Overview
This is how to aim in Holdfast events with a musket and actually kill things:The key to shooting from afar is NOT being pin point accurate and having the perfect level of your reticle on the enemy. I use the default reticle and base all of my aim from the BOTTOM line. The secret to aiming is…Bottom reticle on their feet if they kinda close, and maybe a little bit up like say chest if they way over there, and if you are for some reason sniping from kilometers away than bottom reticle on their heads. This strategy of not wasting time trying to get the perfect shot has allowed me to get more kills from afar than everyone else in my line. Bullets are effected by horizontal deviation which most people understand and there is no real way to correct for it, however most people don’t know that there is also vertical deviation called gravity. While testing i found out the gravity whenever you shoot can range from 15-45. This is a pretty big difference when shooting from afar, so if they way over there, it does not matter too much where your bottom reticle is, as long as it is around they’re feet-stomach. I don’t get very many shots when aiming higher but you will get kills regardless cause of gravity. So instead of focusing on “80 meters, bottom reticle on their upper chest”, focus on “they way over there, just gonna point my crosshair near them and hope for the best”. this will allow you to focus on other things like listening to officers. this method made me get a lot more kills than most of the guys around me. This is just from my experience, and honestly, just do what works best for you because after time you’ll start to know where to point your reticle and it will become second nature.
