how to deal with the bots that everybody uses part 2!!!!! for Robocraft

how to deal with the bots that everybody uses part 2!!!!!

Overview

the award winning follow up to my award winning guide…..

what has changed

assuming your knowledge of robocraft was limited to the previous installment of this guide, many things have changed:

smg’s are less accurate,

helicopters (a part you can bet you will see often in this guide) have been added

aerofoils have dropped 1 minimum tier.

(note: For the entirety of this guide, i am assuming you are not overtiering. if you have problems beating the same exact bot as yours, you have problems that not even your mommy can solve.all times when there is stuff still locked, it will be denoted as hippocrite. some people had problems with this last time. this is why i have to rant.)

note part 2: i have actually been using a couple of these guys, so you can see pictures for them. there are only 2.

good things to know

plasmas reload faster when you have less of them.

the highest you can have a weapon above the tier you wish to be in is +3

diminishing returns affects wheels at 8, thruster at 12, and hovers at 8

when there are more than 7 smgs ona bot, they will fire ina random order

helium is generaly used to make bots lighter or glide proficiently, not fly.

shooting wings and rotors off of flyer are the best idea.

alignment rectifiers no longer exist, you get a 10 sec rectifier that works every time.

most flyer will put thier main thrusters next to thier seat for a quick getaway afyer being largely destroyed.

for as much as you hate the cpu limit, flyers hate it more.

tier 3 redux

even yet more plasma bombers:

threat level l—l——l
how to deal with: smg’s tapfire (shoot once, let the reticle slide back down, repeat). if you have a decent bot you wont die.

plasma tanks:
threat level l—-l—–l
to beat ground plasma, understand thier timing, and shoot them when the come out from thier corner.

tier 4 redux

mlg rail swag
threat ll—–l really?
just understand that rails wont hit you when thier cursor or bot moves. as a flyer, be the first to react.

meh flyers
threat levell—-l yay for the same advice repeated
basic plasma bomber
tapfire
plasma: step it up
rail:free kill

tier 5 redux

i hope you guys see a pattern here

ermagerd copterszzzzz
threat: l–l—–l quite frankly nothing is different here
since these are new, i guess ill go in depth.
plasma are the most common, and tend to be even more stupid than the others, and will be wolfpacked right off the bat.
as long as you are a ground/tank, smgs shouldnt be an issue either. go for the rotors first.
rails dont work on copters, so you wont see those.
medics are always an issue, but shooting their rotors if you have the chance is a good boon for your team.

oh yeah, tesla blades are in this tier, back off.

tier 6 time

my first walker
low tier rails, t7 legs, will clim bonto cliffs, its these guys that let me respect bombers again. if you can it the legs, ou may be able to go over and finish the job, but dont be stupid and jump off a cliff. we have bombers for those moments.
threat level l-l—-l (oh please)

real medics

threat l—–l-l actually have to do stuff

if there is a smart medic on one side, he can never have to see a tank on him, and thats bad. your best hope is to use bombers, but doing that requires mlg skills. your best chance as a ground vehicle is to find a sight line, and immobilize the medic. this at least stops the enemys advance, as they will want heals all the time. I may even put out a bomber guide depending on whether people want it or not.

overtier machine guns

l——ll (oh s***)
these guys are experienced players t8+ who have manipulated the game into letting them fire an overtier smg at half the max rate. you really stand no chance against these guys, as they willl protect their gun. this is where rails can be a life saver.

tier 7

now, about here you will stop seeing things like prebuilt bots, and complete noobs. while this is generally a bad thing, you teammates wont be those guys either. its around here where simply being a decently built ground vehicle wont make you a pubstomper. I encourage you to try new things, even bombers ( :o). this being said, issuing things like “kill bombers to save medics” is now more receptive, and a good reminder to the helpful people you find more often. at this point too. there are no real bots that everybody uses anymore that i havent covered. there will still be tons of rail walkers for instance, but their method to killing doesnt change. at this point as well, new stuff isnt unlocked and immediately spammed, so there is less “ermagerd ultra hax” materials anymore as well. with this in mind, I wont be making this series of guides to t10+.

tier 8-10

big boy pants are unlocked here, i recommend you use them.
