.

The video below goes into full details on what might have happened.

H1Z1 also has a full radio broadcast that provides another perspective on how the apocalypse came to be. It also features some interviews with some of the survivors that populate the land as well.

Starting Kit

Upon spawning into the world, you will start with a limited amount of supplies and the clothes on your back as seen below. To make the most of your limited space, right click on your shirt and pants and shred them both until you end up with some scraps of cloth.

Click on your discovery tab at the top of your Inventory UI, then click or drag the cloth until it is located in one of the slots in the middle. Now click “discover” and you should now have a satchel recipe. This should give you 100 more slots of space than what you originally started with.

Maps & Location

Upon playing H1Z1, it can become extremely easy getting lost as the world is about 64 km in size. But H1Z1 has a secret feature which allows you to acquire your coordinates in-game. To use this command, you will need to type “/loc” which will then tell you whatever coordinates you have.

Once you have your coordinates in the bottom-left corner, press the “m” key to enable your cursor. Now you can copy that line of text and paste it into the x-axis on the map.

Once you have these coordinates, click the link below and you will have a interactive map which you can insert your coordinates and it will display your location.

You can also now enable a party mode now which you and your friends can use now, that displays multiple locations in real time.

Crafting

I know that there are a lot of crafting guides in steam already, but many of them are incomplete as of right now, so here is a website that has recipes for just about everything in the game.

Foraging & Scavenging

After getting geared up the best you can, you will eventually figure out that there isn’t a lot of food, or anything really. There are a variety of consumables in the game although, they are hard to find and to keep yourself sustained with most of them.

Because of that you are going to have to live off the land, meaning you are going to forage for Blackberries along the highways or in deep in the forests where they are more plentiful. Blackberries are a lot more common than any other food although they only replenish 2% of food and water.

Native Consumables

Blackberries:
Located: Can be found in patches almost everywhere.
Hunger: 2%
Thirst: 2%

    Under Construction
At the moment, there isn’t information on the stats for most food items in the game and most of the time you will be munching on berries until loot spawns get fixed. As soon as i can collect the information myself or I can get it else where, the faster I can bring that here.

FPS Guide

Please note that these settings will not make your game “beautiful” they are simply to give you a boost in frame rate for those who can handle performance over aesthetics.

Part 1:

  • Exit Your Game Completely.
  • Go to your steam Library.
  • Click properties for H1Z1.
  • Click local files.
  • Click browse local files.
  • Scroll all the way down the folder to the bottom.
  • Click on “UserOptions”
  • Scroll down to rendering tab.
  • Change shadow quality to 0.
  • Change Flora Quality to 0.
  • Scroll down to terrain.
  • Change render flora to off.
  • Click file in the top left corner.
  • Click Save.

    Example: ShadowQuality=0
    Example: FloraQuality=0
    Example: RenderFlora=off

***You will have to repeatedly change these settings every time you exit the game. Otherwise they will revert to their original settings. Also do not change your settings in-game otherwise your “UserOptions” settings will revert back to normal.***

Everyone who does this WILL get a different result depending on your PC specifications. Please do not spam the comment section with hate if you still cannot run your game or the game keeps crashing.

Weapons

In the world of H1Z1, there are a variety of weapons to keep you safe from the undead or the remaining survivors who populate the game. Most of them are rare, so you will end up most of the time improvising your own weapons.
