Overview
A tutorial showcasing how to mod the textures of the games Jerseys, as well as the Balls and update them to 2018-2021 jerseys
Intro
To start off, you’ll need the tools and the jerseys.
The tool required is the Blobset Creator[www.rugbyleaguemods.net], which will require you to re-direct your RLL4 Location in the folder IF it is not on the C: Drive.
The Jerseys can be found here[forum.bigant.com], by a User called callmack1, who created these by himself from scratch in photoshop.
Downloading the jerseys
A key thing to remember with Jersey modding is that you cannot add extra jerseys, you can only replace the pre-existing Jerseys.
The jerseys must be 2048×2048 when downloaded, but this shouldn’t require upsizing, as they should download at that resolution.
To save time when it comes to downloading the jerseys, name them like so;
- nrl_broncos_away_col.pc.png
- nrl_broncos_home_col.pc.png
- nrl_broncos_nines_col.pc.png
- nrl_broncos_heritage_col.pc.png
- nrl_broncos_indigenous_col.pc.png
- rep_qld_col.pc.png
- rep_nsw_col.pc.png
and with these you’ll need to convert the PNG’s into DDS files. This can be done via photoshop with a Nvidia Add-on[developer.nvidia.com], or via random tools on Google. Save as DXT1 DDS.
To find other jersey filenames, refer to the Whitelist.txt in the Blobset Creator folder.
If this is too complex, I will be uploading my Blobset Creator folder at the end, which features my Jerseys, Fixtures, and Gameplay Mods.
Inserting the Jerseys
So once you’ve downloaded and converted all the jerseys, go into the Blobset Creator and place them in: RLL4Modscharactersuniformstextures.
Once you’ve done that go open the Blobset Tools.exe and if done correctly you should see all the jerseys listed
If they’re all there, then you’re basically done, just go ahead and create the Blobset, and it should be complete after that. If there’s an error, make sure you did change the directory in the Blobset folder
under RLL4_Location.txt.
Also if you need help replacing jerseys with the names, take a look into the Whitelist.txt and that’s basically a guide for what’s what.
Changing Jersey number colours
With a few of these jerseys (Penrith Away, Eels Home or away(?) sharks) the colour of the numbers can often be the same as the jersey, therefore you cannot see the numbers.
To correct this, youll need to download RLL4 Save Editor[www.rugbyleaguemods.net].
Open AcadamyData000.SAV (this is your fanhub data) and go click on the team on the left, and the Jersey tab up the top.
Make sure you change the jersey via the dropdown at the top, and edit the number colour at the bottom of the Image that I’ve shown. Save changes when done.
Changing Ball Textures
Replacing the Ball Textures is more or less the same as editing jerseys.
The dimensions must be: 1024×2048, and converted into DXT1 DDS format.
The directory they must be dropped into is: RLL4Modspropsballstextures within the Blobset editor.
The most common ones would be named:
- ball_auckland_nines_col.pc.dds
- ball_ind_allstars_col.pc.dds
- ball_nrl_col.pc.dds
- ball_nrl_play_col.pc.dds
- ball_soo_nsw_two_col.pc.dds, ball_soo_qld_one_col.pc.dds, ball_soo_qld_three_col.pc.dds
- ball_superleague_col.pc.dds
There are more, but they can be found within the Whitelist.txt in the Blobset editor. Just Ctrl F “ball” and you’ll find them easy.
Conclusion
In conclusion this couldn’t be done without Wouldubeinta[forum.bigant.com] for the tools, and callmack1 for the jersey creations.
As promised, ill leave my Blobset Creator folder here (its a MEGA.nz link so need to remove the hyperlink), remember to change the RLL4_Location upon using it. It includes jerseys, gameplay mods, 2020 fixtures, and a little bit more.
