Overview
Everything to know about the popular social experience known as Tower Unite
What is Tower Unite?
Tower Unite is the successor to ‘Garry’s Mod’ mod Gmod Tower (GMT), created by PixelTail Games. Tower Unite is a game based on meeting new people and having a good time. It has many features that create that social experience, and make you feel like you’re in the real world. There are also some features that make it feel like a video game. Tower Unite has many different game modes, stores to shop at, items to place, accessories to wear, and so much more.
Game Modes
There are many gamemodes including
- Minigolf
- Ball Race
- Virus
- Planet Panic
- Little Crusaders
Game Mode Objectives and Info
-
Minigolf
Play minigolf on many different maps of different difficulty levels. Use shortcuts and tricks to help reach the hole faster. Getting a lower score will increase the amount of units received.
-
Ball Race
Similar to Super Monkey Ball, you are inside of a ball, and must get to the end of the map, while trying to collect melons for extra units. Ball Race also has many different maps of different difficulty levels.
-
Virus
You and other players start on a map, and one player is randomly selected to start as the virus. There are a variety of weapons, such as an adrenaline shot to boost your players speed for a short period of time, a bomb that will explode when stepped on by a virus player, a pistol, a shotgun, and a machine gun.
-
Planet Panic
Find what animal is better; cats or dogs. You choose to either become a cat or a dog as you fly a UFO, and collect orbs in the middle of the map, attempting to return them to your side of the map. Dropping orbs into the center of your base will give your team points, but be careful, the other team can come and steal your orbs. You can also fire shots from your UFO at enemy players in an attempt to kill them. Respawning is a thing, so be ready to fight again. There are also many power ups such as Rapid Fire, Speed Up, Stealth, Metal Armor, and Vaccum.
-
Little Crusaders
The fight between a dragon and knights. There are a few things you can do as both positions. The dragon can Chomp, Run, Flutter, Scare, and Tail Swipe. The knight can Pick Up Items, Run, Interact, Rank Up, and Taunt. When you die, you become a Ghost the ghost can fly.
Other Activities
There are not only gamemodes to play, but also many other attractions that make Tower Unite a fun game and worth the $15 and time. These extra areas and activities include;
-
Movie Theatre
Watch youtube, listen to SoundCloud music, or watch Twitch livestreams.
-
Trivia
Answer questions against other players submitted by the community.
-
Arcade
The Arcade isn’t finished as of this guide, but is a great place to go and play fun arcade style games and possibly win or buy prizes. (this was posted before the arcade had working machines)
-
Volt Nightclub
The Volt Nightclub isn’t finished either, but when it is will be a great place to hang out, party, and enjoy a cold one with the boys. Listen to good music in an even better environment.
-
Bumper Cars
Bumper Cars is another game that isn’t finished, but hopefully will be an amazing game to play with others.
-
The Shooting Gallery
Earlier, before the shooting gallery was shut down, it was playable. I personally played it, and I enjoyed the gallery very much. Using a toy gun to shoot moving targets just seems enjoyable. They are also adding a roller coaster with targets to shoot at.
-
Laser Tag
One of my favorite games to play in the lobby is laser tag. Running around, jumping around, and shooting at other players is just too much fun. In laser tag you have three lives and three shots will kill you. After being killed you must recharge at one of the few charging stations at the bottom of the arena. Laser tag has a good payout and is a very fun game to play.
-
Bowling
Bowling is a good way to waste time and just grind units. Play against others or just play alone. There are two stores inside of bowling. One of them allows you to color your bowling ball, and the other allows you to buy special balls that have different styles.
-
Monorail
Use this ride to get around the Plaza very easily. Just hop on at the Tower, and ride straight to the middle of the Plaza. From there you have easy access to the stores, or just a faster way to get to the beach.
-
The Stray
This cute little cat hides behind the bowling alley, and sells special items such as the Catsack, Tiny Potion, and the Silver Catsack. There’s not any other use for the stray,
besides buying these items and maybe other future items. -
Oasis
This store is located behind the bowling alley, and in the far right beach hut. They sell a few different items like Surfboard, Sand Castle, Life Ring, Inflatable Boat, and a few more items.
-
Typing Derby
Play by yourself or play against other players in a race of who types the fastest. Type each word one by one, and click space after you’ve completed a word. Getting a streak of words correct for extra units.
-
Celebrations
Here you can buy fireworks of different types. You can also buy a snowman and halloween decorations.

Final Regards
I believe anyone who likes playing with friends, or meeting new friends, should buy Tower Unite.
The community is very active, aswell as the devs. The developers try fixing any bugs as soon as they are found, and usually do so. Tower Unite could be more than $15, and I’d still buy it. Tower Unite is very unique and is so enjoyable. Please, if you like the idea of Tower Unite, buy this game. It’s worth every penny, and you wont regret it.
