Overview
This is going to help everyone understand what the infections going to look like, how to fix it and how to give a lethal dose of it.
Infections Background Info
In Contagion, one of the most annoying features is the ability to infect a survivor when you are a player zombie or get infected by any zombie.
What Does It Look Like?
When you as a survivor get infected you will not notice it immediately. However as the time progresses you will start to notice that your screen will become increasingly blurry. The background sounds as well as the sounds you make ie. gun shots and running will be distorted. Towards the end your character will clutch its head and bend over in pain and lets out a very distinct cry. Afterwords you will drop all your items and become one of the undead in the same position.

How Long Does It Take?
The infection cycle usually starts about 10-15 secs after you were infected. The overall cycle lasts about 1 1/2 mins to 2 mins.
How Do You Get Infected?
You can be infected on any game mode and any map unless you are playing by yourself and you have the infection ability turned off.
Well there is only 2 ways you can get infected. The first way to be grappled and bitten by a PLAYER ZOMBIE, the second way is to be consistently hit by either a ai zombie or player controlled zombie.
Normally it is quite unlikely for you to be infected when you have more than 60% of your health left after an attack. However it is still possible to get infected. If you have a low ammount of health the chances of infection drastically increases.
Servers with a higher level difficulties and with a lot more players have a much much higher chance for infections to occur.

Disclaimer: I have tested this extensively with my friend on a empty and full server so these stats are quite correct.
Easy attack 00 % – grapple/bite 15 %
Normal attack 03 % – grapple/bite 25 %
Hard attack 08 % – grapple/bite 38 %
Extreme attack 20 % – grapple/bite 50 %
Treatment
There is currently no way to cure infections. Meaning once you are infected you may as well try to kill yourself, YOLO it or just let it run its course.
Other words, you are screwed.
In the future I believe there may be a vaccine item to cure infections but its most likely won’t be added in.
Don’t bother using and wasting a medkit on your character because it won’t do anything.
Prevention
I mean there isn’t anything you can do to prevent this from happening, best suggestion is to pay attention to your surroundings and not get hit or grappled from behind. If you don’t want to get infected, play on easier setting servers or less populated servers or servers where there is no infections ability set on.
