Overview
Fixes for;Punkbuster not connecting, Battlefield not launching &Battlelog forced mode
PUNKBUSTER
To fix Punkbuster related issues,
download punkbuster from their website and install it. Select Battlefield 4 and let the program update for you.
Download: [link]
After you set that up, open TASK MANAGER and go to the “Services” tab. Under Services, scroll down to ‘P’ until you see “PnkBstrA” & “PnkBstrB”. Right click both processes and make sure you set them to the status RUNNING.
If you still have issues with Punkbuster, it is most likely related to your firewall settings. Open Windows Firewall and go to advanced settings. CREDIT FOR THIS FIX: INicexixI
-1. Open windows firewall
-2. click advanced settings( on the left) and then inbound (also left)
-3. Find PnkbstrA.exe and PnkbstrB.exe (if you have two of both, its fine)
-4. right click on each of them>properties>programs and services
-5. make sure that “all programs that meet the specifications” is checked
-6. then go to the “Advanced” tab and check all 3 boxes. Domain, Private and Public.
-7. REMEMBER TO DO THIS FOR ALL PnkBstr Files. then save and quit.
-8. Go to C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonBattlefield 4 and delete “Pb” folder.
-9. go to link :
– [link]
-10. download and install both
-11. Run Pbsetup.exe (the first link)
-12. add a game (eg. bf4)
-13. check for updates.
BATTLELOG
This fix is from another steam guide, credits to [link]
EA Suggested method (Not 100% success rate) [THIS ONE WORKED FOR ME]
1. Open Origin
2. Right Click Battlefield 4
3. Go to Advanced Launch Options
4. Set “When launching this game” to x86
(x86 IS BattleLog only mode)
5. Fully close Origin from Tray or Task Manager
6. Re-launch Origin
7. Follow steps 2 through 4 and set the game to x64
(x64 is UI NON-BattleLog only mode)
8. Launch BattleField 4 and your game will work if you’re lucky
My[MNGOwO’s] method (100% success rate)
1. Close Battlefield 4
2. Open the Origin application
(if you can play battlefield at all you have it)
3. Click ‘Origin’ in the top left of the application
4. Set it to Offline Mode
5. Launch Battlefield 4 from your desired launcher
6. Once the game loads up return origin to Online Mode
(follow steps 2 and 3 again essentially)
7. In battlefield hit “Go Online” and you should see everything load back up
Note: The success rate comes with the downside that this will be necessary each time you launch.
although unfortunate, at least it gives you a way to play the game like before this bug.
