Overview
This guide describes the following workarounds/fixes:1. Make the game playable in 16:9 aspect ratio (1080p, 4K, UHD etc.)2. Set the framerate to 60 fps3. Change field of view and cursor size accordinglyJust to be clear there is no way to get the game working properly in native 16:9 aspect ratio because of a bug that causes the game to crash every time you open the construction menu. The Workaround is a 16:10 resolution with black bars on the left and right.
Create autoexec.con
Open a new text file in notepad or any other text editor and add following lines:
graphrate 60
graphminrate 60
graph.cursor.size 30
graph.limited.view=0
graph.viewangle.max 1.57
graph.viewangle.min 0
Save as “autoexec.con” (without quote signs) in the game folder.
Install DgVoodoo dlls and create profile
First download the latest version of DgVoodoo from here[dege.fw.hu]
Extract the archive to any convenient folder on your computer. It should look like this:
Now go into the folder titled “MS” and copy the following .dll files to your game folder:
D3D8.dll, D3DImm.dll, DDraw.dll
At last open the DgVoodoo control panel and create a profile for Earth 2150.
Click on “add” and navigate to the game folder inside your steamapps folder. Choose this folder for the DgVoodoo profile:
Change following options in DgVoodoo Control Panel:
General – Scaling mode: “Stretched, keep Aspect Ratio”
DirectX – Resolution: must be a fixed 16:10 Res (e.g. 1920×1200, 2560×1600, 2880×1800, 3840×2400)
DirectX – Disable water mark
DirectX – Filtering, Antialiasing (optional)
Run Earth 2150 Setup
In the Earth 2150 setup choose a non 16:9 resolution!
That concludes the guide and your game should work properly now. If you have questions post them in the comments. Thanks!
