How to add custom music into GTA IV

Overview

Now I get asked alot from my friends when ever they come over to my house , and they say while I play GTA IV on Steam, and they say,hey can I play on your Xbox and play( I have a Xbox360 controller) after a while, they notice that Beatles songs are on one of the Radio stations in GTA IV, then they realize they aren’t even playing on a Xbox360, but a PC. And I show them How to do it, and now, they want to get GTA IV on steam, instead on his ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Xbox360. So let’s just catch to chase, and move on to adding custom music in GTA IV(the guide myself and my 2 other freinds help make together).

The step-by-step procces : D

First, of course for dummies is to install GTA IV, and at least play the fisrt mission and get a WINDOWS LIVE account, yet Games for windows exist still ; however, Windows Live Does not, any how, Like I’m Saying sign in or create a Windows LIve account,(-or sign into a current Windows LIVE/Xbox LIVE account-) and an update might come up, LET IT UPDATE or you will not be able to save your game progress! and play the first mission and save. The exit the game when it’s done saving.

– Then Go to the desktop/steam

-Next go to the start button where ever the Windows button is. it’s usually on the bottom left corner for me.

-Go to Documents

-You should find a folder named Rockstar Games

-Open the folder, click GTA IV

-Go to user music

-add in alllllllllllllll the music you want that’s under 150 songs(Idk how may songs, I have about 132 in the folder), I perfer go to the Music folder on the C drive/local disk and get majortiy or a little bit of music i want!

-Copy and paste it into the User Music folder

-IMPORTANT- Rename all the songs by numbers, so the game can play it more efficiently, and if you don’t rename it, the Independence radio station will just play ads. Also note that the game will only take WMA and MP3 format songs!!!!

-Once done, start up GTA IV. go to audio options and press Complete scan. It will convert every song to a special format for the game to play, so it may take a while.

-now you can listen to music on the Independent radio station

-note there will be ads/commercials from the game on this station
