How to get armor and weapons on Eldevin

Overview

This simple guide is aimed at teaching you how and where to get the best armor and weapons in Eldevin.

Armor

Getting the best armor in Eldevin is very important, otherwise you risk dying which may cost you a lot of money for repairs. There are 3 main ways on this game for how armor can be obtained.

1. Crafting

The simplest way to get armor is by crafting it. Whether you’re a Templar (tank), Warrior, Assassin, Ranger, Mage, or a Prophet (healer), your armor can be crafted. Although it may require you to level your skills very high and have to keep them at your combat level, it is possible to just craft your armor. One could also find a player who has the certain level and ask them to craft it for you. The player may require you to prove the materials, but this is a possibility.

Different crafting professions (skills) are required to craft armor for different classes. Below is an explanation for the crafting professions needed for the armor.

Templar/Warrior: These 2 classes get their armor crafted from the Armorsmithing profession. Armorsmithing’s gathering profession is Prospecting (mining). A player can mine ore and process them into heavy armor.

Templar/Warrior use heavy armor.

Assassin/Ranger: These 2 classes get their armor crafted from the Leatherworking profession. Leatherworking’s gathering profession is Skinning. A player can skin creatures throughout Eldevin for their hide to craft medium armor.

Assassin/Ranger use medium armor.

Mage/Prophet: These 2 classes get their armor crafted from the Tailoring profession. Tailoring’s gathering profession is Farming. A player can gather cloth using the Farming profession to craft light armor.

Mage/Prophet use light armor.

One very important thing to note is (this ties in with #3 on how to get armor) is that the best armor is obtained by dungeons. But the dungeons only provide the top, bottom, boots, and legs. In order to get the full set, and the bonuses of having a full set, the helm must be crafted. There is no other way to get the helm. This goes for every class, and every type of dungeon armor set.

2. Killing Monsters/Questing

One of the simplest way to get armor is by just grinding out monsters to get drops. Each monster has a chance to drop items of its level, or the level near it. For example, a level 5 wolf might drop items which could be level 4, 5, or 6. These items don’t necessarily have to be armor, they could just be weapons. The monster might not even drop a full set or armor. It may only be able to drop the chest piece only. But by killing monsters, there is a chance a player might get a piece of a armor.

Another method is by questing. Throughout the quests in Eldevin, a player might receive a piece of armor as a quest reward. Though this is very uncommon, it is still possible. It’s not chance however, certain quests just give armor rewards, and others don’t. It is not wise to rely on quests to provide a player for their armor.

3. Dungeons

The best set of armor is obtained through dungeons. On Eldevin, there is a dungeon at every 5 levels (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, NOT 30, 35, 40, and 45 (soon 50 will be released)), and each dungeon boss chest loot has a chance to drop a piece of an armor set. There is a heavy armor set, medium (assassin and range have 2 different medium armor sets) armor set, and light (mage and prophet wear the same armor) set possible from each dungeon.

EXCEPTION: The armor set for level 5 only includes the medium armor set. This is unfortunate as this means that the heavy and light armor set for templar/warrior and mage/prophets is not available in the game for level 5’s. However, one can quickly level up to 10 and attempt the level 10 dungeon (The Boondocks) to obtain the level 10 armor set which comes in all forms (heavy, medium, and light).

EXCEPTION 2: Since Eldevin doesn’t have a level 30 dungeon, it means that players can’t get the level 30 set from dungeons. The level 30 set must be entirely crafted if the player wishes to have it.

One important thing to note is that the dungeons only provides players with the boots and gloves for the armor set. The helm must be crafted through professions, and the top and bottom must be bought with relics. By doing dungeons, players gain “Relics”. A player can check how many relics they have by press “C”, or clicking the “Toggle Show Character” button on the bottom right of their screen, and then pressing the “Currency” tab below the armor worn. On this page, players can see how many relics they have. Each dungeon has its own relics. With these relics, a player can visit the Champion’s hall (located west, or left, of Eldevin City center) to purchase the top and bottom of the dungeon armor set with the relics (mages and prophets go through the portal in Champion’s hall for their armor).

Weapons

Weapons are a good way to make sure that a player deals the best damage they can in the game. Weapons, same as a armor, can be obtained through a few different ways.

1. Crafting

An effective way to get weapons in the game is through the Profession (skill) Weaponsmithing. Unlike armor, weapons can be made with just 1 skill for all different classes in Eldevin. Whether a player is a Warrior, Ranger, or a Mage, all their weapons can be made through Weaponsmithing.

Weaponsmithing’s gathering professions include Prospecting (mining) and Forestry (woodcutting).

Some of the best Heroic class weapons in game can be made through crafting.

2. Killing monsters and Questing

Another, yet not so simple, method to obtaining weapons is killing monsters and questing. By killing monsters, there is a chance a player might get a weapon drop. Although it’s rare, it’s still possible. Even though it might drop, there isn’t a guarantee that the weapon will be for your class. Questing is almost just the same because only a select few quests give weapons as rewards.

3. Dungeons

An effective method to get the rarest of rare weapons is by doing dungeons. Yes, just like how doing dungeons can get a player nice armor, it can also provide a player with nice weapons. Just like armor, there are weapons for different classes.

Some reasons why to choose dungeon weapons is because weapons from dungeons tend to have a “roll” on them. This means that the weapon doesn’t have a fixed amount of stats. These “rolls” could be amazing rolls meaning the weapon could have amazing stats, or the rolls could be not so good, and the crafted weapons would be better. This makes dungeon runs much more exciting because of the chance to see these rolls of the dungeon weapons.
