Want to go back to the original color schemes?This mod changes the team colors to better match the colors used in the original 1999 and 2013 releases.No more neon blue, greenish yellow, pale cyan, or yellowish orange! Some original color ramps are even improved!
Introduction
With the release of DE, you may have noticed that there’s one new visual change that can’t be flipped off. The player colors are wrong! With some modding, this can all be fixed, and we can even take advantage of the new color depth to improve the old colors.

Installation
As of Update 36906, you can now use the mod manager to install this mod!
Mod Manager Method
- Open the Mod Manager from the main menu by clicking “Mods“.
- Click “Browse Mods” and type “Classic Colors Fix” into the search bar.
- Subscribe to the mod, and enable in the mod list. A restart may be required to apply it!
Old, Manual Method
- Download Classic Color Fix[www.dropbox.com] and extract it.
- Drag the resources and widgetui folders into the “SteamsteamappscommonAoE2DE” folder and accept the overwrite of files. You’re done!
- To uninstall, verify game files through the Steam library.
This mod will also fix the color of the shield on the main menu, the timeline colors, and the scoreboard colors!
