Overview
A collection of poor habits, easy improvements, and general advice to newer or lower league players. I have introduced quite a few friends to the cult that is nauts, and with the help of this guide, you can condescend onto them!
On Solar and Economy
Basics
You see the floaty white things? Collect them. You see the things that wander around near your base and give you health? Collect them. Steal them from the enemy if you can. While this may seem very obvious, new players don’t seem to think so.
Kills
Each kill nets your team 70-100 solar (depending on how good the solar pattern is). This means being careful not to die, for me. For others it could mean actually going out and getting the kill. Kills matter! A lot! (they also give XP, we’ll get to that later).
Minions
Kill them. Collect the yellow bits on the ground. These boys matter a hell of a lot.
Piggy Bank
If you’re new to nauts, just buy it. It’s that simple. Your game won’t last long enough for you third bottom row upgrade to come in handy. If you truly think that your game will last long enough for you to go full build, then go ahead and skip it. Though, you won’t be crippled if the enemy has one upgrade up on you in the late game. Basically: if benefit from early piggy bank>loss at end of game then buy it. In conclusion, just buy it.
BKM
This stands for Baby Kuri Mammoth, it is a purple elephant. If you want to buy this, don’t. Get power pills instead. BKM is extremely situational at upper level play, and should probably never see lower level play.
Power Pills
YES please daddy POWER PILL ME. That being said, you should wait until the late or midgame to get these.
Building in general
Just look up a build and add piggy bank to its beginning. Easy.
The Solar Boss
This big boi gives your team a bunch of solar. You should kill him when your team has pressure in both lanes on Ribbit IV and the enemy team is alive (If they’re dead you should help your team push!).
On Health and the like
Low Health!
Don’t go in when you lack it, the exception being when you are very sure that you can get a kill. As high as 2/3 health is lacking it. Search for heals if possible. If you are at less than 1/3 of your health, and cannot find heals, and the enemy team is alive, back.
Where Health?
You should prefer health pickups closer to your enemies’ base, but don’t go out of your way to grab them. Almost always, getting a heal when you’re near the enemy base and nearly full health is good, as it denies it from them. The exception to this being when a lower health teammate could use it.
On Experience
Doing things gets your experience. Your level is displayed at the top of the screen. If you’re ahead, seek fights. If you’re behind, focus on killing minions and pushing. If your team can group up on one or two of the enemy team, you should win.
Feedback
Please give it. I need it to live. I will literally die without it. Harsh or no, I want it. Want me to add a section? Add information to a section? The icon I chose for this is unrelated to nauts and therefore dumb? Tell me.
