One day a commander arrived he was playing XCOM EW with the IronMan level and with automatic saves, he decided to buy a S.H.I.V. Unfortunately the game crashed at the same time of purchase and lost all its game money, when the game was restored it had a negative economy of -1400 $. It was a real tragedy as there was no way to go back to a state before the BUG, so knowing the fatal history I decided to make this “Modding” guide. If you have this surprising BUG, here is an alternative … !!! hehehehehee …
1.- Important Data:
– Have the game installed on your PC or Laptop.
– Have the “ALT” and “TAB” keys working perfectly.
– Make a backup of your “savegames” of the game.
2.- Necessary program
– Cheat Engine. You can search this program on Google and download it from its official website through the internet. (Don’t forget to install it hehehehehe…)

3.- Procedure
– From “STEAM”:
– From the quick access icon.
– Once inside the game, press the “ALT + TAB” keys to exit the XCOM EW game for a moment to the Windows desktop.
– Double Click on the Cheat Engine program icon to start the program.
– Now we click on the screen icon of the Cheat Engine Program to be able to choose the executable of the game that we are using.
– Then the following window will appear in which we will have to choose the executable of the game and then press the “OPEN” button.
– Then all the Cheat Engine functions will be enabled and ready to use. (Some antivirus give false positives with this program so it would be good to disable them for a while).
4.- Modifying elements

For this we must bear in mind that we will modify data values stored in the RAM corresponding to the XCOM EU or EW game. So I recommend good concentration and faithfully obey this step-by-step guide.
– In case you make a mistake or are not sure what you did, I recommend you close the game completely without saving the changes and restart your PC or Laptop.
– Before starting to modify the data and values, you must make a backup copy of your “SaveGame” of the game.

*** In this step we will return to the game again and we will find ourselves in the “Gray Market” of the game. ( I apologize for the images since they are in Spanish my mother tongue … But I’m sure it won’t be a problem … !!! ) ***
– Here we must choose any element of the game that is equal to or greater than 5 units, for example, I will use the corpses of the sectoid commander because I have 9 corpses. They are sufficient for our test.

– For step 2, we memorize the number 9 and press the “ALT + TAB” keys to go to the desktop and in the “Cheat Engine” program window we will type the number 9 in the search bar.
– Once the number 9 is written in the search bar of the “Cheat Engine”. Keep the same settings as in the image as is without moving or touching anything.
– Now we press the button “[First Scan]”. This will scan the RAM designated for the game for the number or value 9 and show you a complete list of those values.
– Now we see that the list of values with the number “9” is very long and also the binary routes. To reduce the list of values it is necessary to return to the game to make a sale of the sectoid commanders and then return to the “Cheat Engine” program and perform a consecutive search. Don’t worry, follow in my footsteps … Let’s get back to the game now … !!!
(Do not close the Cheat Engine program, leave it as is, do not touch anything …)

– In this step number 3, we are going to make a sale of a corpse of the sectoid commander and then do a search for the new value of corpses in the “Cheat Engine” program.
– We now have 8 sectoid commander corpses. We will look for this new number or value in the “Cheat Engine” program.
– We press the “ALT + TAB” keys in the game again to exit for a moment to the “Cheat Engine” program window.
– In the “Cheat Engine” program we delete the previous value 9 and write the value 8 in the search bar, then we press the button “[Next Scan]”. This will look for the new value 8 in the RAM memory designated for the game and it will show us the list of those values.
– We have to reduce the options to be able to modify a valid address of the RAM memory designated for the game. Therefore we must return to the game again and make another sale of the corpse of the sectoid commander and then look for the new value in the “Cheat Engine”.

– On this occasion as we have several corpses of “sectoid commander” we can sell a few more to find the true address and modify it … Therefore we return to the game to sell 2 corpses of “sectoid commander”.
– We have 6 corpses of “Sectoid Commander” and again we press the “ALT + TAB” keys to find the new numerical value in the “Cheat Engine” program. I hope this time we find the true address hehehehehe …
– We write the number 6 in the search bar and then we press the “[Next Scan]” button of the “Cheat Engine” program to generate the search for values 6 and reduce the list of addresses of the RAM memory designated for the game. In this way we will find the true value to modify it…
– We are almost there, we have 2 addresses that contain the value 6 in our RAM memory designated for the game. We return once more to the game to sell 1 corpse of “Sectoid Commander” and carry out the new search … This time we will find the true address and we are 2 steps away from having money in the game …
– Being in the “Gray Market” we sell 1 corpse of the “Sectoid Commander”, the value that we will have will be 5 and we will look for that number again in the “Cheat Engine” …

– We write in the program “Cheat Engine” the new value 5 in the search bar. Then we press the “[Next Scan]” button to search for the true address.
– WOW … !!! PUM … !!! PUNCH … !!! We found it, we have a single address that contains the value number 6 in the RAM memory of our game.
– Now we double click on the address found in the list of values so that it is displayed in the modification section of the “Cheat Engine” program.

If the changes made in the “Cheat Engine” program did not work in the game even though you moved the mouse or exited and entered the gray market again. You must close the game without recording anything with the “ALT + F4” keys, then you must restart your computer or laptop and then enter the game again and do everything again. You load your backup “SaveGame” and calmly and patiently you can do everything neatly …
