ACT 3/Chapter 3 – how to make orens
Hello everyone!
welcome to my guide on how to make orens in chapter 3/ act 3 in witcher 2. Now you might be wondering why is it only specific to act 3 and why i havent made an entire guide on how to make orens throughout the entire game? This is simply because this is my first time playing witcher 2 and ive played through it without thinking much about making orens. So as long as i was able to get the armors and weapons that i needed i never paid attention to the orens that i have UNTIL act 3 came in and i saw all the essential items/armors that are sold by the NPCs. Not to mention that in chapters 1 and 2 making orens is easy. Now i had to find a way to make money and get these items but in act 3 and just so you know, there is basically little means to make money at this point. you can only do arm wrestling once and thats it – no repeating. no brawling for money, and playing dice poker would basically take a long time. Hence the only other option to make money is through farming loots from monsters and selling them.
Now that being said if you are reading this and you are somewhere chapters 1 or 2 then good for you as you can and you should farm as much orens as you can through arm wrestling (recommended), brawling, and lastly dice poker.
How many orens should you farm? well there is no specific amount to reach unless you want to get the steam achievement of earning 10k orens. but basically just make sure that you get to buy the things that you need and thats pretty much it.
anyways, moving on the making orens in chapter 3 there is a spot in loc muinne where you can fight 4 harpies repeatedly. basically the pattern is – go to the spot, kill the 4 harpies, loot, move a little to another spot and meditate, go back to the same spot and kill the harpies again. just keep repeating this until you have enough loots to sell.
*** this is the spot on the map where the harpies are located
*** the spot should look like this
*** once you look back from the spot from picture 2 (picture above) you should now see this spot. you should see that board/rock that leads to a little elevated spot. after killing the 4 harpies, proceed to that spot and meditate for at least 1 hour.
*** the meditating spot should look like this. meditate here for 1 hour. go back to the farming spot, loot, and meditate back to this location and repeat.
