How to enjoy Paladins for Paladins

How to enjoy Paladins

Overview

I prefer playing solo and my aiming skills are terrible, but I can still enjoy the game after 1500 hours. How is that possible?

1- Having fun is more important than winning

If you let yourself feel angry, frustrated or even annoyed, you’ve already lost. So keep a lighthearted attitude and try to make fun of everything without insulting people, have some laughs. This is, after all, just a game, and stressing over it probably isn’t the best use of your time.

2- Don’t ever rely on anybody for anything

Don’t expect Supports to heal, nor Tanks to attack the objective. If you are playing with strangers, you don’t know how anybody is going to play, be it friend or foe. Inspecting their loadout(cards and items) might give you some insight but don’t presume to know the future.

3- Burst damage meta

Always keep in mind most champions can inflict a lot of damage in a short time. Therefore, I heartily recommend using 3rd person and exposing yourself as little as possible.

4- Fair fights are too easy to lose.

A good rule of thumb is to avoid x1 at all costs. Better to focus on securing the kill by targeting enemies with the lowest HP. Besides, you don’t want to face off against Lex or Koga if you can avoid it. They will deal too much damage while dancing all over the place.

5- As Tank try to protect your Support

Prioritize whoever is harassing your Support. If the two of you are targeting the same enemy there is a good chance he will retreat or die. Also, a well deployed shield will give you and your teammates a chance to get to cover, where the healing can begin.

6- As Support try to stay out of sight out of mind

Supports with healing loadouts are easy prey and will get targeted often. The best Supports I’ve ever faced were the ones I never saw.

7- If something isn’t working, don’t keep insisting on it

Understand what works and what doesn’t. Strive to learn everything you can about cards, items and abilities. Once you have a firm grasp of the game mechanics, create your own playstyle, don’t just copy a pro player’s deck. For instance, my marksmanship it not so hot and I get dizzy when moving around too much, but I also don’t like dying. So my playstyle revolves around staying far from danger, and hit and run tactics.
