Overview
A bunch of ways to help yourself catch those pesky kids.
The Neighbor’s Vocabulary
As a Neighbor, you need to be able to catch those pesky kids, but before we get into kid-catching methods, we need to go over some vocabulary.
Leader-Buffed: Under the effects of a Leader’s Inspiration
Choco-Buffed: Under the effects of a Speedy Choco Bar.
Speedy Choco Bar: The Consumable Chocolate Bars that give you a speed boost when eaten.
Kid-Fake: The Neighbor disguised as a Kid.
More may be added to this list in the future.
Trick – Kid Sprinting
When playing as the Neighbor, you may notice that you have a limited sprint, and run slower. How do you fix this massive issue? You turn into a Kid-Fake and run. When disguised, the Neighbor runs as fast as a kid without a sprint limit. This allows you to vatch up to your enemies a lot quicker than normal.
Trick – Choco Buffing
When you need to catch those pesky kids, you might need a little pick-me-up. That’s what these mysterious chocolate bars are for. Eat one and you’ll be able to outrun a kid and catch them quickly. This works especially well if they’re a distance away and you don’t have time to turn into a Kid-Fake. Choco Buffing is an amazing technique that has saved my basement time and time again. Try it out, you’ll be surprised at how much this helps.
Dodging & Juking
When you’re trying to catch a kid, you might encounter one that will run away and toss garbage at you. You need to be able to dodge the incoming garbage as well as possible in order to catch up to them. Turn into a Kid Fake to be able to run faster and get harder to hit, as you’ll be smaller. Zig-zag you way over to the enemy kid, and incorporate some jukes into your sprint. To juke, simply fake into one direction, then quickly move in the other. It helps a ton, trust me.
Predicting Jukes
When you’re chasing a kid, and they go around a corner whilst looking at you, they may be looking to juke you and slip out of your gloves. If you think an opponent may be trying to juke you, try to catch them before they can pull it off, or simply try to predict their juke by moving in an unexpected way. For example, if someone is trying to corner-juke you, round the corner in a wide arc.
The End.
This is the end of the guide for now. I’ll try to update it later on.
