Overview
A mini-guide to the locations of the Heart Shards needed for the BFF’s in Denial achievement. MARIAAA!
Heart Shard 1
Located in “The Fissure” global dungeon in Overture, inside the giant hole (closest warp: Craike Village).
Heart Shard 2
Located in “Pharohzun Castle” global dungeon in Judgement (closest warp: Barroco Village). Enter the far left locked door on the third floor and it leads you right to the shard.
Heart Shard 3
Located in the Temple of Time global dungeon in Revolution (closest warp: Urchine Village).
To unlock this, you first need the Mole’s Key from the giant hole in the part of the world map where the mecha-mole boss was located (closest warp: Omnom Village). Then go to the Spent Coal Mine global dungeon (closest warp: Mushroomson Village) and you can unlock the path to the Time Key.
Heart Shard 4
Located in the “Unrivaled Championship of the World” (a.k.a. the Tower of Contracts) global dungeon in Ragnarok (closest warp: Contractu Village).
You must beat the bottom-most coliseum fight, which is technically the hardest to get. It requires fighting Cozain in all the various places he shows up as a random enemy, as well as beating the first 2 coliseum tournaments (not counting the story tournament). As a random encounter, he is not incredibly rare, just keep fighting enemies for a few minutes and one of them should be Cozain.
These locations are:
Pharohzun Castle Global Dungeon – Judgement
Temple of Time Global Dungeon – Revolution
Underground Coliseum Global Dungeon – Ragnarok
The first 2 locations are detailed above (shards 2 and 3). Underground Coliseum is located in the middle of the racetrack after beating that quest in Ragnarok, and the entrance is right next to a town.
When he is fought in these places, the Earth Coliseum will have challengers and you will be able to fight Cozain to get him on your team and recieve the heart shard.
Heart Shard 5
Located on Floor 25 of the Demon Labyrinth inside a chest. This is the floor with the many spikes and moving walkways.
Using the Shards
Once all shards are obtained you can unlock the doors 1-5 at the bottom of the Demon Labyrinth and fight with your rival to obtain the title, achievement and a new character.
For this battle, it’s recommended that you are at least global level 110, with the Boost Hero or Skill Maker formation, Drain Axe+ skill, and a herb for backup. If you don’t have Drain Axe+, you can get it by upgrading the Blood Axe you get in Q50 Ragnarok (fighter job path).
