Aramusha Summary
The Aramusha are deadly samurai enforcers who work for the same clan as the Shinobi. They joined The Chosen in season 4. They’re a hybrid between a assassin and a heavy. They have a unique move called Blade Blockade that allows them to block with versatility and counter attack in a swift and graceful manner.
Because of his status as a DLC character The Aramusha costs 10K steel to be unlocked. Alternatively, you could buy the season pass for 25$, which also unlocks the other 5 DLC characters.
Buying the Season pass gives you the ”Sea Anemone” elite outfit free for the Aramusha. This comes with paint patterns, symbols and an ornament.
Firstly, a bit of Aramusha lore
The Aramusha is a Samurai fallen from grace. They are not silent nor elegant but they move with the precision of a predatory cat and waste no movements. Their dual blades make short work of any who stand before them.
The Aramusha and Shinobi are members of the same secret order though their roles are vastly different. Where the Shinobi are the silent assassin, the Aramusha are the brash enforcers or sometimes the bodyguards for the more powerful Samurai houses. They once fought for an honorable cause but circumstances, be it betrayal, greed, ego or others, have pushed them to abandon their oaths.
There is no air of mystery about them. They are simply elite warriors who wield dual katana with deadly grace. The Samurai have called on one of their most ruthless weapons and they are about to be unleashed on the battlefield.

Moveset
Tempest Infinite Combo
The Tempest Infinite combo is supposed to be Aramusha main form of pressure, but due to the predictability and slow speed of the chain it’s really mediocre on it’s own. I’d honestly recommend not using the traditional tempest.
Tempest /w Deadly Feint
This, along with backstep light attacking, is the only way to make tempest even slightly viable. Tempest /w Deadly Feint (gonna refer to it as Deadly Tempest from now on) is initiated when you throw a light or heavy, followed by another heavy in the same direction, this will put you in the heavy finisher animation and, by inputting light attack into the other 2 direction, you will be able to throw fast 400 ms light attacks called ”Deadly Feints”, don’t try to overuse these as a skilled player will easily counter them.
Rushing Wind
This move has hyperarmor and is a pretty decent chain starter and trading tool, don’t overuse it though.
Rushing Wind Alternate
These are awful, don’t even use them unless you intend on feinting them, and even then they’re too risky, best just not too use them [/b]
Blade Blockade is a defensive move unique to Aramusha, with this move he can block from all 3 sides for 400 ms, this makes for a decent option select. Whenever you manage to make an attack hit blade blockade you have 4 options:
Ring the Bell
Ring the Bell is done by pressing light attack after a succesful BB (Blade Blockade), it makes Aramusha hit the opponent on the head with a hiltstrike dealing 20 damage and stunning them, giving you mediocre but useable mixup potential, such as: a light, zone or GB.
Fury Unleashed
Fury Unleashed is done by pressing heavy from top after a succesful BB. It makes Aramusha slash both swords downward into the opponent, this move has hyperarmor. This move is dependant on what character you’re fighting, so you should study what class and character you’re fighting before using this move, click this for full detail on when to use and not to use the move.
Twin Vipers
Twin Vipers is done by pressing side heavy after a succesful BB. it’s a slow, unblockable heavy with hyperarmor that does high damage but the opponent can parry and dodge it easily. You can deadly feint out of this move by pressing light in another direction during the startup of this move. This move can be pretty decent for trading or when you catch your opponent attacking.
The Basics
As an Aramusha, your main goal should be getting into your Deadly Tempest chain and throwing delayed tempest lights, to do this you have 2 options;
– Backstep light attack
– Backstep top heavy
The Backstep light attack grants you pretty decent access to the chain light right after that, you can delay it by 233 ms to make it faster and unreactable similair to the deadly feints, though these are slightly slower. Practicing delaying chain lights is important as Aramusha.
The other option is backstop top heavy, the top heavy can be dodge canceling out if incase a fast attack comes at you and, like the light attack, gives you the ability to chain into your lights are heavies.
When you land a chain light your best offensive option is to throw a heavy into the same direction and either feinting it, letting it fly, or deadly feinting it (Note that you can delay deadly feints slightly, too!).
Continue pressuring your opponent like this since this combo goes on infinitely (unless you feint or let the heavy finisher fly, of course)
This is your bread and butter as Aramusha.
As a side note; Aramusha is one of the only character who can get a heavy off of a parried heavy, this is good as your top heavy does 25 damage and lets you enter the tempest chain.
Defending
Aramusha is one of the best defensive heroes in the game, having literally next to no guardbreak vulnerability on his heavies from all directions along with the fact that the side heavies do about 40 damage (meaning that 4 of them kills in opponent, 3 brings them down to critical health severely limitingt heir options against you)
This is the reason the attacking section was so short; Aramusha is not a good attacker, as he shines when he uses his absurdly overtuned counter attacks.
You can dodge cancel your whiffed top heavy, which means that you can use this to bait out opponents for a free gb if they commit to their attack.
To use Aramusha’s defence to it’s fullest you must learn how to react to gb indicators and throw heavies on the right timing, when you see the little broken shield icon, you press heavy and it will land almost every time because of the non-existant guardbreak vulnerability
Advanced
This was popularized by the like of Anime Expert and Prince Oreo, and it is quite effective if you’re proficient in it.
What this is is basically taking advantage of Aramusha great feinting game; you cancel the animation of the feint into a BB right after you press the feint button when you see an incoming attack. This can be used as a pretty decent counter attack but your stamina will drain rather quick so a lot of practice is required.
