How to Play, Basic Game Play Guide

Overview

A basic game play guide to get you started, which will be updated as the game updates progress. Kind comments and friendly suggestions on what should be added or changed are welcomed and will be seriously considered as I work on this guide. This is an ongoing guide that will be constantly updated as I progress through the game.

Getting Started

This game is in VERY EARLY ACCESS, so you have to be very patient with progress in the game as it is very, very slow.

Interaction key is F for most things. F to interact with your customers, F to move product from boxes to shelves, etc.

To move an entire box of product or grab a product off the shelf, use E and to place it back down, use E again.

When you first start the game, you are in your little apartment. Leave it and follow the signs to your shop, which is to the left and up the street just a ways. Open the store and start putting product out on the 1 Rack and 1 Table you are supplied in your inventory. You can also use X to show hot keys and F1 for help, which will also give you a “tutorial”.

Customers will come and go while you work, make sure to interact with them and make the money you need to buy more product and earn the $50,000 towards the bigger truck. Yes, I said $50,000. There is no medium truck to work up to the bigger truck and right now no way to obtain loans to help you out either.

Products & Inventory

Take boxes into the store, use E to carry boxes, and take the products out of the boxes by using F and place them on the shelf by clicking the left mouse button. The product will show Red if unable to place, and green if it’s a good placement.

Customers will come and go as you work, but that’s okay. Make some money while you work.

You can choose whether to bring the big ticket items, i.e. ladders, carts, large chemical tanks, etc., inside or leave them outside. As for now, nothing gets stolen. Not sure if that will change or not.

Whether you just put a few items on the shelves or all of them at the start, is your choice. I found it easier to put just a few at a time until I made some money and could buy a few more racks and/or tables to utilize for more product inventory. You can also simply put things like storage containers, paint buckets, etc., on the floor as well when you start.

Character Needs

On the bottom right hand side of the screen, you will see several indicators which indicate your person’s needs, wants, and so forth.

The top line is your money, that should be obvious. It shows how much you have. Simple enough.

The next line is your reputation. You gain 1 reputation for every order you accept and fulfill, and you lose 1 reputation for every order you decline.

Next two lines are food and drink. Right now, your only way to get that is to order from the restaurant which is across the street and to the right a bit from your apartment, or down the street and on the left from the shop. (Use M to look on the Map.) Don’t let it get in the red or it will affect your energy level.

Next line is your energy level. It is affected as you run, your need to pee goes up, your food and drink levels drop. It does come up quickly, though, once you stop for a moment or simply stop and walk for a few moments, or relieve yourself.

Last line is the character’s need to relieve himself. Oddly enough, devs did not put in a toilet in order for the character to do this, so the only way is to find a corner or use the shower at the apartment, which is what I do at the moment. Yes, he also farts and takes a dump. You’ll know he takes a dump because he curses and then you hear flies buzzing around and a shower indicator appears. Just use the shower in the apartment until that shower icon disappears.

Right now, your character doesn’t need to sleep, but if you want to pass the night quickly, you can do so by sleeping it off by clicking on the bed in the apartment. Otherwise, you can choose to work through the night, like I often do. This may change and I hope it does.

Customers

Right now, there is only one type of customer. What I mean by that is he looks the same, but just dresses differently.

You get 3 to 5 customers a day, depending on how long you stay open. When you first start the game, they will only want 1 or 2 things, but this will change as you progress and your reputation increases.

When a customer enters the store, greet him by pressing F. See what he wants and then either accept by clicking ‘OK’ or click on ‘DECLINE’ for now. However, you will gain good reputation for accepting and your reputation will decrease for declining. If you don’t have all the product, though, you won’t have a choice to decline, so as you progress through the game and have the money, make sure to keep a good supply on hand. You can put enough out on shelves, just keep extra boxes on the 2nd or 3rd floor of your store.

Also, the customer will only wait so long for you to fill the items. Place items on the table or in the yellow box behind the table. If you forget the order, you can either look at the customer and press F again, or look at the screen in front of the desk and it should tell you what you need and the quantity for each item.

Places on the Map

Freddy’s Place

This is where you go to buy more product. From your shop, go to the end of the street, turn left, and follow the road and keep going to your left — or just follow the signs once you’re out of the town.

Restaurant

This is where you go to eat or drink.

The Farm

Right now, I don’t find a use for this facility. Will update as things progress.

The Factory

Haven’t used it yet, but when I get further along in the game, I will update this section and may have its own section in the guide. My understanding is when you make enough $, you can make your own products and ship via the Export Company.

The Export Company

Where you sign contracts to make products and ship for better and more money. Since I haven’t progressed far enough to use the Factory, I haven’t used the Export Company yet either. I will update this portion and may even give it its own section when I get this far.

The Truck Company

Where you can buy vehicles.
