Overview
Hopefully this guide will give you more information on how to beat the bosses of Pinga Ponga. Note : This game is designed for co-op play so if you’re like me and had to play like solo, you’re going to have a more difficult time than others. Also this isn’t going to tell you how to step by step beat the bosses guaranteed. This is simply to allow you to gain an advantage by being given information from a player who had been spending quite a bit of time playing right off the bat. Achievements The achievements in this game are to defeat each of the bosses one by one. So if you’re only playing this game for the achievements, then hopefully this will be of use to you.
Boss #1
If you’ve seen this boss then you can tell how simple it is. This is definitely the easiest boss out of the six by far. The main tip I can give for this boss is to keep the ball as horizontal as you can because you’re going to have to hit it directly on the top or the bottom with a straight shot so you will not be able to make it through if you’re making it bounce vertically.
The developer had commented on my review of the game, stating that he had nerfed the bosses. This was somewhere around 9 hours after I posted my review. He had changed the amount of points that is needed to defeat a boss from 5 to 3. The only boss I had beaten at that time was Boss #1. So I had to beat him by scoring 5 points so lucky you, you only need to score 3.
If you’re brand new and are only here for the achievements and are diving right into the bosses then I suppose this one will give you the general feel of the mechanics in the game. You will notice that the acceleration is very unstable so that in the further bosses it will only get more difficult.
Boss #2
Yeah, I know. First its the easiest boss, then its one of the most difficult. Though this one being the most difficult is my opinion. The first boss being the easiest is a plain fact.
What you’re going to do is set it to two players and then start the game. You’re going to either leave the second paddle in the middle or to the very bottom or top. If you leave the AI on by playing single player then it will just run into a bullet. The two monsters shoots bullets in a straight line that will destroy your paddle if hit by the way. But if you destroy your paddle by hitting the ball back but get hit by the bullet, you can have the secondary paddle from the two player option.
On this level I have experienced more than once that on a scale of Legendary | Rare | Uncommon | Common | Likely | Most Likely, it is uncommon that if you leave both paddles sitting still when the game starts, the ball will fly past between the middle cloud and past the monsters in which will score a point. If you wish you can continously restart the match until this happens.
Boss #3
This is literally the only boss I have not and cannot beat. I have spoken with the developer and he or she had told me that the life points (There is no instructions in this game so I didn’t even know it had life points) of the lasers on this Boss had been reduced to 5. (What was it before? 10? You had to score 5 points when that happened so what, we were supposed to hit it 50 times back at the boss’s laser?)
I have no information on this boss other then what I had typed above. I refuse to attempt to beat this boss without any futher acknowledgement from the developer.
Boss #4
Now you’re going to want to change it back to single player for this boss. The AI will act as your goalie. Since your paddle plays so close to the Boss and it’s goons, you’re going to have an easier time making horizontal shots which will help make a clean shot through for a point. Your AI might even give a straight horizontal shot for you when it reflects the ball.
As I said with Boss #1, this doesn’t require too much information, just try to make horizontal shots as vertical shots will make it messy and will waste time.
Boss #5
This Boss enjoys shooting boulders to the bottom space so I would recommend steering clear from the bottom space. The top space will be hard because the boulder will bounce to the top left every so often but it isn’t as hard as trying to score towards the bottom.
The boulders on the top right and bottom right act as shields from straight on horizontal shots so you’re going to need to bounce the ball off of the roof of the map while still making it straight enough to get past the Boss. The boulders also hit the ball and knock it into the direction that the boulder was going.
The map is small and everything travels fast so if your paddle is destroyed from the boulder then you will not have enough time to transfer to the second paddle. Also you will need a second goalie so the AI will come in handy. If possible I would greatly recommend playing this map co-op.
Boss #6
The overall stategy is extremely easy to understand, it is the execution that can be troubling. You’re not going to be trying to score for at least half of each round on this boss. You’re going to be hitting the ball on a horizontal pace back and forth until enough time goes by where the speed of the ball will begin to pick up. The enemy paddle’s simply travel too fast to protect from scoring so you will need to just play back and forth until you’ve gained enough speed to hit the ball vertically in which it will bounce off of either the top roof, or the bottom floor, and will trick the enemy paddle’s into going the wrong way, making it too late for the paddles to switch directions.
Sometimes at the start of the round, your secondary paddle to the right will be misplaced in which they will be unequal, if you hurry and hold the down arrow in which both paddles are against the bottom, or top, doesn’t matter, they will be on an equal level. This can come in handy when you make the ball past the two smaller protective paddles, but bounces against the larger blockade of a paddle and need to quickly knock it back towards the blockade instead of it flying out of the room, back towards your first paddle. (This has happened to me so many times it made me so upset, this boss is the one i’ve had the most trouble with, if you do not count the Death Star)
