Overview
This guide will teach you how to get in orbit, and dock with just about any ship!
Step 1, get your main ship in orbit!
Can be something as simple as a fueling ship, or just a practice ship, just like the one in the screenshot.
Step 2, make a ship you want to dock with!
All you need is a command module, and a docking port (make sure it is the smaller port), you also need RCS thrusters. Use a small ship just like this one!
Step 3, get your second ship in close orbit to the first one!
Step 1, make sure the ship in orbit is about 45-30 degrees to the ship you are launching.
Step 2, click the ship in orbit to get its specs, then, try and get the closest approach as close as possible (as seen in the video).
Step 3, when you are about 30 seconds to the Apoapsis, and thrust in the direction you are going, (with the ship in orbit)
Step 4, now that your orbits are close, fidget with the thrust and RCS to get the closest approach as close as possible, or get an encounter.
Step 4, match orbits
This part is a little tricky, you must wait until you are close to the closest approach, and when you are there, you must try and match orbits, to do this you need to thrust in the direction that the first ship is going, it is very hard to explain, but it just takes practice.
This may take some tries, for the first time you do this, I would recommend saving the mission right before you want to match orbits, try this over and over until you match orbits.
Once you are close to the ship, use your RCS to slow down, and go to the docking port.
Step 5 (extra)
If you want to fuel the ship(s), then you just have to press the fuel button when you are docked, then you can choose which fuel tanks (or RCS tanks) you want to transfer.
Oh, and yes, the video that is in here is not with the ships I showed, but I have tested it, and it works fine.
