Overview
It looks like the master server no longer works so you can’t simply choose between the different servers while already running ‘The Ship’. Luckily there are still some workarounds so you can still play the game.This guide shows two easy methods for joining ‘The Ship’ servers.
Method 1 (Easier Method)
Before launching the game at all you can use Steams built in server browser to choose between the existing servers.
How?
1. Click on ‘View’ in the top left hand corner of steam.
2. Choose ‘Servers’ from the dropdown menu.
3. Click on the ‘Change Filters’ button in the bottom left hand corner of the window and change the game type to ‘The Ship’
4. Click on ‘Refresh All’ and choose the server you want.
Method 2 (As Found in Redey59’s Guide)
If you are already in game you can access a list of servers through a 3rd party website and then connect to it through the developers console.
How?
1. Enable the developers console (if you haven’t already)
- Go to “Engine Room” (this is the “options” menu here)
- Select Keyboard
- Select Advanced
- Tick “enable developer console” on
2. Goto to the following website which has an up to date list of all active servers: [link]
3. Choose and connect to the server you want from the list:
- Bring up the console by pressing the ~ button (above the tab and below the esc button).
- Type “connect” followed the ip address of the server you want to join (this can be copied from the website we opened in step 2).
For example you could type “connect 205.251.138.228:27015” into the console to join the Team9000 server.
