The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Guide

how 2 spawn Edmund for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

how 2 spawn Edmund

Overview

A guide on how to spawn Edmund Mcmillen himself! NOTE: Screenshot contains Greed Mode Spoiler

NOTICE

Doing this requires the Afterbirth DLC. Without it you wouldn’t be able to accomplish this. I achieved this on Greed Mode after defeating the final boss. There is the possibility that it may not work under different conditions (although it should).

Introduction

This guide here, yes the one you are reading, will tell you how to spawn Edmund McMillen himself in-game! You will be informed of what items are needed and how they must be used.

Items

These items can be acquired in any order, as long as you have them by the end. Items you will need include the Blank Card (active) and ? Card (card pickup). The ? Card is a somewhat rare pickup available upon purchase of the Afterbirth DLC. Blank Card requires that you beat the boss in The Cathedral with Eden .

Instructions on how to perform.

Once these items have been obtained you can play through the game normally until you get to one of the two final floors (Dark Room or Chest) or the final floor of Greed Mode. At any point on these floors you can spawn Edmund by pressing space to use your active item. A screenshot of the results is attached.

Explanation (spoilers kinda)

Blank Card is an item that will duplicate the effect of your currently held card. ? Card, however, will duplicate the effect of your active item. Using these items in combination will take you to the floor’s I AM ERROR room. This room contains a trapdoor to the next floor and the Edmund shopkeeper. It can also contain a number of items or bosses. This room has no exit though, and it is nowhere located on the map (like a Devil/Angel deal). Think of it like an Angel/Devil deal but without an exit, forcing you to go through the trapdoor too the next floor. Since the final floors have nothing after them, they do not have an ERROR room, therefore, it cannot take you there. As an apology for not existing, this room will gift the Edmund Shopkeeper to you, so now you can blow it up or something. Do whatever you want. That’s it. Thanks for reading.
