The Block and its Stats
So you have a cube. Cubes don’t roll. Or do they?
This game uses a realistic physics engine (thank God) to influence gameplay.
The regular boulders – you will notice – ROLL. And once you get them going…well they can be hard to slow or turn, just like cars, those unripe tomatoes that plopped on your kitchen floor…and stuff. And although The Cube (the Block of Ages) can take awhile to get going, it definitely rolls along the track. Typically you MUST press the spacebar to jump and go forward to get started. You cannot make sharp turns as with normal boulders. You also need to be mindful of traps or steep slopes. If you start going off the main track, this could spell the end of the game, as you cannot speed up quick enough to get back on track. Again, BE MINDFUL OF TRAPS. Also, a slow boulder is not necessarily a careful one.

And now for the stats. You may think the Block is a useless playable option. It not just a joke, mind you. The boulder is invincible as long as it’s on the track. This means it has no health bar, cannot shed layers and become smaller and rounder and cannot die and make you respawn. Now the downside to this is once you collect enough money by bashing things (which is honestly a waste of time with the Block) you don’t ragequit and start back at base, setting up more new units. On the plus side, it depletes 50% of your enemy’s gate health if you so much as poke it. THAT is a well-earned reward for reaching their gate with the slowest option EVER. 2 hits and you win! Heck I would troll people with this if I had the time. But as of today (6-21-13) there’s almost no-one waiting on multiplayer. They’re probably busy with Bioshock Infinite or Dota 2. But be proud of yourself knowing you have this wonderful trolling option! USE THE FORCE. Even if it’s just the AI you’re playing against. Use it!
Strategy
Your main problems with the Block are
1) Speed
2) Time
Honestly, other than NOT falling off cliffs and NOT wasting time collecting gold you can only improve your chances of winning by buying time. And this means…trolling the enemy!
I would suggest starting mid-game at Madrid so you have a decent amount of starting money AND a narrow track to place UNAVOIDABLE traps. Try Tier 3 Dynamite (explosives, single-use) or a checkerboard arrangement of mammoths (unlimited use unless knocked over or off the track). Place them all near the natural hazard (the minotaur..thing) for maximum pain. You WANT your opponent’s ball to be crushed halfway through the track (or further) to waste your enemy’s time and send them back to the spawnpoint.
In the meantime, you just keep on trollin..I mean rolling =P
