How To Make Functional Sails

Overview

This is a basic guide to functional sails! This works in both advanced and non advanced mode! Sails are not a block (yet) but there is a way!

How To Create Them

Build a basic hull that can float and add a tall, 1x1x- row of blocks (you can make it as tall as you like

You then can create a “Mast Boom”
These are where the sails will go

After your hull floats and has a mast, you can add the sails

To make sails, get a “Control Surface” block, any size will do.
Place it under the “Mast Boom” you created
An important note, make sure the “Direction Arrow”* has the positive arrow on the side towards the front of the ship. [link]

* You can enable Direction Arrows by going in the workbench, looking at the right hand side toolbar and hover over each one until you find “Direction Arrows” Once you have found it, click it to enable it
