Overview
This guide will contain my personal theories about certain characters in the HM2,not all of them though. For example : i think that the fans have not (yet) been properly introduced (story-wise). Of course this guide will update every time something about the upcomming tittle is leaked or if the game actually gets realesed. If you have anything to prove my theories wrong, yell at me about it.Of course spoilers are a thing (only of the first game though).The snapshots taken from the HM2 look kinda bad though.
Martin Brown (Pig butcher)
Martin Brown is a director and the lead actor of the movie “Midnight animal”. The movie is based on jacket`s story in the first HM.
Now when we got that out of the way, lets start looking for clues and references.
The first clue is on Decadence.Everybody knows that at the end of decadence you fight the big black dude and steal his lady friend.
“But why is he important to the plot” Well you start seeing him (after death) as a common enemy and sometimes eating something from your fridge, but the most important encounter with him is in the sewers on “Full House”.Where he says “this is a dream isn`t it, this is all a dream” and you get Jones the alligator mask. Remember Jones`s stat line-“more gorre”, it was actually a known cliche for old horror / slasher movie victims to have anatomically incorrect amounts of blood.
(Back to HM2)In the cutsceene where Martin is being interviewed about the movie, he starts rambling about how he loves killing people in groosome ways, while the host was going comletely bonkers. Martin quicly realises what was going on and he says…
You also ulock the pig mask right before you play Decadence, coincidence, i think not.
I think that both the director and producer knew each other and that they have done some terrible things.
Jake the Snake (Fat dude)
Jake (his name probably) is quite literaly Eric Cartman (i`m preety sure that at one point he says “respect my authority”) and he likes to wear his hoodie straped to his stomach (what a casual).
I`m preety sure that his story takes place at the same time as jacket`s.
Sadly nothing major about this characters is revealed, he just at one point gets the phonecall and goes on a Russian mafia kill rampage. Jake frickin loves Murica, that would explain the “Old dixie” flag on his sofa and him wanting the same flag tatood on his arm, but he really hates Russians, explains how he calls whipeing a whole work center of everything Russian a speciall occasion and him being so mean to the Russian store owner.
But the thing that cought my eye was his dead body found on “Hot and Heavy” on the second floor.
Next to his body you can find the jake the snake mask. The mask stat line is -leathal throws-which means that Jake is probably quite a baseball fan or used to be a baseball player.
I think that he died preety recently before jacket arrived,because the mobsters diden`t even bother to clean it up.
Russian Mobster (bald black dude)
Again,nothing yet revealead about this guy, exept that he seemed preety worried about being a mobster, i wonder why…
Maybe the dreams were telling him to get the frick away from thise Russians or a white boy is going to come along and whoop his butt.
Oh hey that man looks familiar
Ginger beard (shop/night club/movie rental place/pizza place worker from the first game)
But really though,you could tell that beard is going to be the soldier man even before the screenshot came out.
At all the pax interviews Dennis (dev) wore a Hotline Miami 2 inspired shirt which contained images off all the masks within the second game.But there was one that wasn`t a mask. It was a green helmet with broken glasses under it. And what other picture of the second game contained broken glasses…
“Ok.makes sense but the greater question is why does he work everywhere in Miami and why is he always giving jacket free stuff.
Beard`s relationship with jacket is very weird. Its obvious that they met before, in the army maybe. Its also obviuos that Beard doesn`t work every lowpaid workplace in Miami…. Now i don`t want to delve in to the story of the first game, there is already a guide about that.Presumably his story takes place before jacket`s. I replayed the first game just to see if he says anything about the army or his and jackets past relationship. nothin
I`m tired, lets move on to the next guy.
Pardo (detective) and Evan (writer)
In the cutsceene before “The Homicide” Manny is talking to the bartender, telling her that she wouldn`t believe what THEY make him do.
Now who are “they”?
The police?
I don`t think its the police because they were suprised to see Manny at the crime sceene and i don`t think that the police were influencing mas murders back in the day.
50 blessings?
That would be my second gues, mainly because i don`t think that the janitors would target random junkies, or that they even exist in Pardos timeline.
The Russian mob?
Probably, i mean we learn while playing with Evan that Pardo is friends with a mob boss,they probably sent him to deal with a rival gang.
The Mafia sent him of all people because he probably had a licence to kill (being a detective and all),or the Mafia is actually Blackmailing him :O.
Thats all i got for now, moving on to Evan.
Evan
Evan is a really weird dude, on a weirdness scale of 1/10 he is somewhere around 11.
He is determined to find out more about the masked dudes, much so that he has a detective giving him leads about certain cases.
He can`t control his temper. He tries to not kill people, and instead of shooting guns he unloads them.
Performing ground executions makes him go into Rage mode, where he takes of his shirt (revealing his mad guns), and goes crazy on dem mobsters. I`m lead to believe that some experiences in his past made him act this way.
That`s it for Evan as well, the only thing i have to say is that the book he says is writting is probably not his objective.He has sick sideburns though.

Alex and Ash
There is more to this brother – sister combo than i thought there will be.
Its a hard thing to notice but the masks they are wearing aren`t really masks, they are actually plastic helmets made to look like swans.
Swan #1 knows a lot about car stuff since he is the one who fixed the van in the cutsceene after that one level i forgot the name of.
Maybe they are a part of helmets crew, but yet again who knows.
Mark
Who else is a big dude who dual wields machine guns…
I`m not going to say that the Police chief and Mark are connected because i don`t want to jinx it.
I`ll leave it at that.
