Overview
A guide on how to replace the English dub to the original Japanese voices. And also how to revert the images back to it’s original Japanese uncensored version. Also contains miscellaneous information such as links to card database, official livestream sites, etc.
How to change to Japanese Voice
Cygames have graciously included a setting that allow us to change the spoken language of the game. No more copying of the ‘v’ and ‘m’ folder everytime there are new cards!
Step 1: Changing the Game to the Japanese version
The first thing you need to do, is to acquire the correct files from the japanese version of the game. Luckily, the steam version actually comes with it. You just need to tweak a few settings to get it.
Note: A list of the files will be added to the back of the guide.
Go to your games library and look for Shadowverse:
Right click on it and select Properties:
Go the language tab to change the language to Japanese:
Wait for the game to update:
Step 2: Acquiring the Japanese files
Now that the game is fully updated to the Japanese version, you can now extract out the files required. (Note that this is actually similar to the andriod version and people who modded it in the android version should know how to do this)
Navigate to your steam folder, which is at C:UsersusernameAppDataLocalLowCygamesShadowverse
You will see many folders. The folder we are interested in are ‘v’ for voicelines, ‘m’ for movies, and ‘a’ for artwork/animations.
Copy out the folders you wish to modify. This will serve as your backup folder for japanese files. You will have to do this because steam will overwrite all the files in the shadowverse steam game directory. As the spoken language can be set in game now, the folder we are interested in is the ‘a’ folder.
Screenshot is outdated
You now have the Japanese files. (Some has noted that you might want to start the game before copying the files)
Step 3: Restoring your Shadowverse to the English Version.
This step is exactly the same as Step 1 except this time you are changing it back. With any luck, you should still have the window open. If not, below are some screens to guide you:
Note that similarly, some people mentioned that starting the game to proc the in-game update at this point of time is a good idea.
Step 4: Replacing the English files
First rule of modding is ALWAYS BACKUP.
Navigate back to your Shadowverse folder. With any luck, it should still be open. If not, it should be at C:UsersusernameAppDataLocalLowCygamesShadowverse.
Copy out the folders you are about to replace (The “a” folder) as a backup somewhere in your computer. Preferably not the place you placed the japanese “a” folder as that will just replace it. It’s good to keep a backup of both just in case.
Next replace the selected files in the game itself.
Note: If you want to replace the censored images, you need to extract only certain files from the “a” folder and not everything as it will cause your entire game to revert to Japanese. The list of the files is provided at the end of this guide. Big thanks to Shiki and Hikki.
Step 5: Play the game
Double click on the Shadowverse icon to play the game.
List of files for Isabelle’s Glorious Double Ds (and others if needed)
First of all, Big thanks to Shiki and Hikki for the work they have done. You are the heroes Shadowverse deserve and also the heroes we need right now.

Following this trend, the respective class and their images should naturally be:

- 02 for Erika
- 03 for Isabelle
- 04 for Rowen
- 05 for Luna
- 06 for Urias

This does not include the extra characters from the Bahamut Skin pack yet.
Lastly, remember that all the files must be changed for a smooth transition, a total of 12 files per character.
How to get iM@s or any other sleeves and emblems (No longer working)
This portion comes from Quaraezha
*Note: People have been saying that this is unobtainable now. As someone who already have the sleeve I can’t tell so more feedback would be nice, guide will still be left here to allow people who do have it mod the game correctly
HOW TO GET iDOLM@STER EMBLEMS/SLEEVES
1. Go to Steam Client’s Library
2. Right-click Shadowverse and click Properties
3. Go to Language Tab and switch to Japanese
4. Let the update download (100+MB)
5. Launch the game (now in Japanese)
6. Claim your free Emblems from your Crate
7. Go to the Sleeves Store to buy the free idol Sleeves
(sdark: Sadly, this promotion is gone now. The only use for this section is for people who did it during the promotion period.)
These iDOLM@STER Emblems and Sleeves are only viewable by JP clients.
(sdark: Sadly, they have patched this out too. You can no longer view im@s sleeves and emblem outside of playing the Japanese version of the game)
HOW TO MAKE THEM VIEWABLE WITH THE ENGLISH CLIENT:
1. While the game is still Japanese, go here: C:UsersusernameAppDataLocalLowCygamesShadowversea (Might be Hidden Folder)
2. Backup master_emblem_data.unity3d
3. Backup master_sleeve_master.unity3d
4. Revert back Shadowverse to English (Properties > Language > English)
5. Open the game, download the small patch, then close the game
6. Paste master_emblem_data.unity3d and master_sleeve_master.unity3d back in the same folder
7. You may now use and view the idol emblems and sleeves in the English client.
You may have to re-apply this method whenever the game has a patch.
Anyone else using a JP client and applied this method can view those emblems/sleeves.
Otherwise, they will be seen as the default emblem/sleeves.
If you have the uncensor/undub patches, you have to re-apply those after this.
(sdark: You should be doing this step concurrently with the uncensor patching)
Further Note: You have to do the above step in the exact order or your shadowverse will be stuck in the loading screen. (1st hand experience)
Uncensored cards from Rage of Bahamut (The other card game)
*NEW*
/u/Axel493 from reddit has found cards that were censored from the rage of bahamut game. The cards are censored in all versions of Shadowverse, unlike Isabelle. The way to obtain and modify said cards are in
He mentions that he will update his list and files with all the latest ones so I will just be linking to him. No reason to do double work. 😉
More information such as card art, card voice (all language), JP seiyuus
There is a handy dandy site called [link] that has every information for the cards and leaders in Shadowverse. You can navigate to the card itself and
Details includes:
- All details that are found in game.
- Full card art
- Full voice lines (Eng, ♥♥♥, Kor) for cards and leaders
- Voice actors of the cards and leaders (Only for JP)
Note that for SVDB you can change the language while viewing the cards. You will have to google the names in Japanese.
However, newer cards tend to not be updated with the Japanese seiyuus as quickly. The alternative method is to go to [link] to find it out.
Go to the card you want:
Scroll down to the language area and change it to japanese:
You will see a new field appear under “CV”:
Google the Japanese name and you get who voiced the cards.

Important Notice
Guide is working as of 20/7/2017
Additional Notes
Replacing the “m” folder in the android version does nothing, however, it works on the steam version.
Thanks to reddit user https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzgbLrN5GVTR5jgQsy9vnkg, you can now download the patcher to do it for you!
