How to fix the crash to desktop on DirectX 10

A simple guide to fix the constant CTDs when running the game on DX10.DOES NOT WORK ON WINDOWS 10

If the steps in [link] don’t work for you (they also did not work for me), follow these steps, they fixed my problem.

The crashes are caused by update KB2670838 (Windows 7). Basically, all you have to do to fix it is uninstall it.

1. Open the start menu
2. Go to control panel
3. Under “Programs” click “Uninstall a program”
4. On the top left “View installed updates”
5. After all the updates are displayed, simply search for “KB2670838” (without the quotes)
6. Uninstall it
7. Enjoy Bioshock 2 in DirectX 10.

1. Open Commandprompt (windows key + R and type cmd, or go to Start, type cmd in the search bar and press enter)
2. In the new black window that shows up type: wusa /uninstall /kb:2670838
   This will check if the update is installed. If it is, it will uninstall it.

3. “Программы и компоненты”
4. В левом окошке выбираем “Просмотр установленных объявлений”
5. Ждём пока загрузятся все обновления
6. Справа в окошке поиска вводим “KB2670838” без ковычек.
7. Удаляем её и перезагружаем компьютер.

2. Otwórz panel sterowania.
3. Pod odnośnikiem “Programy” kliknij w “Odinstaluj program”
4. W menu po lewej stronie kliknij “Wyświetl zainstalowane aktualizacje”
5. Gdy wszystkie aktualizacje się wyświetlą, wyszukaj “KB2670838” (bez cudzysłowu)
6. Kliknij prawym- odinstaluj
7. Ciesz się Bioshockiem w DirectX 10

1. Apri il menù start di Windows
2. Vai al Pannello di Controllo
3. Nella sezione “Programmi” clicca “Disinstalla un Programma”
4. Clicca in alto a sinistra su “Visualizza Aggiornamenti Installati”
5. Dopo che tutti gli aggiornamenti vengono mostrati, cerca semplicemente “KB2670838” (senza
6. virgolette) e disinstallalo
7. Goditi Bioshock 2 con le DirectX 10.
