Overview
To all of you who downloaded the original free demo version of the game and are now unable to buy the complete version due to it saying you already have it, as well as it saying “Failed to start game. (missing executable.)” don’t worry! This is a very common problem and here’s a very simple and easy step by step guide of what I did to fix it!
Step 1
Select “Help” on the top down menu next to “games” and click on “Steam Support,” this will take you to the Steam Support screen which brings us onto step 2.
Step 2
Now that you are on the Steam Support page, scroll down to the search bar and type in “Bendy and the Ink Machine,” now that it has appeared under “products” click on it and it will bring us to step 3.
Step 3
Once you have clicked on Bendy and the Ink Machine under products this screen will appear asking you for what you need help with. Click on “I want to permanently remove this game from my account,” this will bring us onto the 4th and final step.
Step 4
It will now show you this screen, select “Ok, remove the listed games from my account permanently.” This will remove the game from your account and bring us onto the outro.

Congrats! If things went well and the steps have been followed accordingly, you can now buy the complete version of the game from the Steam store. I hope this guide helped you! I noticed a lot of people were suffering from this including I, so I decided to get a really quick and simple guide out to help those with the same problem I had.
Disclaimer: I do not know if this works if you had bought the other chapter DLC previously, I highly suggest you remove it as well just to be safe. It should be listed under the “DLC” section as seen in step 2.
